Abstract

This is a vehicle seat comprising an underframe 1 which can be secured to the floor of the vehicle, a framework 3 including a backrest 7 and mounted so as to pivot about a pin A rigidly connected to the underframe so as to be able to tilt forwards, a seat cushion 4 including a rear portion mounted so as to pivot on the framework about a pin D, a device for adjusting the inclination of the seat cushion including, on the one hand, two front racks 13 mounted so as to pivot about a pin B connected rigidly to the underframe and, on the other hand, two coaxial pinions 14 with spindle C secured together by a front crossmember 15 of the seat cushion 4 and suitable for interacting with the front racks 13 and a control member accessible to the user of the seat. The pivot pin D of the rear portion of the seat cushion is rigidly fixed in an unremovable manner to the framework 3 so that its setting cannot be adjusted.
