Abstract
A device (1) for augmented connectivity is disclosed, comprising a structure (11) having an inlet (11 a) and an outlet (11), an electric power supply (14), control electronics (2), presence sensors (3), a noise cancellation system (4), security systems (5) and an integrated connectivity system (6), capable of warranting vocal, visual and virtual connectivity with users, services, service providers and others.
Description
DEVICE FOR AUGMENTED CONNECTIVITY
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a device for making videocalls by means of augmented connectivity of the kind indicated in Claim 1 .
Said device more particularly is a device similar to an obsolete call box, but being able to make easier and supply to a user upgraded functions of connectivity.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The problems and needs of citizens in the new extremely connected town social structures, for instance where there is the continual need of being ready for a phone call or sending important communications while being in a crowded place, however not being sure to keep the information confidential or to be protected with cyber security systems, are nowadays well known.
Even though work and relations in the smart cities impose real needs, in said cities no elements are provided, warranting comfortable places for talks or provided with secure connections, such as e-banking hubs or with other service providers.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In such a situation, the technical object of the present invention is to provide a device for making videocalls with augmented connectivity, capable of solving substantially, at least partially, the abovementioned drawbacks.
An object of the present invention is to provide a device improving access to information and services.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a device warranting privacy to the user.
Still another object of the present invention is a device comprising a plurality of connection systems.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a multifunctional device.
A further object of the present invention is to provide a device supplying specific information of the site where the device is installed.
Still a further object of the present invention is to provide a device, whose function may be easily acceded by a plurality of different users.
Moreover, an object of the present invention is to provide a device warranting
comfortable communications, isolated from the external environment.
At last, an object of the present invention is to provide a device warranting data security and the physical safety of the device user.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The characteristics and advantages of the present invention are hereinafter illustrated by the detailed description of its preferred embodiments, making reference to the annexed drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the device for augmented connectivity; and
Fig. 2 is a view of an internal surface of the device for augmented connectivity, showing the system of integrated connectivity.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
A device 1 for achieving videocalls with augmented connectivity, according to the present invention, is schematically illustrated in Fig.1 .
Said device 1 is for example adapted to warrant a plurality of connectivity functions to a user.
Said plurality of functions, in this disclosure, means for instance internal connectivity to control and operate various kinds of services, even external of the device, such as picking up an electric bicycle from a rack, or the supply control of a plug in post for electric cars, purchase of electronic tickets for urban transportation systems, calling or booking taxicabs, payment of parking tickets or meters, phone and video calls, emergency calls, payment systems and so on.
Preferably, according to the present invention, said device 1 comprises a structure 11 having an inlet 11 a and an outlet 11 b, defining an inner surface 12 and an outer surface 13. Said structure 11 , in a preferred embodiment of the present invention, is schematically shown in Fig.1 . Moreover. Preferably said structure 11 comprises an electric supply, connected to an external electric power supply.
In alternative or combination with the abovementioned connection, said electric power supply may comprise the connection to a battery, or other kinds of electric generators, such as photovoltaic cells and/or dynamos and/or still other supplies, capable of making the device 1 totally or partially independent from outer power supplies.
Moreover, said device 1 preferably comprises a data connection.
Still preferably, said structure 11 comprises, on an inner surface 12, a system 16 of internal lighting, functionally connected with control electronics 2.
Preferably, said device 1 according to the present invention comprises control electronics 2, including dedicated hardware and software.
Still preferably, in device 1 , the control electronics 2 control operation of the device 1 . Control electronics 2 may include one or more prior art electronic cards, and may define a base logic, for instance through suitable firmware or software. These control electronics 2 may be easily implemented through programmable cards or microcontrollers.
Still preferably, said device 1 comprise presence sensors 3, functionally connected with said control electronics 2 and capable of activating the functionality of said device 1 . For instance, the device 1 may shift from an energy saving mode to a fully operative mode, as a function of the information received from the presence sensors 3. Alternatively, or in combination with the here described functions, said presence sensor 3 may activate a microphone 62 for playback of a welcome message.
Moreover, said device 1 may preferably comprise a noise cancellation system 4 for isolating an user of the device 1 from the ambient noise.
Preferably, said device 1 further comprises security systems 5.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, said security systems 5 comprise a defibrillator 51 , a surveillance telecamera 52 and an SOS control 53.
Still preferably, said device 1 comprises an integrated connectivity system 6, shown in Fig. 2, provided in at least one section of said internal surface 12 of said device 1.
Preferably, said integrated connectivity system 6 comprises controls 61 for giving orders to said device 1 , at least a microphone 62, at least a video camera 63, at least a cable connection 64 to an external device, at least a NFC antenna 65, Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi connections 66 to an external device, at least a loudspeaker 67 and a screen 68.
In addition, in an embodiment of the present invention, said device 1 further comprises sensors 7 of the quality of air surrounding said device 1 .
Furthermore, in an embodiment of the present invention, said device 1 further comprises meteo sensors 71 .
Moreover, in an embodiment of the present invention, said device 1 further comprises brightness sensors 8, functionally connected to said control electronics 2. Said brightness sensors are for instance suitable to modify the brightness of said screen
68, as a function of the brightness of the external environment.
