  • Example 2 Multi-layer Control and Test Films were prepared and formed into Control and Test Bladders as described in Example 1. These Bladders were subjected to repeated flexing and releasing cycles to simulate the conditions to which bladders are exposed to during wear when used as cushioning elements in a midsole of an article of footwear. The sealed Control and Test Bladders were each subjected to a total of 400,000 (400k) KIM test cycles. Before the KIM testing and following 60,000 (60k), 120,000 (120k), and/or 320,000 (320k) KIM test cycles, the gas transmission rate was measured for each of the Bladders (see FIGS. 12A , 13A , and 14 for the exact number of cycles after which the gas transmission rate of the Control and Test Bladders were measured).

  • the measured and calculated GTR (2.24 cubic centimeters per square meter per day) for the Fourth Test Bladder were higher than for the Fifth Test Bladder, but surprisingly were also higher than for the First and Second Test Bladders (calculated GTR of 2.10 cubic centimeters per square meter per day and 2.15 cubic centimeters per square meter per day, respectively). This was unexpected as the First and Second Test Films each had thinner gas-barrier layers and fewer gas-barrier layers than the Fourth Test Film.

Claims (15)

  1. Article chaussant (1010) présentant une région d'avant-pied (1012), une région de milieu de pied (1014) et une région de talon (1016) le long d'un axe longitudinal (A1010) de l'article chaussant, l'article chaussant comprenant :
    une tige (1026) ; et
    une structure de semelle (1028) incluant une vessie (1036, 3100), dans lequel la vessie inclut une partie bulbeuse (1038, 1040a, 1040b, 1040c, 1042a, 1042b, 1042c), et dans lequel la vessie comprend au moins un premier film multicouche (1076, 2160, 3110a, 3110b) présentant une pluralité de couches formant barrière aux gaz (3020) et une pluralité de couches élastomères (3010), dans lequel les couches formant barrière aux gaz alternent avec les couches élastomères ;
    caractérisé en ce que l'article chaussant inclut en outre une ou plusieurs des caractéristiques (a) à (c) suivantes :
    a) la vessie comprend un second film multicouche, facultativement dans lequel une structure du second film multicouche diffère d'une structure du premier film multicouche en nombre de couches barrières aux gaz et de couches élastomères, ou diffère en épaisseur de couches barrières aux gaz et de couches élastomères, ou diffère à la fois en nombre et en épaisseur de couches barrières aux gaz et de couches élastomères ;
    b) la partie bulbeuse s'étend sur une première distance (1050) au-delà d'une ligne de morsure de l'article chaussant dans l'état non comprimé et sur une seconde distance (1066) au-delà de la ligne de morsure dans l'état comprimé, dans lequel une différence entre la première distance et la seconde distance varie d'environ 1,0 millimètre à environ 3,0 millimètres ; et
    c) l'article chaussant comprend en outre une semelle d'usure (1032) disposée sur une surface extérieure de la vessie et la partie bulbeuse est une partie de talon bulbeuse (1038), dans lequel une géométrie de la partie de talon bulbeuse dans l'état non comprimé définit un premier vecteur (1054) s'étendant à partir d'un point le plus en arrière (1052) de la partie de talon bulbeuse non comprimée jusqu'à un point le plus en arrière (1056) du châssis de semelle intercalaire (1034), et un deuxième vecteur (1058) s'étendant à partir du point le plus en arrière (1052) de la partie de talon bulbeuse non comprimée à un point le plus en arrière de la semelle d'usure (1060), dans lequel le premier vecteur et le deuxième vecteur s'étendent l'un à partir de l'autre selon un angle (1062) allant d'environ 115,0° à environ 137,5°.
  2. Article chaussant selon la revendication 1, dans lequel la partie bulbeuse de la vessie est une partie de talon bulbeuse, et se trouve dans une région de talon de l'article chaussant ; et/ou dans lequel la partie bulbeuse présente une première hauteur (1046) dans un état non comprimé et une seconde hauteur (1064) dans un état comprimé, la seconde hauteur étant inférieure à 86 % de la première hauteur.
  3. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la pluralité de couches barrières aux gaz du premier film multicouche comprend au moins 20 couches barrières aux gaz, facultativement au moins 30 couches barrières aux gaz.
