Abstract

The invention relates to a device for securing and releasing a pole or post of the type used in signposting, provided with secure means for preventing theft of the signs via locking elements which involve a pin and a padlock. The device is flush with the ground and has a cover for when it is not in use. The invention is intended for the signage, construction and civil engineering sectors.

Description

    Technical sector
  • The invention relates to a device that falls within the field of civil works and road signage, more specifically those called provisional signpost.
  • Object of the invention
  • Offer simple and low-cost means that allow the placement and removal of provisional signage with means of closure by lock independent of the device. The device must be capable of guaranteeing the high stresses generated by the load of the wind on the sign and the stresses derived from it.
  • Background of the invention
  • As background to the invention, the supports for temporary signs in general use are known, which are of low stability and must sometimes be used with different external elements of various kinds (wheels, bricks, sandbags, drums, stones, etc.). as a measure to ensure the maintenance of its balance. Inventions are known that instead of conventional cross brackets use ballast means combining an element that acts as a tank usually filled with water or sand with means to fix the signal post to it, as stated in patent document WO2008/003812 with the title modular metastable support for multipurpose assembly, other technical solutions use a support anchored to the ground that has a magnetic connection with a connection plate that contains the post, can be seen in US20020270790 of the applicant Pacific Cascade Parking Equipment Corporation, or others in the vicinity of the recommended because its base is embedded in the road or pavement with different solutions such as the beacon being pneumatic, whose inflation or does not allow fixing or removal respectively as ES2345586 of the applicant HINOTEC TECNOLOGÍA ESPAÑOLA S.L. Other known models that have a base embedded in the ground use a lid hinged to said base with closing means for both the base and the element to be retained, as shown in utility model document 219435 of the owner Francisco Caum Viader, the fact that the closing means are at ground level makes it impossible in practice to use security locks both because of the dirt that can enter the locks and because of the serious deterioration caused by humidity at ground level, limiting this type of devices to the use of universal type keys such as a square, triangle or similar, in addition these closures facilitate the theft of signs due to their low security.
  • The applicant does not know of solutions in the state of the art that solve these technical problems with the advantages of the advocated invention.
  • Description of the invention
  • The securing device and pole for temporary signs object of this invention allows to place a temporary sign in a simple and safe way and to remove it when it is no longer necessary. The invention makes it possible to place a conventional closure external to the device, such as a padlock, as a security means.
  • The device has a base with a hinged lid, which on its external face has some reliefs in order to act as a non-slip, the set can be installed in new construction by the conventional means used in civil works, whether these are concreted, asphalted or in the case of the sidewalk has a tile covering, it is also possible to install it in an existing work, being able to easily make a hole through a crown or other means that allow creating the cavity for its location, finally being flush with its cover in closed position.
  • The base has a complementary geometry to the pole of the signal that is to be installed, once the cover is opened, a portion of it can be inserted and fixed securely by means of the means described below, these means comprise a retaining element between the base and the pole made up of a rectangular plate that has a continuous through hole and that runs vertically within a complementary guide that presents the base located contiguous and parallel to the pole, to prevent the retainer from being extracted from the base, it has a blocker located in the upper portion of the base that is introduced through it and the through opening of the retainer, defining the maximum height to which this retainer can be moved vertically.
  • The pole of the signal has a through hole, which when the signal is inserted in the base and the retainer is completely extracted, allows, due to its coincidence, the placement of a safety pin through these two bodies, the pin has in one of its ends have a section larger than the diameter of the signal hole to act as a stop, in the other it has a transverse hole whose diameter allows a padlock to be inserted, the length of the pin must be at least the sum of the profile of the pole and the retaining element.
  • Description of the drawings
  • For a better understanding of what is described in this report, some drawings are attached in which, by way of example, a list of the figures of the proposed invention is represented.
    • Figure 1 shows the fixing device for provisional signs 1 with its lid closed in which the projections on its surface can be seen.
    • Figure 2 shows an isometric view of the different elements of the temporary sign fixing device, where: 2 represents the embedded base, 3 the cover, 4 the base/pole retainer, 5 the retainer blocker and 6 the padlock pin.
    • Figure 3 shows the embedded device, it can be seen how its cover is flush with the pavement.
    • Figure 4 shows how a portion of the pole of a signal is inserted in the device and blocked by the retaining element base/pole in cooperation with the pin for the padlock.
    Description of a preferred embodiment
  • By way of example, a preferred embodiment is cited, the materials used in its manufacture being independent of the object of the invention, as well as the application methods and all the accessory details that may occur, as long as they do not affect its essentiality.
  • The preferred description object of this memory gathers the characteristics of the first claim, in such a way that the base (2) in this embodiment has a cavity of rectangular section to house the pole of a provisional signal of identical shape, the clearance between both bodies is normally a few millimeters to prevent the signal from oscillating in adverse wind conditions.
  • The device for fixing provisional signs (1) is easy to install. In the case of an existing work, a hole is preferably made with a crown drill with the appropriate diameter and depth, after which it is enough to concrete, asphalt or as appropriate around its base, taking care that it is conveniently level according to the pavement and that it is flush, preventing it from integrating with the ground when not in use without generating any protrusion that could be dangerous, as can be seen in figure 3.
  • It has a lid (3) hinged on the base, which, in order to minimize the risk of a person slipping when stepping on it, has a surface on its visible face with a relief. The fixing of the pole is carried out through the cooperation of a retaining element (4) shaped as a rectangular plate with a through continuous hole that runs inside some guides that the base (2) has embedded, its movement in the vertical axis is limited by a blocking element (5) that is introduced through the body of the base penetrating the hole of the retainer, this limits the maximum height to which the retainer can be extracted. The signal has a through hole coinciding with the raised blocker (not shown), in such a way that a pin (8) can be introduced by both bodies, said pin has a larger section at one of its ends than the diameter of the hole in the pole as a stop, while its other end has a transverse hole for the introduction of a padlock, figures 2 and 4.
  • In order to obtain a low-cost product that facilitates its future application, preferably in this embodiment, the base, lid and locking element will be made of plastic, with its base/pole retainer and the padlock pin being metal for its greater robustness and inviolability.
