Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cleaning cloth made of a flat nonwoven fleece material with a bottom side and a top side comprising absorbent natural fibers and synthetic melt-binding fibers, wherein a partial, not full-surface coating is provided on at least one side, which gives the cleaning cloth an increased cleaning power.
  • the state of the art includes a variety of cleaning articles, e.g. for surface cleaning, in particular for household cleaning, as well as for skin cleansing, especially facial cleansing.
  • a cleaning cloth is available in the WO 2017/081285 which deals with the design of the coating lines.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a cleaning cloth which, while at the same time providing a good cleaning effect, provides sufficient absorption surfaces and provides particularly good sliding properties even on rougher floors.
  • the invention solves this problem by a cleaning cloth having the features of claim 1 and a method having the features of claim 14.
  • a cleaning cloth or cleaning article or wiping cloth whereby the terms are used synonymously, in the sense of the invention is intended to mean in particular cleaning articles for cleaning surfaces or objects (surfaces), such as in particular cleaning cloths, for example for household purposes or floor cleaning, but also in the kitchen or sanitary area, as well as for This includes cleaning panes and windows, etc.
  • Cosmetic cleaning items such as cosmetic pads and cosmetic tissues, are also included.
  • the cleaning items can vary in shape, size or thickness depending on their intended use.
  • the cleaning cloth is particularly preferably a floor cleaning cloth, i.e. a cleaning cloth that is intended for cleaning floors.
  • the natural fibers are naturally occurring and not chemically modified fibers or fibers consisting of natural polymers that have not been chemically modified.
  • the natural fibers are absorbent. Cellulose and especially cotton are particularly preferred here, as cotton has a good ability to store and absorb liquids.
  • other natural fibers can also be used, such as flax, abaca, hemp or ramie.
  • melt binding and microfibers according to the invention do not contain any naturally occurring polymers such as cellulose and are not based on naturally occurring polymers, which is what the term "synthetic" is intended to express.
  • melt-binding fibers are also provided in the fiber mixture. They can be brought into a melted and (partially) flowable state by the influence of heat, which enables partial embedding and bonding of other fibers.
  • the melt-binding fibers can thus give the cleaning cloth the strength required for wiping and cleaning.
  • the melt-binding fibers are preferably bicomponent fibers. These typically consist of a low-melting polymer component and a higher-melting polymer component, which preferably have a sheath-core arrangement. The sheath is formed by the low-melting component. The core is formed by the higher-melting component.
  • the terms "low” and “higher” are to be understood with reference to the respective other polymer component.
  • the melt-binding fibers can consist of polyesters, polyolefins (such as polypropylene or polyethylene), polyamides or mixtures thereof.
  • the melt-binding fibers preferably consist of polyesters, in particular polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyethylene terephthalate-co-isophthalate.
  • PET polyethylene terephthalate
  • the latter copolymer has a melting point of 110 °C, which is significantly lower than that of PET (approx. 255 °C).
  • the previously described sheath could therefore be formed from the copolymer.
  • the previously described core could then be formed by the PET.
  • the microfibers allow the cleaning cloth to absorb dirt better and improve its cleaning performance.
  • the microfibers can have a fiber fineness of 1 dtex or less, in particular 0.9 dtex or less. The finer the fibers, the better the cleaning performance of the cleaning cloth is generally.
  • the microfibers can consist of a polyester, a polyolefin (such as polypropylene or polyethylene) or a polyamide.
  • microfibers preferably consist of a polyester, in particular polyethylene terephthalate.
  • the strength is further significantly improved according to the invention in that the cleaning cloth has an embossing with raised, unembossed areas and deeper embossed areas on at least one side.
  • the embossing creates unembossed areas between the embossed areas that are less compacted.
  • the embossing further strengthens the surface and thus makes it more difficult to pull out fibers.
  • the deeper embossed areas prevent the wiper cloth from adhering to the surface to be cleaned over the entire surface, which reduces friction and consequently leads to improved sliding properties of the cloth. In the The high liquid absorption of the fiber mixture is fully maintained in the unembossed areas.
  • melt-bonding fibers and the embossing serve to make the cleaning cloth stable and resistant so that it remains intact when wiping and cleaning and has good gliding properties.
  • deeper refers to an area that is set back or pressed into the material relative to the unembossed surface.
  • Another advantage of the cleaning cloth according to the invention is that it can be produced comparatively inexpensively and has a high proportion of renewable and biodegradable material in the form of natural fibers, in particular cotton.
  • the cleaning cloth has an abrasive coating.
  • the abrasive coating is usually applied to the nonwoven material, for example using a gravure printing process.
  • the abrasive coating can be applied to just one side or to both sides of the nonwoven material.
  • the abrasive coating is preferably designed in strip or line form, whereby the strips or lines can advantageously also be patterned, for example in a grid pattern.
  • the height of the abrasive coating can be 0.1 mm to 0.8 mm, preferably 0.2 mm to 0.4 mm, which can be measured with a microscope. The height refers to the extent of the coating. perpendicular to the direction of the surface extension of the cleaning cloth.
  • the abrasive coating can comprise a synthetic polymer (plastic) such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), an amorphous polyalphaolefin (APAO), ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVAC), a polyamide (PA), an olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-O), a cross-linked olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-V), a thermoplastic copolyester (TPE-E), a urethane-based thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-U), a thermoplastic copolyamide (TPE-A), a thermoplastic styrene block copolymer (TPE-S), a styrene-ethylene-butadiene-styrene polymer (SEBS), styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) or st