A preferred embodiment of the present invention is a form of the device 1 , in which said dedicated software includes a software installed on an external device. For instance, said dedicated software is capable of connecting and/or detecting the presence of a dedicated application installed on an external device of a user, e.g. a smartphone, and allowing the access to an additional plurality of personalized functions. The smartphone may be useful at least to identify the user, or even to carry out other functions.
In addition, said device may preferably comprise also a sanitization system 9 for sanitizing said inner surface 12 of device 1 . For instance, said sanitization system 9 may be connected to said presence sensors 3 operatively connected to said control electronics 2, and when said presence sensors 3 detect exit of a user, said control electronics 2 may provide for the sanitization of the surfaces by means of said sanitization system 9.
Said sanitization system 9, as a structure, may comprise an ozonizer, one or more UV lamps, e.g. UV lamps having a germicide radiation UVGI, a dispenser of sanitizing substances in the form of aerosol, thereafter atomized, or a combination of these devices and others.
It is still a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a device 1 wherein said controls 61 for giving orders to said device 1 , comprise touchscreen controls 611 integrated into said screen 68 and/or voice controls 612. Moreover, said device 1 preferably further comprises a dispenser 10 for fragrances.
At last, it is a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a device 1 wherein said external surface 13 comprises a plurality of screens 131 . Said screens 131 are for instance capable of showing information on the functionalities admitted by the device, or on sightseeing places of the town where it is installed, law and order communications of the administrations. Information of public interest or meteo or still others.
The operation and the advantages of the device above described in structural terms, are hereinafter mentioned.
Said operation also defines a novel process to make videocalls. Preferably the user connects with the device 1 by means of his smartphone, at least by identifying himself, and makes use of some or all the above described devices to achieve the videocall.
The device 1 of the present invention is provided for being installed in any place
of a town, such as an avenue, a square, near big offices or shops, subway stations or airports; the device 1 of the present invention, for instance, is conceived advantageously to become part of crowded urban environments.
When a user of the device 1 enters said device, the presence and light sensors, the fragrance emitter and the noise cancellation system, allow a separation of the user from the surrounding environment, thus ensuring a feeling of comfort, privacy and safety for any activity.
Advantageously, said device 1 may be fully personalized according to the user’s needs, e.g. through speech commands 612 and microphone 62, a simple access to connectivity is given to users like elderly people.
Moreover, as to personalization of connectivity, the videocamera 63 and/or the presence sensors 3 may sense the user’s height and accordingly adjust at least said touch-screen commands 611 of said connectivity system 6 integrated on the inner surface 12 of the device.
Additionally, said internal lighting system 16 may give information on the status of said device 1 , such as a wait state, an online state, or even an alarm state as to security, for instance if persons are present round about, with risk of user’s privacy, or possible acts of vandalism.
Therefore, the device 1 of the present invention is a multifunctional hub, incorporating into a single device connectivity functions with high connectivity, privacy and safety, moreover allowing an easy access to said functions by a plurality of users, such as young people, elderly persons, disabled persons, but also tourists and generally foreigners and others.
It has to be pointed out that only some preferred embodiments were described and illustrated, but a number of variations, additions, modifications and/or various combinations of individual elements may be introduced, however without departing from the general innovative concept, nor from its scope of protection, as apparent also from the appended claims.
Claims
1 . Augmented connectivity device (1 ) for making videocalls comprising a structure (11 ) having an inlet (11a) and an outlet (11 b), defining an inner surface (12) and an outer surface (13), said device (1 ) comprising power supply (14), data connection (15), control electronics (2) comprising dedicated hardware and software, presence sensors (3) functionally connected to said control electronics (2) suitable for activating the functions of said device (1 ), a noise cancellation system (4) suitable for isolating a user of said device (1), security systems (5), and integrated connectivity systems (6) provided in at least a section of said inner surface (12) said integrated connectivity system (6) comprising commands (61 ) suitable for giving orders to said device (1 ), at least a microphone (62), at least a videocamera (63), at least an external device connection cable (64), at least an NFC antenna (65), Bluetooth and/or WiFi connections (66) to an external device, at least a speaker (67) and a screen (68).
2. Device (1 ) according to claim 1 , wherein said security systems (5) comprise a defibrillator (51 ), a security camera (52) and an SOS button (53).
3. Device (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said device (1 ) further comprises air quality sensors (7) for the air surrounding said device (1 ).
4. Device (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said device
(1 ) further comprises light sensors (8) functionally connected to said control electronics
(2).
5. Device (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said dedicated software comprises a software installed on an external device.
6. Device (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said device (1 ) further comprises a sanitation system (9) suitable for sanitizing said internal surface (12).
7. Device (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said commands (61 ) suitable for giving orders to said device (1 ) comprise touchscreen commands (611 ) integrated in said screen (68) and/or voice commands (612).
8. Device (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said device (1 ) further comprises a fragrances dispenser (10).
9. Device (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said outer
surface (13) comprises a plurality of screens (131).
10. Device (1) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said sanitation system (9) comprises an ozonizer, at least an UV lamp and a sanitizing substances dispenser.
