Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing a paper bag for containing hygiene products.
- a paper bag for holding hygiene products is known, for example, from the publication EP 3 901 054 A1 .
- This has a paper layer and a sealable coating arranged at least in sections thereon, which faces an interior of the bag, the bag being heat-sealed via side edges each having the sealable coating in a predetermined width.
- a challenge is to provide the paper bags as cost-effectively and environmentally friendly as possible. This includes, for example, the use of the smallest possible amount of sealable coating material per bag, the complete application of the coating material necessary for the entire bag and the partial sealing of the coating material, as well as the possibility of producing bags of different sizes in one and the same manufacturing process. There is also a challenge in reduction tool costs while at the same time making it possible to produce as many variants as possible, for example by not having to have a separate printing form available for each additional bag variant. In addition, the aim is to minimize the number of work steps, in which, if possible, all of the process steps necessary to produce the bags are completed in one work step. The associated challenge is to minimize set-up times and set-up costs, which arise, for example, when preparing the system for different bag variants or when preparing different operations.
- the invention has the advantage that the bags are coated inline during the bag assembly. This means that the paper web does not have to go through an expensive printing machine several times to produce the print and coating, which leads to shorter throughput times and avoids waste.
- both the coating sections intended for providing the bag base body and the coating sections intended for closing the bags are applied.
- side seams and top fold seams can be provided, and the coating section(s) provided for closing the bag can be provided in the area of a bag opening.
- the side seams and the head fold seams can then also be sealed inline in the same manufacturing process, while the coating sections for closing the bags are not sealed inline, but are sealed in a separate process after the bags have been filled, for example after delivery of the empty bags to a customer , which packs the hygiene products into the bags and then seals the bags. It can also be advantageous to use the same sealable coating material for the first and second coating strips, so that the effort required to provide the bags is minimized. Furthermore, the widths and application positions of the coating strips can be individually adjusted for each bag size to be produced, so that only the necessary amount of coating material has to be applied without having to coat the entire paper.
- the second coating strips are regularly spaced apart from one another in the conveying direction.
- the first coating strips are not sealed together, leaving a bag opening for later sealing after the bag has been filled with hygiene products. It can also be provided that the heat-sealed side seams are separated essentially in the middle.
- the first and/or the second coating strips may have a rectilinear shape.
- the first coating strips can be arranged on opposite side edges of the paper web, so that the first coating strips are in the When the paper web is folded together, it delimits a bag opening through which the interior of the bag is accessible.
- At least one open area is formed between the opposite first coating strips and two adjacent second coating strips, which is free of sealable coating.
- the open space can be rectangular, for example.
- unfolding can include inserting a head fold in the area of the folding arrangement.
- the head fold can in particular be designed such that the fold arrangement has three folds, so that a fold is inserted between the front and rear bag walls.
- the head fold can, for example, serve to create a base with which the filled bag can be placed upright without falling over. Furthermore, the head fold can ensure that the bag has an attractive appearance or that more items can be accommodated in the bag.
- the fold arrangement can have a W-shaped profile in cross section.
- the sectional application of the sealable coating to the first side of the paper web can further include the application of coating sections extending towards one another in the conveying direction in the area of the folding arrangement, the coating sections directly adjoining the second coating strips.
- the width of the coating sections transverse to the conveying direction can essentially correspond to the width of the paper web section provided for the head fold.
- the coating sections can have a rectangular shape.
- the coating sections can be arranged essentially centrally in relation to the paper web width, apart from the protruding material section provided for the wicket pins.
- the width of the coating sections can correspond to the width of the material section intended for the head fold. Based on the paper web width, the coating sections can be arranged in alignment with one another. A further open space can be provided between the coating sections extending towards one another, so that the coating sections are spaced apart from one another.
- the coating pattern applied in sections comprising the first coating strips and the second coating strips and optionally the coating sections, can be designed to be mirror-symmetrical in the conveying direction, so that when the paper web is folded, sections each having a sealable coating are folded onto one another.
