Description

The invention relates to a packaging device for a non-dimensionally stable object having a cuboid shape.

Such non-dimensionally stable objects mostly made of a fabric or fabric-like material are therefore flexible and their shape can be changed at will. Items of clothing such as pullovers or the like are only to be mentioned as examples, but also, for example, blankets. For storage purposes, but often also for sales purposes, ie when they are presented in the store, the objects are often folded or collapsed and have a cuboid shape or at least a shape that is close to a cuboid. Blankets, for example, are regularly folded into a cuboid shape, which is easily possible due to their regular rectangular shape. The items, for example the blankets, are generally not packaged, which means that although the blankets are folded up, they are then freely stacked and, in particular, are presented individually or stacked on top of one another in the shop.

In principle, it is possible to place such an object, for example such a blanket, in a box made of cardboard, for example, where it is protected, and these boxes can be stacked without any problems. The problem here, however, is that the content is not recognizable, i.e. it is not visible which cover or which cover pattern is contained. It is also not possible to carry out a haptic test. This is only possible if the box is opened completely, which is particularly difficult when the box is included in a stack from which it must first be pulled out.

The invention is therefore based on the problem of specifying a packaging device for such an object which is improved in comparison.

To solve this problem, the invention provides a packaging device for a non-dimensionally stable, cuboid object, comprising a sheet-like envelope made of flexible material, wrapped around the object and enveloping it on four sides, whose ends overlap in the enveloping position can be connected, as well as outer packaging either consisting of two packaging halves with a U-shaped cross-section made of a material that is stiffer than the cover material, each with two side legs and a middle leg connecting them, with the packaging halves placed against one another receiving the item wrapped in the cover between them and it on four sides, two of which are the open sides of the envelope, and which can be connected to one another with their side legs overlapping one another in the overlapping area, or consisting of a rectangular packaging section on which a plurality of linear embossed folds are provided in two longitudinal areas, along which the packaging blank can be folded into a rectangular shape with four side limbs, with two overlapping side limbs being connectable to one another in the overlapping area.

The packaging device according to the invention is therefore in two parts, it consists of an inner envelope and an outer packaging that is stiffer than the inner envelope. The inner envelope is of a flexible material, it is an appropriately sized, rectangular sheet-like envelope, most preferably of paper. It is dimensioned in such a way that it envelops the object, ie in particular the cuboid folded cover, on four sides, ie the underside, two vertical sides and the upper side, so that it can be wrapped around the object. The two overlapping envelope ends are fixed to each other. That is, the item is wrapped on four sides, but two opposite sides are open. The width of the envelope corresponds approximately to the width of the folded blanket or is slightly narrower.

The blanket wrapped in this way is then placed in the outer packaging. According to a first variant of the invention, the outer packaging itself consists of two packaging halves with a U-shaped cross section, which consist of a material that is significantly stiffer than the flexible, preferably paper envelope, preferably of cardboard or cardboard-like material. Each packaging half is U-shaped, ie it has a central limb and two adjoining side limbs which, at least in the packaging position, are at an angle of 90° to the central limb. For packaging, the wrapped cover is now placed in one half of the packaging or placed on its middle leg, after which the side legs, if they are not already standing vertically upwards, are folded up. Then the upper half of the packaging is put on in such a way that the middle leg closes the lower half of the packaging and the side legs of the upper half of the packaging at least partially or completely overlap the side legs of the lower half of the packaging. The respective overlapping side legs are then fixed to one another so that the outer packaging is ultimately closed. The wrapped cover is placed in the outer packaging in such a way that the two open cover sides are overlapped by the adjacent side legs of the outer packaging, while the sides closed by the cover are visible on the open sides of the outer packaging. Since the cover, as explained, does not completely enclose the received cover on the sides or the cover protrudes slightly at the edges, it is consequently visible at least at the edges despite being included in the outer packaging. This means that despite the packaging of the blanket, it can be seen which pattern the blanket has, or what color, and also, since it is slightly open, the blanket can be touched without having to take it out. In principle, of course, there is also the possibility, since the outer packaging is open on both sides here, to push the blanket and cover out of the outer packaging a little so that the two open cover sides are even more accessible.

