Description
Stütz-Halterunqen für Voaelschutz-Drähte Support brackets for bird protection wires
This invention relates to support brackets for wires that are mounted as bird protection on facades and roofs to prevent birds from perching and thus prevent soiling of facades and roofs with bird droppings effectively.
The cleaning of excrement facades, parapets and roofs proves to be expensive. The faeces also attacks various materials due to the acids it contains, so that a complete removal of the faeces still leaves traces. It is much better to prevent clogging from the start. A bird protection is used for this purpose, for example in the form of wires that are stretched over the endangered areas and are supplied with electrical voltage pulses of 18 kV voltage for currents of up to 2.4 amperes. A special power device, similar to those used for electric fences, supplies the wires with voltage. Electric shocks delivered can be recognized by the power device and they are digitally recorded in a computer and can also be reported to a recipient via SMS or push message. In the event of an electric shock, the voltage from the power device will shut down immediately and after a few seconds, when the bird has flown away, the power will ramp up again. The latest power devices can replace several old ones, are more powerful and, above all, can be networked in order to be able to send messages via the telephone network. [0003] Experience shows that a bird which has once received such an electric shock does not return to that location. Conventionally, metal brackets are used in the form of rods a few centimeters high, the rods standing on a base in the form of a flat flange, which is equipped with holes so that it can be screwed to a parapet or to the outer edge of a gutter or gutter other base can be screwed. An insulator is attached to the top of the support bracket through which an electrical wire can be pulled. These wires are stretched with tension springs. A second insulator is attached about halfway up the rod, with a hole through which a second electrical wire can be pulled, which is also tensioned with extension springs. The wires are tightened vigorously and the brackets are then subjected to considerable forces, firstly because the wires are also routed around corners and tightened and secondly because snow loads or accumulations of leaves and wind and rain can put additional strain on the wires. When a bird sits on such a wire, tensile forces of up to 25 kg arise.
Experience shows that these metal support brackets have a limited lifespan. The brackets heat up in the sunlight, especially when they are attached to copper gutters or copper battlements, up to 65°C. The attached insulators must therefore be heat-resistant. The sunlight makes the insulators made of plastic material prematurely brittle and fragile, so that they finally break completely under mechanical stress. If an insulator has become defective and only weakly holds the wire that is pulled through or the wire even slips out of the holder, there is a risk of electrical breakdown and the entire bird protection system will be damaged and no longer work. The result is very costly repairs. Nevertheless, such metal brackets have been used by the thousands for many years, for lack of a better solution.
There are also brackets for tensioning dead wires. These also have a rod on a flat base in the form of a flange which branches into two branches at the top, which enclose an angle of about 90°. Insulators with holes are attached to the ends of these two branches. These brackets are then about 7 cm high. They allow the tensioning of two parallel wires, a few centimeters apart. Mounted on the outer edge of a parapet, the outer wire protrudes beyond the facade, so that a bird, in particular a pigeon, which always flies towards a parapet from below in order to land on it, is prevented from landing effectively and purely mechanically.
These mounts can also be used to prevent the birds from perching on flat parapets. A bird does not fly to a whole series of parallel wires stretched a few centimeters apart in order to perch.
From both types of these support brackets very large amounts are required to equip a building with an appropriate bird protection. The effort is correspondingly high when such holders are defective and have to be replaced. The metal brackets are naturally relatively expensive and must be fitted with insulators for electrical use.
The object of the present invention is to provide support brackets for wires for bird protection, which offer a much longer service life, which do not become brittle in sunlight, are heat-resistant, and which cannot break through for the use of electrical wires, and on At the end of their life cycle, they can be disposed of without hesitation, and finally they can be produced much more cheaply, and they do not require any post-treatment to support electrical wires, i.e. no insulators with holes are attached.
[0009] This object is achieved by support brackets for supporting taut wires as bird protection on buildings, characterized in that the brackets are made of injection-moldable material and have a base with at least two boreholes and a rod standing on it, which is used for the electrical application at its end as well as on its half Height is provided with a hole, or branches into two branches at the top for currentless use, which are each provided with a hole at the end.
These support brackets are presented and described in more detail with reference to the figures and their use is explained.

