Abstract
LOS RESIDUOS DE UNA CENTRAL NUCLEAR, QUE CONTIENEN UNA RESINA ORGANICA CAMBIADORA DE ION QUE A SU VEZ CONTIENE METALES RADIACTIVOS, SE DESCOMPONEN PARA FORMAR SUSTANCIAS VOLATILES PARA OXIDACION EN UN LIQUIDO ACUOSO ACIDO (8). LOS IONES METALICOS RADIACTIVOS ASI DISUELTOS EN EL LIQUIDO, QUE SON PRECIPITABLES CON HIDROXIDO, SE HACEN PRECIPITAR DESPUES POR ADICION DE UN HIDROXIDO (10) HASTA UN PH IGUAL A 9 COMO MINIMO Y LOS COMPUESTOS METALICOS ASI PRECIPITADOS SE SEPARAN POR LO MENOS DE LA MAYOR PARTE DEL LIQUIDO. DESPUES SE SEPARAN LOS IONES DE CESIO Y ESTRONCIO RADIACTIVO DE ESTE LIQUIDO. EL LIQUIDO (24) SEPARADO DE LOS COMPUESTOS METALICOS PRECIPITADOS Y LIBERADOS DE LOS IONES DE CESIO Y ESTRONCIO SE LLEVA A UN RECEPTACULO CON LAS RESTANTES SUSTANCIAS TODAVIA DISUELTAS EN EL, Y LOS COMPUESTOS METALICOS PRECIPITADOS (11K, 11S) SON SOLIDIFICADOS EN UNA VASIJA DE DEPOSICION (22). LA RESINA CAMBIADORA DE ION ESTA CONSTITUIDA PREFERIBLEMENTE POR LO MENOS PARCIALMENTE POR UNA RESINA CAMBIADORADE ION SULFONADA Y EL HIDROXIDO ES PREFERIBLEMENTE HIDROXIDO SODIDO O ALGUN OTRO HIDROXIDO METALICO ALCALINO.