The packaging device according to the invention therefore allows such cuboid objects such as folded blankets in particular on the one hand to pack and therefore to protect, but at the same time to offer the possibility in a simple way to recognize which blanket it is or to be able to touch the blanket. In addition, the stable outer packaging also offers the possibility of stacking the packed blankets in an attractive way and presenting them in the shop, since an orderly stack can be built up in which the individual blankets can be identified, unlike when the folded blankets are stacked one on top of the other resulting in misshapen, unstable stacks.

A further particular advantage of the packaging device according to the invention is that it offers the possibility of being able to pack objects or blankets folded at different heights with one and the same packaging device. As described, the two halves of the packaging are placed against one another so that their side legs overlap. With a blanket folded flat, the two halves of the packaging can now be pushed into one another relatively far, which means that the two side limbs overlap over a relatively large area up to a maximum of completely. The overall height of the outer packaging is then relatively low. In addition, the two halves of the packaging can of course also be positioned further apart, so that the degree of overlap is less, which means that a higher folded object or a higher folded blanket can be inserted. Ultimately, the maximum packaging height is defined by the fact that there must still be a minimal overlap to connect the side pieces. This means that objects of different heights can be packed with one and the same packaging device or one and the same outer packaging, since the outer packaging itself is flexible in terms of its height.

According to a second variant of the invention, it is provided that the outer packaging consists of a rectangular packaging blank, on which several linear fold embossings are provided in two longitudinal areas, along which the packaging blank can be folded to form a rectangle with four side legs, with two overlapping side legs can be connected to each other in the overlapping area. Instead of two packaging halves, only one appropriately dimensioned packaging or folding blank is used here. This is characterized by the fact that, seen in the longitudinal direction of the rectangular packaging blank, it has several linear folds in two spaced-apart longitudinal areas, i.e. straight lines and transverse to the longitudinal extent, as well as parallel fold embossings, i.e. defined fold lines, along which the packaging blank is folded can. In this way it is possible to fold a total of five side limbs, with the two end side limbs overlapping one another and being able to be fastened to one another. Because several embossed folds, ie defined creases, are provided in each area, a side limb forming the bottom can be folded, for example, which is adjoined on both sides by an initially even longer side limb. As a result of the multiple folding lines on both sides, only each side leg can be folded again, resulting in two side legs forming the side parts and two side legs forming the cover, which overlap and are connected. The height of the two side limbs forming the side parts can be varied, depending on which of the fold lines the two end side limbs are bent around. The shorter the two side parts are, the longer are the two terminal side limbs and the larger is their overlapping area, and vice versa. The maximum height is determined by the two fold lines that are furthest apart from each other, the minimum height by the fold lines that are directly next to the two fold lines that are closest to each other in both areas. Consequently, in this very simple way, too, an outer packaging can be produced which is variable in its height and is matched to the height of the object to be enclosed.

The envelope itself is preferably made of paper, since the envelope is visible on the open sides of the outer packaging, a somewhat more stable, heavy paper can be used, on which of course there are also corresponding imprints such as logos, brands or other images or descriptions can, which are of course also visible. Alternatively, a very thin, almost transparent and filigree-looking paper can be used. The outer packaging is preferably made of cardboard, i.e. also based on paper. The cardboard should have a sufficient weight per unit area so that it is sufficiently stable or rigid, meaning that the center leg and the side leg have sufficient inherent rigidity to stably enclose the object and allow it to be stacked. The outer packaging or the carton can of course also be printed accordingly, as already stated above for the cover. Since the carton as outer packaging is of course visible over a large area, ie at least the upper middle leg and the outer side legs, large-area printing can be used, for example with a logo or any pattern.