[0011] FIG. 1 shows how such a bird protection is installed by means of these support brackets, for example, here for the use of the electrical variant, ie for holding electrical wires. The figure shows a detail of a facade 1 with a window 2 with parapet 3, which ends on both sides in a shoulder 4, which extends along the facade 1. The support brackets 5 for the electric wires are screwed along the outer edge of the parapet 3 and the ledge 4. Holes are drilled and dowels are used for this purpose. On straight sections, the brackets are set at a distance of approx. 1 to 1.20 m. When it comes to corners, brackets can be placed arbitrarily close to each other to route the wires appropriately. These support brackets, which are now mass-produced from injection-moldable material using injection-molding technology, have prefabricated holes 6, 7 through which an electric wire 8 can be pulled. For example, the injection moldable material can be a mixture of recyclable injection moldable material and virgin PET or PLA material. Advantageously, the mixture consists of approx. 75% by weight recyclable, injection-mouldable material and approx. 25% new PET or PLA material. As an alternative, holders 5, 20 can consist of a mixture of a proportion of cornstarch with additives for its weather resistance and a proportion of new PET material or new PLA material. The wire 8 is then stretched by means of tension springs so that it runs straight between two set support brackets 5, ie does not sag. The wires 8 can be pulled around any corners, for which purpose these support brackets 5 are stable enough to reliably absorb the tensile forces that occur without breaking. Each support bracket 5 is screwed with its elongated base 9 by means of two screws to the parapet 3 or paragraph 4.
2 shows an application for non-electrical wires 12, 13 along a projection on a facade. These Y-shaped brackets 20 are mounted on the outer edge of the projection 2. The outer branch 11 or arm of the Y then protrudes beyond the projection 2, and thus also through the Holes 10 at the end of this arm 11 drawn wire 13. The further inner wire 12 running towards the building is spaced from the outer wire 13 by about 30-40 mm. A bird, in particular a pigeon, always flies towards such a projection 2 from below, only to then land on it. With this wire 13, which protrudes over the projection 2, it is impossible for her to land and she then refrains from attempting a landing at all.
In Figure 3, the support bracket for the electrical wires is shown in a front view. Below you can see the base 9 about 15 mm wide, which forms a flange about 5 mm thick with two holes 14 of 2 mm diameter. Screws can be inserted through these holes 14, with which the holder can be attached firmly to the ground. For this purpose, the screws are screwed into the drilled holes in the ground equipped with dowels, ie in a projection 2, a parapet 3 or in a ridge tile. On the base 9 there is a rod 15 which extends upwards at right angles and has a total height of approx. 50 mm with the base 9, which tapers slightly towards the top and has a hole 6 of approx. 1 mm diameter at its tip is provided. This hole 6 serves to accommodate the phase of two electrical wires 8. A wing 16 is formed on one side of the rod 15, which has a 7 hole of about 1 mm diameter in the uppermost area, about 25 mm from the underside of the base. which is arranged tangentially along the rod 15. In this second hole 7, the second electrical wire 8 is pulled through for grounding.
4 shows this support bracket in a side view. The base 14 is about 45 mm long and you can see here the side of the support bracket on which a lateral wing 16 is formed on the rod 15 . You can see the hole 7 in the upper part of the wing 16, which also cuts the rod 15 laterally.
In Figure 5, this support bracket is shown in a plan view. The base 9 measures 45 mm in length and 15 mm in width and the rod 15 is arranged in its center with the wing 16 directed towards a longitudinal side of the base 9. The two holes 14 for attaching the base 9 on the The underground is located in the longitudinal direction of the base 9 about 5 mm within the base 9.
The figure 6 shows a second type of support bracket, this time for the use of non-electrical wires. The lower portion of this rod support bracket is identical in design to the bracket previously described, except that it does not form a side wing. At the top, the rod of this holder 20 branches into two branches 11 or arms, so that it forms a Y as a whole. At the ends of the branches 11 or arms there are holes 10 of about 1mm in diameter for pulling through non-electrical wires 12, 13 to be tensioned. This holder 20 measures about 70mm in its total height.
7 shows this support bracket in a side view. You can see the two arms 11 with their holes. The base 9 again measures approx. 45 mm in length and 15 mm in width. Finally, FIG. 8 shows this support bracket in a plan view. The holes 10 in the ends of the two arms 11 are thus spaced about 50-60 mm apart and, correspondingly, so are the two wires to be pulled through them.
9 shows the use of the support bracket on a gutter 17. Here, a plastic mounting element 18 is pushed onto the outer edge of the gutter 17 with a precise fit from above. Afterwards, a holder 5 can be screwed onto the attachment element 18 from above, in which case the screws 19 penetrate through the attachment element 18 a bit as sheet metal screws into the bead 21 of the gutter 17 and create a solid and firm connection. The upper hole 6 in the support bracket 5 is threaded with the phase of an electric wire 8, and the lower hole 7 with the grounded wire 8. The two wires are reliably and permanently separated from each other by the non-conductive material from which the brackets 5 are molded insulated so that no more electrical breakdowns occur.
The spray material is so durable and tough in terms of strength that it is comparable to a metal bracket. This mount is but firstly it is electrically insulating throughout and secondly it is much lighter than a metal bracket and thirdly it is far more economical than a metal bracket to produce it as an injection-moulded part with a multiple tool in mass production.
