Abstract
The anodic structure comprises at least a couple of perforated plates 21, made from a material e.g. plastic chemically inert towards the electrolyte, suitable for being transversely positioned inside the cell adjacent anodic current carriers 23, so as to define inside the cell a chamber closed laterally and at its bottom, which contains the anodic current carrier, the chamber being suitable for being filled with the metal to be refined 20 in a loose form. The perforated plates may be covered by acid-proof cloth 22. The need for periodic replacement of the consumed anodes is avoided since they can be continuously be restored by adding further metal particles 20.
