Abstract

The invention relates to a low consumption device for desalting sea water by reverse osmosis, the device comprising a pump (1), a motor element (2) intended to actuate the pump, an osmosis membrane (3) provided with an inlet (31) for the salted water which is impulsed by the pump (1), an outlet (32) for the osmotized water, an outlet (33) for rejected water and a hydraulic motor (4) to which is connected the outlet (33) of the membrane (3) in order to obtain, from the pressure of the water rejected by the membrane, a mechanical energy which is used for actuating the pump (1), thereby enabling the use of a low power motor (2).