The envelope and the outer packaging are particularly preferably made from a recycled material, ie preferably from recycled paper or recycled cardboard, which is expedient for reasons of sustainability.

According to a particularly expedient development of the invention according to the first variant with the two packaging halves, it is provided that the side legs of both packaging halves have the same height. As stated, the side legs of the two halves of the packaging overlap, with the degree of overlap being variable depending on the height of the blanket being picked up. If both side legs now have the same height, the height being defined as the direction along which the degree of overlapping of the outer packaging can be changed, then there is a maximum height variation. In the smallest packaging position, the two side legs each overlap completely, precisely because they both have the same height. In the maximum packaging height, they are pulled apart to the maximum, only a residual overlap that serves to connect remains. The recording height then corresponds approximately to twice the side leg height, minus the small remaining overlap. This configuration is also advantageous from a manufacturing point of view, since the two packaging halves ultimately consist of an identical folding blank.

Furthermore, it is expedient if the packaging halves have the same width. This means that the outer packaging, which runs all around on four sides, has the same width everywhere. This configuration is in turn advantageous from the point of view of production technology, since both folding blanks can in turn be of identical design, even if the side limbs have the same height.

An alternative provides that one half of the packaging is wider than the other. This means that in the packaging position, one half of the packaging, for example the lower half of the packaging, is flush with the top half of the packaging on one side, but protrudes beyond the top half of the packaging on the other side, for example by several centimeters, e.g. B. 5 cm. This protruding section is defined by the middle limbs protruding in sections and by the side limbs protruding in sections. This protruding section forms a sort of support projection that makes it possible to push out the inner object, ie the wrapped blanket, but still rest it on the protruding section so that it is not unsupported. This can be useful for presentation purposes. Because, for example, the cover etc. can be pushed out of the outer packaging for presentation purposes, either a little or as far as the protruding section extends, in order to make the open sides of the envelope even more accessible.

According to a first variant, the two middle legs can have the same length. This is expedient when a thinner cardboard material is used, meaning that the side pieces are not too thick. Because then they can be placed on top of each other without any problems, even when the two halves of the packaging are pushed against each other to the maximum extent, i.e. the maximum degree of overlap is given, in which the two longitudinal ends of the inner side legs run against the middle leg of the other half of the packaging.

With a correspondingly thicker cardboard material, it would basically be conceivable that one central leg of one packaging half is shorter than the other central leg of the other packaging half by at least the same thickness as a side leg, in particular by twice the thickness of a side leg. This configuration according to the invention with the differently dimensioned central limbs makes it possible to compensate for the thickness of the side limbs, so that the side limbs can also be placed one on top of the other over a large area without the outer side limb protruding.

As described, the end of the envelope is fixed in the packaging position, ie the ends of the envelope are fastened to one another. Likewise, the overlapping side legs are attached to each other. For this purpose, a connecting means for connecting the ends of the envelope or the overlapping side limbs is expediently provided on at least one end of the envelope and on at least one side limb of each packaging half or on the side limbs of only one packaging half or both packaging halves. The corresponding fixation in the packaging position is achieved via these connecting means. An adhesive is preferably used as such a connecting means, for example a corresponding thin application of adhesive on the cover or the respective side leg, this application of adhesive preferably being covered with a removable protective strip, for example silicone paper. The adhesive or the application of adhesive is expediently applied in each case on the edge or on the edge in order to enable maximum pulling apart, in particular with regard to the side limbs. In the case of the envelope, however, the adhesive can, for example, also be an adhesive strip glued to the outside of the envelope, which protrudes at the edge, and which is then glued to the adjacent envelope surface in the envelope position.