- the partial heat sealing of the applied sealable coating further includes the heat sealing of the coating sections to produce head fold seams.
- the paper web can be unfolded off-center relative to the paper web width, so that one of the layers of the two-layer web has a protruding material section.
- This can be designed to provide wicket pin holes so that the bags can be stacked in pin stacks.
- first coating strips are applied to the paper web without interruption. This allows them to extend continuously over the paper web in the paper conveying direction.
- the method can further provide that the distance between the first coating strips and/or the respective width of the first coating strips can be variably adjusted. Furthermore, the distance between the second coating strips and/or the length and/or the width of the second coating strips can be variably adjustable. Furthermore, depending on the size of the bag to be produced, the dimensions of the coating sections can be variably adjustable in and transversely to the conveying direction.
- the sealable coating is applied by means of gravure printing and/or flexographic printing and/or nozzle application and/or spraying. Furthermore, at least two of first coating strips, second coating strips and coating sections can be produced by different application methods. This means that the optimal coating techniques can be used for the technical requirements of the different coating areas. It can be provided that the first coating strips running along the conveying direction are applied by means of at least one rotating printing form, for example using gravure printing and/or flexographic printing. It can be provided that the position of the rotating printing form can be moved transversely to the conveying direction of the paper web.
- Coating strips and/or the coating sections are applied by means of nozzle application and/or spraying.
- all coating areas are produced using the same coating technique.
- the application of the second coating strips and/or the coating sections is carried out in a report-controlled manner and/or by means of at least one control mark.
- the method may include the step of: introducing wicket pin holes into the protruding material section.
- the method may include punching the bags after heat sealing the second coating strips to remove corner portions in the area of the head fold. It can be provided that the heat sealing of the coating sections takes place after punching. It can be provided that the bags are separated after the coating sections have been heat-sealed.
- the method can further include stacking the separated bags on wicket pins using the introduced wicket pin holes.
- the paper web is unwound from a paper roll.
- the method can include generating a printing pattern on the second side of the supplied paper web.
- the method can include at least partially applying a further sealing layer to the second side. This means that any wrinkles that arise when filling the bags can be fixed to the bag body.
- Fig. 1 shows a section of a paper web 2 conveyed in a conveying direction X with a paper web width B, to which a mirror-symmetrical coating pattern made of sealable coating material 3 is applied.
- This has first coating strips 4 running in the conveying direction X, which extend continuously on opposite outer sides of the paper web 2.
- the first coating strips 4 serve as a border for a bag opening 9, which is not initially sealed, but is only sealed after the bags 1 have been filled with hygiene articles.
- the first coating strips 4 have a length L1, which seamlessly adjoin the first coating strips 4 of the adjacent paper bag sections due to the continuous application.
- the length L1 is 336 mm.
- the first coating strips 4 have a width B1, in the example shown of 100 mm, and are slightly spaced in the transverse direction from the outer edges of the paper web 2, so that it is avoided that the coating mass builds up on the edge during the printing process because it is over the Paper web protruding edge area gets caught on the printing cylinder/medium.
- the width B1 of the first coating strips 4 is determined by the tolerance range that the fillers require when closing the bags (eg due to fluctuations in filling height). In the embodiment shown, this engagement area has a width of 10 mm.
- the first coating strips 4 are spaced apart from one another by a distance A1 in the transverse direction of the paper web 2.
- the second coating strips 5 are used to produce side seams 8 of the paper bags 1 and, in contrast to the first coating strips 4, are sealed immediately after the paper web 2 has been folded.
- the second coating strips 5 run essentially transversely to the conveying direction X and are spaced apart from one another in the conveying direction X by a distance A2, which is 316 mm in the example shown.
- the Second coating strips 5 extend, apart from the protruding material section 15, over the entire width of the paper web and have a length L2, which is 825 mm in the example shown.
- the width B2 of the second coating strips 5 is 20 mm, as shown by way of example.
- the first and second coating strips 4, 5 enclose an annular open area 10 in which no coating material 3 is applied to the paper web 2.
