Description
- The present invention relates to sprinklers, and more particularly to a sprinkler having an adjusting valve which is to be actuated to switch on or off the flow and to regulate the flow volume by being pushed.
- Garden hoses are usually used for watering in gardens because the planted area is large or is far away from the water source. The water flowing directly from the hose is strong and can only be sprayed in a small area. It is difficult to water plants with garden hoses in large surfaces and time-efficiently. Besides, it may happen that plants are accidently damaged or not watered when using a garden hose for watering. Therefore, a sprinkler is often mounted on an end of a garden hose for large-scale and efficient watering.
- To switch on/off the flow or regulate to flow volume at the conventional sprinklers, the user has to grip and press a key or a lever of the sprinkler. By regulating the flow volume, the user has to firmly grip the key or the lever. Once the user releases the key or the lever, the key or the lever will rebound and no more water will be sprayed out. This results in that the water flow ca not be maintained in a constant amount and that the hand gets easily tired by pressing the key or the lever with fingers for a long time.
- An objective of present invention is to provide a sprinkler with which the deficiencies described above in the prior art can be eliminated.
- To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, a sprinkler is provided. The sprinkler consists of a main body, an adjusting valve and a water outlet unit. An inlet portion and an outlet portion are arranged on both ends of the main body. A channel is arranged between the inlet portion and the outlet portion. When the main body is connected to a water supply via the inlet portion, the water will pass the channel, flow through the outlet portion and then be sprayed out via the water outlet unit. A flow regulating hole is arranged between the inlet portion and the outlet portion in such a way that the flow regulating hole runs through the peripheral edge and is offset to the channel. Thereby, the adjusting valve can be mounted in the flow regulating hole. The adjusting valve has an axle journal and a cap bushing. The axle journal and the cap bushing are to be put into the flow regulating hole from two directions and then jointed with each other. The axle journal and the cap bushing are respectively provided with a flange whose protrusion causes a blockade of the adjusting valve when the adjusting valve is loaded with force. In such a case, the adjusting valve can only be pushed back and forth in the flow regulating hole and is thus not able to leave the flow regulating hole. Furthermore, at least a stop ring is put respectively on the axle journal and the cap bushing. A stop portion and a passage portion of smaller diameter are formed on the axle journal. When the adjusting valve is being pushed, the stop portion will cover the channel to different extent in the pushing process. Thereby, the user can switch on/off the water and regulate the flow volume by means of the adjusting valve on the main body.
- The sprinkler according to the invention provides following benefits.
- Firstly, it is possible with the adjusting valve to have the water sprayed out freely without pressing a certain portion of the sprinkler throughout, so the operation of the sprinkler is more effort-saving and disburdens therefore the hand of the user. Moreover, the sprinkler ensures a water flow with a constant flow volume.
- Secondly, the adjusting valve consist of the axle journal and the cap bushing which are assembled to a butt joint. This construction is simplified, allowing for a quick assembly.
- Other objects, advantages, and novel features of invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
