EN UN REACTOR DE AGUA HIRVIENTE, UN APARATO Y UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA INSPECCION ULTRASONICA DE LA GUIA SUPERIOR SON DESCRITOS A CONTINUACION. LA GUIA SUPERIOR CONSTITUYE UNA REJILLA DE BARRAS DE ACERO INOXIDABLE QUE SE ENCUENTRAN SOBRE LA PLACA DE NUCLEO Y QUE SON MONTADAS EN RANURAS ENFRENTADAS CON LA REJILLA MONTADA EN LOS BORDES LATERALES EN EL RECIPIENTE DE PRESION DEL REACTOR. ESTA REJILLA APUNTALA LOS EXTREMOS SUPERIORES DE LOS CONJUNTOS DE COMBUSTIBLE APOYADOS VERTICALMENTE EN SU ORIENTACION REQUERIDA Y ESPCAIADOS PARA PERMITIR, ENTRE OTRAS COSAS, QUE EL INTERVALO ESPACIAL REQUERIDO SEA MANTENIDO PARA MODERACION DE LA REACCION POR BARRA DE CONTROL.
