En partie haute de la face avant du corps principal, le pupitre de commande est équipé d’un afficheur qui, en service, est bien visible par l’opérateur et permet de transmettre à ce dernier des informations facilitant la prise en main et l’utilisation du pupitre par l’opérateur. Par ailleurs, les boutons-poussoirs et l’afficheur, ainsi que, le cas échéant, d’autres organes de commande présents sur le pupitre de commande sont prévus sur une surface plane de la face avant, sur laquelle débouche le passage traversant où est agencé le joystick, et qui s’étend jusqu’à un bord inférieur de la traverse inférieure du corps principal, ce bord inférieur étant prévu en retrait par rapport à la surface plane : en service, cette surface plane est inclinée vers l’arrière lorsqu’on la parcourt de bas en haut, ce qui est ergonomique, tout en évitant la rétention d’eau ou l’accumulation de saletés sur cette surface plane et, par-là, sur les boutons-poussoirs, l’afficheur et les éventuels autres organes de commande. En effet, le pupitre 40, ainsi positionné relativement bas par rapport à l’opérateur, ne limite que marginalement le champ de vision de ce dernier, tout en maintenant la surface plane 47 orientée directement vers l’opérateur, notamment, comme expliqué ci-après, à des fins d’observation de cette surface plane 47 et d’actionnement d’organes de commande portés par cette surface plane 47.
