Abstract

PURPOSE: To monitor the state of liquid in a pressure vessel containing steam and water by an arrangement wherein a control means urge a selected set selected by a selective urging means and controls a measuring means to determine the difference of detected temperature outputs and output a corresponding temperature difference. CONSTITUTION: A shield 40 arranged around sensor probes 12A, 12B lowers steam flow rate around the split tube at the sensor or the probe to permit flow-in of water and a limited flow can touch the sensor probe directly when holes 42 are made symmetrically and the sensor is set in the channel. Thermocouples TC A1, B1 are connected as a pair while thermocouples TC A2, B2 are connected as a supplementary pair and a conduction checker 12 checks conduction of each pair intermittently. Since interface circuits 118, 129 connect the internal components of control circuits 100, 102 with a system controller 104 and a selector 122 supplies the circuit 129 with one of outputs [Delta]T1, [Delta]T2, any one output from TC TEMP CIRCUITs 124-1, 124-2 is selected and a voltage signal STEMP proportional to the temperature difference [Delta]T detected by a thermocouple is outputted.