If a corresponding connection means, in particular adhesive, is only provided at one end of the envelope or only at some side legs, then when the envelope is created and when it is assembled, the packaging halves, care must be taken to ensure that the cover or the packaging halves are correctly aligned so that the connecting means or the adhesive surfaces are correctly positioned and can be glued to the opposite side. In order to avoid time-consuming alignment, possibly associated with a search for where the respective connection means is, a further development of the invention provides that a connection means is provided at both ends of the cover and/or on both side legs of each packaging half. In this configuration, it does not matter whether the envelope is folded in from one side or the other, or whether the side limbs of one half of the packaging or the other half of the packaging are on the outside. In any case, appropriate connecting means or, in particular, adhesive means are provided in the areas where the connection is to be made.

The envelope itself can, for example, have a length of 40-120 cm and a width of 20-50 cm, while the packaging halves can have a width of 12-40 cm, with the central limbs having a length of 20-50 cm and the side limbs having a height of 5 - 15 cm. It should be noted here that the envelope and the outer packaging are positioned at a 90° angle to one another in the packaging situation. Both the envelope and the package halves each have a basic rectangular shape when laid flat. In the packaging situation, however, the width direction of the envelope runs in the length direction of the packaging halves, while the length direction of the envelope runs in the width direction of the packaging halves. Therefore, the width of the envelope ultimately corresponds to the length of the middle leg, while the length of the envelope ultimately corresponds to the width of the packaging halves and of course also to the height of the side legs, which define the height of the outer packaging.

In a development of the invention according to the second variant of the invention with the one-piece or one-piece packaging blank, it can be provided that at least three, preferably at least four, embossed folds are provided on the packaging blank in each longitudinal position. Training a correspondingly higher number of fold lines naturally allows a greater variation in terms of the height of the outer packaging, since there are several folding planes on the packaging or folding blank.

Furthermore, it can be provided that a first longitudinal area is provided adjacent to a longitudinal end and the second longitudinal area is provided in the area of the longitudinal center of the packaging blank. As a result, one of the two overlapping side limbs is significantly larger than the other, so that this forms the largest part of the visible lid, while the smaller side limb, which preferably extends from the larger partially to almost completely, depending on the height of the outer packaging , is overlapped, defines only a smaller part of the visible surface. Alternatively, the longitudinal areas can also be arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal center of the folding blank.

A connecting means for connecting the overlapping side limbs can be provided on at least one end of the cover and on at least one of the overlapping side limbs. It is also conceivable that a connecting means is provided on both ends of the cover and/or on both side legs of the packaging blank. In this case, each connecting means is preferably an adhesive, which is preferably covered with a removable protective strip.

The envelope can have a length of 40-120 cm and a width of 20-50 cm, and the packaging blank in the unfolded state can have a length of 80-160 cm and a width of 20-50 cm.

1 shows a packaging device 1 according to the invention, which makes it possible to pack an object that is not dimensionally stable and has a cuboid shape. It comprises an envelope 2 made of a flexible material, preferably paper and among them in particular recycled paper, which has a rectangular shape and is arch-like. Since it is flexible or consists in particular of paper, it can be wrapped around the cuboid object (not shown in detail), which is in particular a folded blanket, so that it encloses the blanket on four sides. At one end there is a connecting means 3 in the form of an adhesive 4 applied in particular via a removable protective paper, via which the folded envelope 2 can be fixed.

The packaging device 1 also includes an outer packaging 5 which consists of a first packaging half 6 and a second packaging half 7 . The outer packaging 5 or the packaging halves 6, 7 are made from a material that is significantly more stable than the flexible material of the envelope 2, preferably cardboard and, in turn, recycled cardboard underneath.

Each packaging half has a central leg 8, 9 and two side legs 10, 11. On the inside of the side legs 10, 11 there is in turn a connecting means 12, 13, again preferably an adhesive 14, 15 provided with a protective strip, which allows the overlapping side legs in the packaging position, which will be discussed below 10, 11 to connect to each other.