  • the cleaning cloth consists essentially of the nonwoven material. Together with the aforementioned abrasive coating, the cleaning cloth then usually consists of the nonwoven material, the abrasive coating, optionally a liquid cleaning agent (in the case of a pre-moistened cleaning cloth) and optionally a suture material (if the cleaning cloth is sewn as described below) to make it a cleaning article which, for example, works together with a cleaning cloth holder.
  • a liquid cleaning agent in the case of a pre-moistened cleaning cloth
  • suture material if the cleaning cloth is sewn as described below
  • Nonwovens can be produced relatively easily and inexpensively.
  • the nonwoven material is usually consolidated by needling using high-pressure water jets (spunlace process). This can reduce the tendency of the surface to pill.
  • the nonwoven material is normally consolidated by partially melting the melt binding fibers. This can be used to adjust the tear resistance of the nonwoven material.
  • the embossed areas take up no more than 50% of the total area of the embossed side, in particular no more than 40%, further in particular no more than 30% and in particular at least 6%, in particular at least 8% and further in particular at least 10% and further in particular at least 15%.
  • sufficient consolidation of the surface is achieved by the embossed areas and, on the other hand, a sufficient area of non-embossed areas is provided which enable liquid absorption in a particularly advantageous manner. In this way, a good balance is provided between liquid absorption and sliding properties of a corresponding nonwoven material and a cleaning cloth made from it.
  • the embossing of the nonwoven material is preferably designed as a pattern.
  • the nonwoven material has an embossed pattern. This can significantly improve the strength and sliding properties of the cleaning cloth, which can be particularly important for floor cleaning applications, but also when other rougher surfaces, such as wooden surfaces, are to be cleaned.
  • the pattern application ensures that the embossing is defined.
  • the embossed pattern is preferably designed in the form of a grid, diamond, rod or honeycomb. In particular, the rod-shaped design of the embossed pattern is preferred here, or the design of embossed lines in a non-continuous manner.
  • the nonwoven material is provided with the embossed pattern over its entire length.
  • the embossed pattern can be formed, for example, by indentations on the side of the nonwoven material intended for cleaning, whereby the indentations are introduced into the nonwoven material using an appropriate embossing roller, for example.
  • the embossed pattern is created in the nonwoven material using a hot calender. This makes it possible to achieve a particularly durable embossing.
  • the embossing and the coating have a synergistic effect and complement each other in terms of their cleaning properties. It can be particularly preferred that the embossed areas and/or the coating is arranged in patterns, in particular patterns evenly distributed over the entire side.
  • the embossing and the coating are arranged on the same side of the nonwoven material, so that the abrasive properties are combined with the good sliding properties.
  • the embossing and coating are particularly preferably not designed as congruent patterns and in particular are not made up of parallel lines. This ensures that the coating does not lose its effect because it comes to lie in larger areas in the embossing and thus no longer rises above the base area. In this case, no more than 30%, in particular no more than 20%, in particular no more than 10%, in particular no more than 5%, in particular no more than 3% of the coating should come to lie in an embossed line. In this way, the effect of the coating would be invalidated or at least reduced.
  • the embossing can also preferably be linear, for example grid-shaped, whereby the lines can preferably be rod-shaped or dashed or dash-dotted. With regard to the patterns of the embossing and the design of embossed lines, what is stated below with regard to the patterns and line design for the coating can also apply.
  • the fleece material in the area of the raised areas i.e. in the area of the non-embossed areas, has a thickness of 1.5 to 7 mm, in particular 2 to 4 mm, at a pressure of 0.5 kPa.
  • the fleece material in the area of the deeper embossed areas, can have a thickness that is 0.1 - 0.6 mm, in particular 0.1 - 0.3 mm, less than the raised areas at a pressure of 0.5 kPa. This means that the depth of the deeper embossed areas in relation to the thickness of the raised areas can be 0.1 - 0.6 mm, in particular 0.1 - 0.3 mm, at a pressure of 0.5 kPa.
  • the specified values for the thickness refer to the dry, single-layer (i.e. not folded or placed on top of one another) fleece material.
  • the thickness of the fleece material can be determined using a specific measuring pressure of 0.5 kPa on a probe area of 25 cm 2.
  • a DMT thickness gauge from Schröder can be used.
  • the thickness can be determined in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9073-2: 1995.
  • the cleaning cloth in particular the nonwoven material, can be essentially rectangular and have a length of 10 cm to 60 cm and a width of 10 cm to 60 cm.
  • a surface cleaning cloth it can advantageously have a length of 18 cm to 40 cm, in particular of approximately 30 cm, and a width of 18 cm to 40 cm, in particular of approximately 30 cm.
  • a floor cleaning cloth it can advantageously have a length of 40 cm to 60 cm, in particular of approximately 43 cm, and a width of 10 cm to 20 cm, in particular of approximately 13 cm.
  • the preferred strip-like shape of the floor wiper fits the wiper holders of conventional mop systems. In the case of floor wipers for wiper holders, it can be provided that the material of the cleaning cloth is folded in half at least in some areas on the two shorter sides and sewn or welded to form pockets into which a wiper holder can then engage.
  • the coating density and/or embossing density should be determined using an imaginary grid, whereby a grid is understood to mean an arrangement of lines with parallel, equidistant lines running perpendicular to one another with an edge length of 7 mm for each grid square, in which a group of parallel, equidistant lines is cut by a second group of parallel, equidistant lines to form right angles.

