UN PROCEDIMIENTO MEJORADO PARA LA PREPARACION DE 3-AMINO-5-METILISOXAZOL MEDIANTE REACCION DE UN COMPUESTO NITRILO SELECCIONADO DEL GRUPO CONSISTENTE EN 2,3-DIBROMOBUTIRINITRILO, 2-BROMO-3-METOXIBUTIRONITRILO, 2-BROMOCROTONITRILO Y TETROLONITRILO, O MEZCLAS DE LOS MISMOS, CON HIDROXIUREA, EN UN MEDIO DE HIDROXIDO DE METAL ALCALINO, MANTENIENDOSE EL PH DURANTE LA REACCION EN LA GAMA DE 10,1 A 13, PREFERIBLEMENTE ENTRE 10,5 Y 12,5. OPCIONALMENTE, EN EL SISTEMA DE REACCION ESTA PRESENTE TAMBIEN UN DISOLVENTE ORGANICO INERTE. LA HIDROXIUREA PUEDE PREPARARSE ASIMISMO IN SITU A PARTIR DE UN ALQUILCARBAMATO E HIDROXIAMINA EN UN MEDIO ALCALINO ACUOSO.