  4. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel, dans le premier film multicouche, une épaisseur totale moyenne (2140) de la pluralité de couches barrières aux gaz et de la pluralité de couches élastomères est inférieure à 200 micromètres, facultativement inférieure à 175 micromètres.
  5. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la première hauteur de la partie bulbeuse de la vessie est dans la plage allant d'environ 10 millimètres à environ 24 millimètres, facultativement d'environ 15 millimètres à environ 24 millimètres.
  6. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la seconde hauteur de la partie bulbeuse de la vessie est dans la plage allant d'environ 8,6 millimètres à environ 13,6 millimètres, facultativement d'environ 8,6 millimètres à environ 11,0 millimètres.
  7. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la pluralité de couches barrières aux gaz du premier film multicouche comprend en termes de composition un ou plusieurs polymères thermoplastiques de chlorure de vinylidène, un ou plusieurs polymères ou copolymères thermoplastiques d'acrylonitrile, un ou plusieurs polyamides thermoplastiques, une ou plusieurs résines époxy thermoplastiques, un ou plusieurs polymères ou copolymères thermoplastiques d'amine, un ou plusieurs homopolymères ou copolymères thermoplastiques de polyoléfine, ou une quelconque combinaison de ceux-ci ; en particulier un ou plusieurs copolymères thermoplastiques de polyéthylène, comme un ou plusieurs copolymères thermoplastiques d'éthylène-alcool vinylique.
  8. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la pluralité de couches barrières aux gaz du premier film multicouche comprend en termes de composition de l'éthylène-alcool vinylique.
  9. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la pluralité de couches élastomères du premier film multicouche comprend en termes de composition un ou plusieurs polymères élastomères thermoplastiques.
  10. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la pluralité de couches élastomères du premier film multicouche comprend en termes de composition un copolymère de polyoléfine, un polyester, un polyuréthane thermoplastique, un copolymère séquencé styrénique ou toute combinaison de ceux-ci.
  11. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la partie bulbeuse s'étend sur une première distance (1050) au-delà d'une ligne de morsure de l'article chaussant dans l'état non comprimé et sur une seconde distance (1066) au-delà de la ligne de morsure dans l'état comprimé, et dans lequel la différence entre la première distance et la seconde distance est dans la plage allant d'environ 1,1 millimètre à environ 1,9 millimètre, ou est dans la plage allant d'environ 1,1 millimètre à environ 1,5 millimètre.
  12. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, comprenant en outre un châssis de semelle intercalaire disposé entre la tige et la vessie.
  13. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la partie bulbeuse est une partie de talon bulbeuse, une géométrie de la partie de talon bulbeuse dans l'état non comprimé définit un premier vecteur s'étendant à partir d'un point le plus en arrière de la partie de talon bulbeuse non comprimé à un point le plus en arrière du châssis de semelle intercalaire, et un deuxième vecteur s'étendant à partir du point le plus en arrière de la partie de talon bulbeuse non comprimée jusqu'à un point le plus en arrière de la semelle d'usure, dans lequel le premier vecteur et le deuxième vecteur s'étendent l'un à partir de l'autre selon un angle allant d'environ 115,0° à environ 137,5° ; et dans lequel une géométrie de la partie de talon bulbeuse dans l'état comprimé définit un troisième vecteur (1070) s'étendant à partir d'un point le plus en arrière (1068) de la partie de talon bulbeuse comprimée jusqu'au point le plus en arrière du châssis de semelle intercalaire, et un quatrième vecteur (1072) s'étendant à partir du point le plus en arrière de la partie de talon bulbeuse comprimée jusqu'au point le plus en arrière de la semelle d'usure, et dans lequel le troisième vecteur et le quatrième vecteur s'étendent l'un à partir de l'autre selon un angle (1062) dans la plage allant d'environ 38° à environ 107°.
  14. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, comprenant en outre un fluide retenu à l'intérieur de la vessie.
  15. Article chaussant selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la vessie présente une pression de gonflage initiale allant d'environ 137,9 kilopascals (20 livres par pouce carré) à environ 151,7 kilopascals (22 livres par pouce carré).