The invention relates to a cleaning cloth made of a flat nonwoven fleece material with a bottom side and a top side comprising absorbent natural fibers and synthetic melt-binding fibers, wherein a partial, not full-surface coating is provided on at least one side, which gives the cleaning cloth an increased cleaning power.

The state of the art includes a variety of cleaning articles, e.g. for surface cleaning, in particular for household cleaning, as well as for skin cleansing, especially facial cleansing.

A cleaning cloth is available in the WO 2017/081285 which deals with the design of the coating lines.

It is also clear from the WO 03/104544 A1 A cleaning wipe with a structured coating application is known, wherein the pattern density of the coating application is comparatively uniform.

Weitere Reinigungstücher sind in der EP3167788 , DE102017003028 und WO00/27271 beschrieben.Additional cleaning cloths are available in the EP3167788 , DE102017003028 and WO00/27271 described.

Based on this prior art, the object of the present invention is to provide a cleaning cloth which, while at the same time providing a good cleaning effect, provides sufficient absorption surfaces and provides particularly good sliding properties even on rougher floors.

The invention solves this problem by a cleaning cloth having the features of claim 1 and a method having the features of claim 14.

A cleaning cloth or cleaning article or wiping cloth, whereby the terms are used synonymously, in the sense of the invention is intended to mean in particular cleaning articles for cleaning surfaces or objects (surfaces), such as in particular cleaning cloths, for example for household purposes or floor cleaning, but also in the kitchen or sanitary area, as well as for This includes cleaning panes and windows, etc. Cosmetic cleaning items, such as cosmetic pads and cosmetic tissues, are also included. The cleaning items can vary in shape, size or thickness depending on their intended use. The cleaning cloth is particularly preferably a floor cleaning cloth, i.e. a cleaning cloth that is intended for cleaning floors.

