Description

A COOKER WITH INTEGRATED EXHAUST HOOD
The present invention relates to a cooker with integrated exhaust hood wherein the ease of mounting of the filter is improved. Generally, cookers with integrated exhaust hoods having a design which enables an exhaust hood to be placed into the cooker can be operated in two different modes of operation. In said two different modes wherein the air is recirculated in the room or directed outside through the exhaust, the odor in the air has to be eliminated by means of carbon filters especially in recirculation mode. Moreover, said carbon filters has to be easy to use in terms of mounting, cleaning and replacement. In state of the art filter types, unwanted vibrations and noises are generated as a result of carbon filters which cannot be placed firmly. Furthermore, a carbon filter which is not placed firmly cannot prevent unwanted objects which fall through the opening on the cooker towards the interior volume therein from reaching critical elements. In the state of the art, mounting process may require two-person labor for the secure placement of the filter, resulting in adverse consequences both for the manufacturer and the user.
In the state of the art Patent Document No. EP3593053B1, a cooker with integrated exhaust hood is disclosed, comprising a filter with improved ease of mounting having first and second filtering members which are placed into first and second housings therein through an opening.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooker with integrated exhaust hood wherein ease of mounting is provided and the users are enabled to mount the filter without the need for technical support.
The cooker with integrated exhaust hood realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the claims, comprises a body; an opening which is disposed on the body; a fan which is disposed in the body; a filter which is positioned between the fan and the opening; and a filter housing which allows for the placement of the filter and has a lower surface, an upper surface and at least one magnetic member which is preferably a magnet. Basically, when the exhaust hood function is activated, the air moved by the fan is sucked into the cooker through the opening provided on the cooker, preferably by passing through the carbon filter. The filter therein is enabled to be placed by means of a magnetic member.
The cooker with integrated exhaust hood further comprises a protrusion which extends outwards along the longer edge of the filter and bears against the filter housing during the mounting process; the lower surface having the same slope as the placement direction of the filter; and the magnetic member which is positioned adjacent to the lower surface of the filter housing and enables the filter to be fixed into the filter housing. By means of the filters which are designed symmetrically, the user is enabled to attach and detach the filter with one simple move with the help of the attraction force of the magnetic member and the engagement properties of the protrusions. Furthermore, contrary to the filters which cannot be placed firmly, the vibration problem which disturbs the user acoustically is eliminated by means of the secure mounting. By means of the correct and firm mounting, the circulation of the unfiltered air in the cooker is minimized. Furthermore, technical service need for the replacement of the filter is reduced and field malfunction rates are reduced accordingly.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooker with integrated exhaust hood comprises a guiding member which is provided on the upper surface of the filter housing and which enables the placement direction of the filter to be determined by means of embossments in the form of a channel. Thus, during the mounting process, the guiding members increase the effectiveness of the magnetic members by enabling the filter to move in a certain path on the upper surface.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooker with integrated exhaust hood comprises the magnetic member which is placed so that the geometric center of the same is positioned below the geometric center of the filter. By means of this configuration, wherein the distance between said geometric centers cannot be more than 1 cm, an attraction force which is in the correct direction enabling the correct placement of the filters is provided and thus, the ease of use is improved.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooker with integrated exhaust hood comprises the magnetic member which is positioned under a plastic material. The magnetic member is prevented from being affected by the corrosions due to humidity and heat by being placed under a plastic layer which is thinner than the same, and thus, can maintain the magnetic property.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooker with integrated exhaust hood comprises a reed relay arranged in the body, enabling the placement of the filter into the filter housing to be detected by detecting the interaction between the protrusion and the magnetic member. Thus, the placement of the filter can be detected automatically and thus, the product reliability is increased by avoiding operation without a filter.
A cooker with integrated exhaust hood realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

The cooker with integrated exhaust hood (1) comprises a body (2); an opening (3) which is disposed on the body (2); a fan (4) which is disposed in the body (2); a filter (5) which is positioned between the fan (4) and the opening (3); and a filter housing (9) which allows for the placement of the filter (5) and has a lower surface (6), an upper surface (7) and at least one magnetic member (8). Basically, when the exhaust hood function is activated, the air vacuumed by the fan (4) is sucked into the cooker (1) through the opening (3) provided on the cooker (1), preferably by passing through the carbon filter (5). The filter (5) therein is enabled to be placed by means of a magnetic member (8).
