ESTE PROCEDIMIENTO, DESTINADO A LA PREPARACION DE UN NUEVO DERIVADO DEL TRIPTOFANO, SE CARACTERIZA PORQUE SEGUN EL MISMO SE HACE REACCIONAR EL L-5-HIDROXITRIPTOFANO CON OXIDO O CON HIDROXIDO DE ZINC, O BIEN SE HACE REACCIONAR UNA CORRESPONDIENTE SAL DEL L-5-HIDROXITRIPTOFANO, QUE PUEDE SER AMONICA O ALCALINA O ALCALINOTERREA, CON UNA SAL DE ZINC, TENIENDO LUGAR LA REACCION EN UN DISOLVENTE POLAR. SE APLICA A LA PREPARACION DE COMPUESTOS QUE TERAPEUTICAMENTE ACTUAN A NIVEL DEL SISTEMA NERVIOSO CENTRAL.