- the size of the open area 10 essentially corresponds to the "show" area printed on the outside of the bag; the bag is closed outside this area.
- the protruding material section 15 has two wicket pin holes 17 per paper bag section and has a width of 42 mm in the example shown.
- the second coating strips 5 each have coating sections 12 which adjoin or overlap in the middle and which serve to seal the head fold 11.
- the head fold 11 is formed as part of the folding arrangement 6 by a paper web section 13 intended for this with a width BK, 115 mm in the example shown.
- the coating sections 12 are arranged opposite each other on the outer edges of the bag and extend towards one another, with the open area 10 extending between the two coating sections 12.
- the coating sections 12 each have a length L3 in the conveying direction X and a width B3, which in the example shown are 115 mm and 70 mm, respectively.
- the paper web 2 is folded in half along a folding arrangement 6 running in the conveying direction X, thereby forming a two-layer web 7, the layers of which each represent a bag front and a bag back. Due to the symmetrical arrangement of the coating pattern, uniformly coated areas are folded onto one another when the paper web is folded.
- the head fold 11 is inserted as described above.
- the second coating strips 5 are then sealed so that bag base bodies with separate bag interiors are formed.
- the second coating strips 5 can be sealed up to the areas that overlap with the first coating strips 4.
- the first coating strips 4 are not sealed and delimit a bag opening 9 that remains open. Protruding areas of the head folds 11 are then removed by punching.
- the coating sections 12 are sealed by punching. After sealing the second coating strips 5 and the coating sections 12 and after punching, the paper web 2 is separated into separate bags 1 along separation lines 16. The dividing lines 16 run along the middle of the second coating strips 5, so that they are each separated into two side seams 8 of two adjacent bags 1.
- Figure 2 shows a bag 1 produced by the method according to the invention in the unfilled state, without the corners of the head folds 11 having been punched away.
- This has a paper layer 2 forming a double-layer web 7 and a sealable coating 3 arranged in sections thereon, which faces a bag interior.
- the bag has a rectangular shape with a longitudinal dimension 24 corresponding to the length of the second coating strips 5 and a transverse dimension 25 corresponding to the length of the first coating strips 4.
- the bag 1 has an inserted head fold 11 in the area of a folding arrangement 6, so that the material web forming the bag is folded back on itself by means of three folds, so that a front bag wall and a rear bag wall are formed.
- the material web sections placed one on top of the other have aligned side edges which extend in the longitudinal dimension of the bag.
- the front and rear bag walls are heat-sealed to one another at a width b corresponding to half the width B2 of the second coating strips 5, so that 1 cm wide sealing seams 8 designed as flat seams connect the bag walls to one another.
- the front and rear bag walls are not welded directly to one another, but rather the front bag wall is welded to the head fold section facing it and the rear bag wall is welded to the head fold section facing it.
- the bag has an opening 9, which is bordered on the inside by the first coating strips 4, so that the opening 9 can also be sealed after the bag has been filled with hygiene articles.
- a protruding material section 15 which projects beyond the bag opening 9 is provided on the rear wall of the bag.
- Two holes 17 are provided in the material section 15, which serve to attach the bag 1 to wicket pins.
- FIG. 3 is a feed device 18 for conveying a paper web 2 shown.
- the paper web 2 is provided on a paper roll 19, from which the paper web 2 is continuously unrolled and fed to the manufacturing process.
- Fig. 4 shows a folding device 20 for folding the paper web 2 into a double-layer web 7. This has a folding wedge 26 that tapers in the conveying direction X, over which the paper web 2 is guided. The paper web 2 is folded over starting from its outer sides towards the center of the web along the outer edges of the folding wedge 26 towards the back of the folding wedge 26.
- the paper web 2 changes its conveying direction This creates a double-layer web 7.
- This is guided through the gap of a pair of rollers, in which the intended folds are introduced into the paper web 2.
- the double-layer paper web 7 has a protruding material section 15.
- the double-layer web 7 is as in Fig. 5 shown fed to a punching device 21, which removes the protruding corner sections of the head folds 11.
