Abstract
Surgical equipment which has to be sterilised by means of steam, following an exposure of the equipment to a vacuum or to an injection process, is placed in a container (10), with an inner sealed lid (14) held in place by an outer lid (12). - The inner lid is fitted with a valve (20) with two valve plates. One plate opens if the internal pressure rises above a preset level, whilst the other plate opens if the internal pressure falls below a preset level.
