The present invention refers to a bed for people in a situation of prostration, usable in hospitals, geriatric centers and even at home, to facilitate the care and manipulation of these people, although it can also be normally used by people without these problems.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Currently, there are hospital beds to facilitate care and increase the comfort of people in a situation of prostration, such as elderly people or people who have recently had surgery. These beds are mainly used in hospital and geriatric centers, and include elevating sectors (mainly the headboard, although modernly the part of the legs is also elevated with angulation in the hamstring area). In the case of raising the headboard, which is the most important movement, an undesirable effect is that the occupant is propelled forward, often increasing his pain, and not facilitating the change of bed linen or its cleaning; And of course, this configuration lacks means to facilitate manipulations such as cleaning or changing diapers, which in people with hip fractures or elderly people with mobility problems, for example, are very painful, or difficult for assistants.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The bed for people in a prostrate situation of the invention comprises, in its simplest version, some sectors provided with independent mattresses, said sectors comprising a removable lumbar sector that is covering the lumbar and starting area of the person's legs, provided with a lumbar mattress, and comprising interspaced fixed supports (that is, with sufficient separation to access each other) inserted in open spaces above the lumbar mattress, which preferably have the shape of parallel bars.

In this way, the lumbar sector can be extracted, leaving the person prostrate supported on the fixed supports, facilitating the interdistance between them for the manipulations of the caregivers (washing, cleaning, therapeutic manipulations, etc.), with the additional advantage that it is not necessary to move or turn the prostrate person, avoiding pain, and also accelerating the possible healing of the person by minimizing friction and movements.

Thus, on the one hand, it is possible to alleviate the caregiver's tasks and at the same time avoid major ailments for people who are bedridden, such as infections, bedsores or wounds.

DESCRIPTION OF A PRACTICAL EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