Since the packaging halves 6, 7 consist of a sufficiently stable cardboard, the central legs 8, 9 and the side legs 10, 11 are quasi intrinsically stable, they are only angled towards one another, which can be defined by introducing a corresponding folding groove, so that the central legs 8, 9 and the side legs 10, 11 are almost at right angles to each other.

The cover has a corresponding height, which is dimensioned such that the two side legs 10, 11 overlap it when the side legs 10, 11 are connected at the same time can. The width of the folded cover 17 corresponds approximately to the width of the envelope 4.

For packing, the blanket 17 is placed on the envelope 2, as in 6 is indicated. The cover 2 is then wrapped around the cover 17 so that it is gripped by the cover 2 on four circumferential sides. The envelope 2 is then connected to the adhesive 4 in the area of its overlapping ends, here on the top side. The adhesive 4 extends, as in figure 5 shown, preferably over the entire width. However, it is also conceivable to provide only local adhesive points, or an adhesive label or the like protruding at the edge.

The two side legs 10 run vertically downwards and also overlap the two side legs 11. The resulting total height of the overlapping side legs 10, 11 corresponds to the height of the cover 17. The two side legs 10, 11 are then attached via the adhesive 14 to the side leg 10, which overlaps the inner side leg 11, after the protective strip has been removed glued, so that a stable outer packaging 5 results.

The fully packaged item is in 10 shown in a perspective view. As can be seen, the envelope 2 is exposed on the front and rear open sides of the outer packaging 5 . This means that the cover 17 can easily be pushed slightly out of the outer packaging 5 so that the cover 17 can be viewed on the open cover pages, ie from the side. Their color or pattern can be recognized, but the haptics can also be checked manually, etc.

Overall, a correspondingly stable packaging is given, which is simply constructed and is also easy to handle. In particular due to the identical design of the packaging halves 6, 7 and the fact that adhesives 14, 15 are provided on both side legs 10, 11, it is possible that when attaching the outer packaging 5 it is not necessary to ensure that a specific packaging half is at the top or down to ensure bonding ability. Appropriate adhesives are provided on both, and the size is identical, so that one half of the packaging can be positioned at the top and the other at the bottom or vice versa.

Although only one adhesive 4 is provided on the cover 2 in the example, it would be equally conceivable to also provide an adhesive 4 on the opposite edge, so that here too it is not necessary to pay attention to which edge the adhesive is on or which edge is over and over which must be suppressed.

As described, the outer packaging consists of a sufficiently stable cardboard material, so it is also pressure-resistant because it is sufficiently inherently rigid. This allows see 11 To stack a variety of packaged objects, for example, on a pallet 18 for transport purposes, as of course there is also the possibility of stacking several packaged objects on top of each other in the shop for presentation purposes, as well as to form several parallel stacking rows. Because due to the inherent stability or dimensional stability of the outer packaging, stable stacks can be formed, within which a respective cover can also be viewed without any problems or even slightly pulled out without the respective stack becoming unstable.

A particular advantage of the packaging device 1 according to the invention lies in its height variability. This results from the fact that, according to the invention, the two U-shaped packaging halves 6, 7 are used, which are placed against one another or one engages the other with its side legs. Depending on how far both are pushed against each other, the height can be varied, as in the 12 - 14 is clearly shown. 12 shows the lowest outer packaging and thus the basic packaging height. Here the lower packaging half 7 has been inserted as far as possible into the upper packaging half 6 . This means that the side limbs 11 are completely overlapped by the side limb 10, the side limbs 11 rest with their upper edges so to speak on the middle limb 8 of the upper packaging half. The ceiling 17 is correspondingly low.

13 shows a packaging variant in which the two packaging halves 6, 7 are further pulled apart. This means that the cover 17 is folded much higher than in the example according to FIG 12 . As can be seen, the outer side limbs 10 no longer overlap the inner side limbs 11 completely, but only partially, with a sufficient degree of overlap still being provided.