The cooker with integrated exhaust hood (1) further comprises a protrusion (10) which extends outwards along the longer edge of the filter (5) and bears against the filter housing (9) during the mounting process; the lower surface (6) having the same slope as the placement direction of the filter (5) and the magnetic member (8) which enables the filter
(5) to be fixed into the filter housing (9) by being positioned adjacent to the lower surface
(6) of the filter housing (9). The filter (5) which is placed through the opening (3) towards the filter housing (9) is partially guided by the lower surface (6) which has a flat and smooth surface in the same direction. The protrusion (10) which is preferably manufactured from sheet metal enables the filter (5) to be attracted by the magnetic member (8) towards the ideal position therein and bears against the filter housing (9). Another advantage of the sheet metal is that it allows for a symmetrical placement by enabling the filter (5) to maintain position without being stretched due to the air flow. Protection against corrosion can be also provided by using a sheet metal protrusion (10) which is manufactured from a stainless material to achieve the best performance. Furthermore, based on the configuration of the cooker (1), the protrusions (10) can be provided in one direction or in two directions. By means of the filters (5) which are designed symmetrically, the user is enabled to attach and detach the filter (5) with one simple move with the help of the attraction force of the magnetic member (8) and the engagement properties of the protrusions (10). Furthermore, contrary to the filters (5) which cannot be placed firmly, the vibration problem which disturbs the user acoustically is eliminated by means of the secure mounting. By means of the correct and firm mounting, the circulation of the unfiltered air in the cooker (1) is minimized. By means of this firm placement, the filter (5) also acts as a shield against the foreign objects and liquids which may come through the opening (3) and prevents the critical components from being damaged. Furthermore, technical service requirement for the replacement of the filter (5) is reduced and field malfunction rates are reduced accordingly.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooker with integrated exhaust hood
(I) comprises a guiding member (11) which is provided on the upper surface (7) of the filter housing (9) and which enables the placement direction of the filter (5) to be determined by means of embossments in the form of a channel. The guiding members
(I I) are formed to have a slope so as to direct towards the magnetic member (8). Thereby, by means of the guiding members (11), the effectiveness of the magnetic members (8) during the mounting process are increased by enabling the filter (5) to follow a certain path on the upper surface and slide on said path.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooker with integrated exhaust hood (1) comprises a magnetic member (8) which is placed so that the geometric center of the same is positioned below the geometric center of the filter (5). For example, the magnetic member (8) which is positioned 3 mm below so that the center thereof is closer to the lower surface (6) has a tolerance for the desired positioning in the production. By means of the configuration of the magnetic member (8) and the filter (5) which are positioned so that there is a maximum distance of 1 cm in between, an attraction force which is in the correct direction enabling the correct placement of the filters (5) is provided and thus, the ease of use is improved.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooker with integrated exhaust hood (1) comprises the magnetic member (8) which is positioned under a plastic member which is a protective member (13). The magnetic member (8), such as a magnet, which is placed behind a plastic member so as to be concealed is prevented from contacting the humid environment directly. The magnetic member (8) which is positioned under a plastic layer which is preferably thinner than the magnetic member (8) is prevented from being affected by the corrosions due to humidity and heat and thus, can maintain the magnetic property.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooker with integrated exhaust hood (1) comprises a reed relay (12) arranged in the body (2), enabling the placement of the filter (5) into the filter housing (9) to be detected by detecting the interaction between the protrusion (10) and the magnetic member (8). By adjusting the shape and the strength of said magnetic member (8), a detection rate which is suitable for a reed relay (12) operating as a magnetic switch is designed. Thus, the presence/absence of the filter (1) in the filter housing (9) can be detected automatically and thus, the product reliability is increased by avoiding operation without a filter (5).
In addition to all these embodiments, the interaction between the metal protrusions (10) and the magnetic member (8) can operate the other way around. The same functionality can be obtained when a metal piece is provided in the filter housing (9) and a magnetic member (8) is provided on the filter (5). By means of the cooker with integrated exhaust hood (1) of the present invention, especially in the mounting and the replacement of the cartridge type carbon filters (5), both ease of use for the user is improved and the need for technical service is decreased by means of the magnetic member (8) and the protrusion (10) therein.