- Fig. 5 shown fed to a punching device 21, which removes the protruding corner sections of the head folds 11.
- a separating device 22 which separates the double-layer web 7 into individual paper bags 1 along the intended separating lines 16, the separating lines 16 running along the second coating strips 5 as described above and separating them into two side seams 8 of adjacent bags 1.
- the assembled, partially sealed, punched and separated bags 1 are placed on a bag stack 23. The bags are now ready to be filled in a subsequent process via the opening 9 and then sealed along the first coating strips 4.

Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a paper bag for containing hygiene products.
In particular, hygiene product packaging made of PE film is known from the prior art. Although this is an economically and ecologically highly optimized packaging application, consumers have preferences for paper as a material - due to the assumption that it would be more environmentally friendly. A particular challenge here, however, is that with this material the side edges of the bags cannot be separated and simultaneously welded using separation welding as is the case with PE bags. For this function, papers with an additional layer of film, for example made of polyethylene PE, are often used. However, this may limit recyclability and compostability. Against this background, preference should be given, for example, to coatings that are film-free and have a large proportion of biodegradable ingredients or are easy to remove from the paper layer. Furthermore, another challenge with paper with a sealable coating is to connect the outside of the packaging, in which the paper layer of the material faces each other, for example in corner areas.
A challenge is to provide the paper bags as cost-effectively and environmentally friendly as possible.
It is therefore the object of the invention to improve a method for producing a paper bag for holding hygiene products in such a way that it is particularly efficient and flexible.
The task is solved using a method with the features of
- Fördern einer eine erste und eine zweite Seite aufweisenden Papierbahn in einer Förderrichtung;
- Abschnittsweises Aufbringen einer siegelfähigen Beschichtung auf die erste Seite der Papierbahn, wobei das abschnittsweise Aufbringen der siegelfähigen Beschichtung auf die erste Seite der Papierbahn das Aufbringen von sich im Wesentlichen in Förderrichtung erstreckenden und quer zur Förderrichtung voneinander beabstandeten ersten Beschichtungsstreifen sowie das Aufbringen von sich im Wesentlichen quer zur Förderrichtung erstreckenden und in Förderrichtung voneinander beabstandeten zweiten Beschichtungsstreifen umfasst;
- Aufeinanderfalten der ersten Seite der Papierbahn entlang der Förderrichtung, so dass eine eine Faltungsanordnung aufweisende zweilagige Bahn entsteht;
- Heißversiegeln der zweiten Beschichtungsstreifen zum Erzeugen von jeweils einen Beutelinnenraum begrenzenden Seitennähten;
- conveying a paper web having a first and a second side in a conveying direction;
- Sectional application of a sealable coating to the first side of the paper web, wherein the sectional application of the sealable coating to the first side of the paper web involves the application of first coating strips which extend essentially in the conveying direction and are spaced apart from one another transversely to the conveying direction, and the application of themselves essentially transversely comprises second coating strips extending to the conveying direction and spaced apart from one another in the conveying direction;
- folding the first side of the paper web along the conveying direction, so that a two-layer web having a folding arrangement is created;
- Heat sealing the second coating strips to create side seams each delimiting a bag interior;
- Separate the two-ply web along the heat-sealed side seams to separate the two-ply web into individual paper bags.
The invention has the advantage that the bags are coated inline during the bag assembly. This means that the paper web does not have to go through an expensive printing machine several times to produce the print and coating, which leads to shorter throughput times and avoids waste. At the same time, both the coating sections intended for providing the bag base body and the coating sections intended for closing the bags are applied. To provide the bag base body, side seams and top fold seams can be provided, and the coating section(s) provided for closing the bag can be provided in the area of a bag opening. The side seams and the head fold seams can then also be sealed inline in the same manufacturing process, while the coating sections for closing the bags are not sealed inline, but are sealed in a separate process after the bags have been filled, for example after delivery of the empty bags to a customer , which packs the hygiene products into the bags and then seals the bags.
