Description

    Field of the invention
  • The present invention generally relates to the field of packaging for displaying in a retail store.
  • More specifically the present invention relates in a first aspect to a display packaging for a product.
  • In a second aspect the present invention relates to a use of a display packaging according to the first aspect of the present invention as a packaging for a product.
  • In a third aspect the present invention relates to a product comprising a display packaging according to the first aspect of the present invention.
  • Background of the invention
  • Various products which are offered for sale in retail stores are often packed in a packaging. The packaging itself may contain information relating to the product and its use. Furthermore, the packaging may be provided with an anti-theft alarm so that in case the packaging with its content leaves the store, an alarm will be triggered.
  • Many customers wish to have a tactile feel on the product before they decide on a purchase. This wish to have tactile feel on the product before purchase often make a customer open the packaging in order to be able to have a closer look and feel on the product.
  • However, store owners have found that a packaging that has been opened is not desirable for other customers. This is because very often the opening of the packaging will make the packaging look used or worn or even partially destroyed.
  • Therefore, a product being packed in a packaging which has already been opened by a customer may represent a loss in revenue for the store owner.
  • In order to solve this problem, packaging have been provided which to a larger extent allows a customer to open the packaging without leaving any traces on the packaging that the packaging as been previously opened.
  • Such packaging allow customers to open the packaging in order to have a closer look at the product being offered for sale therein and in order to have a tactile feel of the product.
  • However, such packaging on the other hand makes it easy for a customer to remove the product being offered for sale from the packaging in order to steal that product.
  • One such type of packaging is disclosed in US 10,696,443 B1 . This document discloses a display packaging comprising a sled and an outer sleeve. The sled is configured to receive a product offered for sale. The sled is able to be displaced in and out of the outer sleeve. The outer sleeve comprises a rib extending downward from a top wall of the sleeve. The rib engages the sled when the package is in a closed configuration. Upon exerting a force which slides the sleeve relative to the sled, the rib deflects and thus indicates that the packaging has been opened or attempted opened. US 10,696,443 B1 does not disclose means preventing theft of a product being accommodating in the sled of the packaging, once opened.
  • Accordingly, a need persists for a display packaging which on the one hand allows a customer to have a tactile feel on the product being offered for sale therein and which on the other hand makes it difficult for a customer to steal the product contained in that packaging.
  • It is an objective of the present invention to provide such technology.
  • Brief description of the invention
  • This objective is fulfilled according to the present invention in its various aspects.
  • Accordingly, the present invention relates in a first aspect to a display packaging for a product, wherein said display packaging comprising:
    • an inner container for containing said product, said inner container is having an extension in a first direction X, thereby defining a first end and an opposite second end of said inner container; and is having an extension in a second direction Y, said second direction Y being perpendicular to said first direction X; and
    • an outer sleeve covering said inner container; said outer sleeve is having an extension in a first direction X, thereby defining a first end and an opposite second end of said outer sleeve, and is having an extension in a second direction Y, said second direction Y being perpendicular to said first direction X;
    • wherein said outer sleeve comprises an opening in said second end thereof;
    • wherein the dimensions and geometry of said inner container and the dimensions and geometry of said outer sleeve are adapted to each other in such a way that said inner container is being displaceable inside and relative to said outer sleeve in said first direction X;
    • wherein said display packaging comprises retaining means for preventing full displacement of said inner container out of said outer sleeve;
    • characterized in that said inner container comprises a first compartment arranged at said first end of said inner container, and a second compartment arranged at said second end of said inner container;
    • and in that said first compartment of said inner container comprises a protrusion extending from a bottom part of said first compartment, such as in a direction essentially perpendicular to said bottom part.
  • In a second aspect the present invention relates to a use of a display packaging according to the first aspect of the present invention as a packaging for a product.
  • In a third aspect the present invention relates to an object comprising a product and a display packaging according to the first aspect of the present invention, wherein said product is being packed in said display packaging.
  • The present invention in its various aspects provides for an improved display of a packaged product to be displayed in a retail store which allows a customer to have a tactile feel of the product and which at the same time makes it difficult to remove the product being offered for sale from that packaging.
