Abstract
N-Methyl 1-methylthio 2-nitro ethenamine, for use as an intermediate in prepn. of cpds. with histaminic H2 activity, is made by reaction of methyl isothiocyanate with the sodium salt of nitromethane to give the sodium salt of N-methyl nitro-thioacetamide. This is reacted in situ with dimethyl sulphate without isolating the intermediate cpd.