It can be provided that the second coating strips are regularly spaced apart from one another in the conveying direction. The first coating strips are not sealed together, leaving a bag opening for later sealing after the bag has been filled with hygiene products. It can also be provided that the heat-sealed side seams are separated essentially in the middle. The first and/or the second coating strips may have a rectilinear shape.
The first coating strips can be arranged on opposite side edges of the paper web, so that the first coating strips are in the When the paper web is folded together, it delimits a bag opening through which the interior of the bag is accessible.
In particular, it can be provided that at least one open area is formed between the opposite first coating strips and two adjacent second coating strips, which is free of sealable coating. The open space can be rectangular, for example.
Furthermore, unfolding can include inserting a head fold in the area of the folding arrangement. The head fold can in particular be designed such that the fold arrangement has three folds, so that a fold is inserted between the front and rear bag walls. The head fold can, for example, serve to create a base with which the filled bag can be placed upright without falling over. Furthermore, the head fold can ensure that the bag has an attractive appearance or that more items can be accommodated in the bag. When the head fold is inserted, the fold arrangement can have a W-shaped profile in cross section.
The sectional application of the sealable coating to the first side of the paper web can further include the application of coating sections extending towards one another in the conveying direction in the area of the folding arrangement, the coating sections directly adjoining the second coating strips. The width of the coating sections transverse to the conveying direction can essentially correspond to the width of the paper web section provided for the head fold. The coating sections can have a rectangular shape. The coating sections can be arranged essentially centrally in relation to the paper web width, apart from the protruding material section provided for the wicket pins. The width of the coating sections can correspond to the width of the material section intended for the head fold. Based on the paper web width, the coating sections can be arranged in alignment with one another. A further open space can be provided between the coating sections extending towards one another, so that the coating sections are spaced apart from one another.
The coating pattern applied in sections, comprising the first coating strips and the second coating strips and optionally the coating sections, can be designed to be mirror-symmetrical in the conveying direction, so that when the paper web is folded, sections each having a sealable coating are folded onto one another.
Furthermore, it can be provided that the partial heat sealing of the applied sealable coating further includes the heat sealing of the coating sections to produce head fold seams.
In addition, the paper web can be unfolded off-center relative to the paper web width, so that one of the layers of the two-layer web has a protruding material section. This can be designed to provide wicket pin holes so that the bags can be stacked in pin stacks.
It can also be provided that the first coating strips are applied to the paper web without interruption. This allows them to extend continuously over the paper web in the paper conveying direction.
The method can further provide that the distance between the first coating strips and/or the respective width of the first coating strips can be variably adjusted. Furthermore, the distance between the second coating strips and/or the length and/or the width of the second coating strips can be variably adjustable. Furthermore, depending on the size of the bag to be produced, the dimensions of the coating sections can be variably adjustable in and transversely to the conveying direction.
It can be provided that the sealable coating is applied by means of gravure printing and/or flexographic printing and/or nozzle application and/or spraying. Furthermore, it can be provided that the second, which run transversely to the conveying direction, Coating strips and/or the coating sections are applied by means of nozzle application and/or spraying. Alternatively, it can be provided that all coating areas are produced using the same coating technique. It can be provided that the application of the second coating strips and/or the coating sections is carried out in a report-controlled manner and/or by means of at least one control mark.
In addition, the method may include the step of: introducing wicket pin holes into the protruding material section.
Further, the method may include punching the bags after heat sealing the second coating strips to remove corner portions in the area of the head fold. It can be provided that the heat sealing of the coating sections takes place after punching. It can be provided that the bags are separated after the coating sections have been heat-sealed.
In addition, the method can further include stacking the separated bags on wicket pins using the introduced wicket pin holes.
It can be provided that in order to feed the paper web, the paper web is unwound from a paper roll.
Furthermore, the method can include generating a printing pattern on the second side of the supplied paper web. In addition, the method can include at least partially applying a further sealing layer to the second side. This means that any wrinkles that arise when filling the bags can be fixed to the bag body.

70 mm betragen.The protruding
After the coating pattern has been applied, the