According to the invention, the cleaning cloth comprises a flat, non-woven fleece material with a bottom and a top, which is liquid-storing due to natural fibers. The fleece material can be understood as the material from which the cloth is essentially made. Liquid-storing or absorbent means that the fleece material can absorb liquid, whereby the fleece material can typically also release liquid again when wiping and cleaning. The fleece material is in the form of a fiber mixture. This means that the fleece material consists of various fibers that are mixed with one another and are not present separately from one another. According to the invention, the fleece material or the fiber mixture comprises at least absorbent natural fibers and synthetic melt-binding fibers. The fleece material or the fiber mixture can also contain other fiber materials, in particular synthetic microfibers. The fleece material or the fiber mixture can preferably comprise:
  • 35 wt.% to 75 wt.%, preferably 50 wt.% to 75 wt.% natural fibres, in particular cotton
  • 15 wt.% to 60 wt.%, preferably 20 wt.% to 45 wt.% synthetic melt binding fibers
  • 0 wt% to 35 wt%, preferably 5 wt% to 35 wt% synthetic microfibers

  • Naturfasern: 8 - 40 mm, bevorzugt 10 - 35 mm, besonders bevorzugt 12 - 30 mm
  • Schmelzbindefasern: 30 - 60 mm, bevorzugt 45 - 55 mm Mikrofasern: 15 - 50 mm, bevorzugt 30 - 45 mm
The above three fiber materials are typically staple fibers. The length of the individual fibers is preferably as follows:
  • Natural fibres: 8 - 40 mm, preferably 10 - 35 mm, particularly preferably 12 - 30 mm
  • Fusible bonding fibres: 30 - 60 mm, preferably 45 - 55 mm Microfibres: 15 - 50 mm, preferably 30 - 45 mm

The natural fibers are naturally occurring and not chemically modified fibers or fibers consisting of natural polymers that have not been chemically modified. The natural fibers are absorbent. Cellulose and especially cotton are particularly preferred here, as cotton has a good ability to store and absorb liquids. Alternatively, other natural fibers can also be used, such as flax, abaca, hemp or ramie.

The melt binding and microfibers according to the invention do not contain any naturally occurring polymers such as cellulose and are not based on naturally occurring polymers, which is what the term "synthetic" is intended to express.

According to the invention, synthetic melt-binding fibers are also provided in the fiber mixture. They can be brought into a melted and (partially) flowable state by the influence of heat, which enables partial embedding and bonding of other fibers. The melt-binding fibers can thus give the cleaning cloth the strength required for wiping and cleaning. The melt-binding fibers are preferably bicomponent fibers. These typically consist of a low-melting polymer component and a higher-melting polymer component, which preferably have a sheath-core arrangement. The sheath is formed by the low-melting component. The core is formed by the higher-melting component. The terms "low" and "higher" are to be understood with reference to the respective other polymer component.

The melt-binding fibers can consist of polyesters, polyolefins (such as polypropylene or polyethylene), polyamides or mixtures thereof. The melt-binding fibers preferably consist of polyesters, in particular polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyethylene terephthalate-co-isophthalate. The latter copolymer has a melting point of 110 °C, which is significantly lower than that of PET (approx. 255 °C). The previously described sheath could therefore be formed from the copolymer. The previously described core could then be formed by the PET.

Another advantage of the cleaning cloth is the preferred synthetic microfibers. The microfibers allow the cleaning cloth to absorb dirt better and improve its cleaning performance.

The microfibers can have a fiber fineness of 1 dtex or less, in particular 0.9 dtex or less. The finer the fibers, the better the cleaning performance of the cleaning cloth is generally. The microfibers can consist of a polyester, a polyolefin (such as polypropylene or polyethylene) or a polyamide.

The microfibers preferably consist of a polyester, in particular polyethylene terephthalate.

The strength is further significantly improved according to the invention in that the cleaning cloth has an embossing with raised, unembossed areas and deeper embossed areas on at least one side. The embossing creates unembossed areas between the embossed areas that are less compacted. The embossing further strengthens the surface and thus makes it more difficult to pull out fibers. Furthermore, the deeper embossed areas prevent the wiper cloth from adhering to the surface to be cleaned over the entire surface, which reduces friction and consequently leads to improved sliding properties of the cloth. In the The high liquid absorption of the fiber mixture is fully maintained in the unembossed areas. The melt-bonding fibers and the embossing serve to make the cleaning cloth stable and resistant so that it remains intact when wiping and cleaning and has good gliding properties. The term "deeper" refers to an area that is set back or pressed into the material relative to the unembossed surface.

Another advantage of the cleaning cloth according to the invention is that it can be produced comparatively inexpensively and has a high proportion of renewable and biodegradable material in the form of natural fibers, in particular cotton.

Das Material der abrasiven Beschichtung weist zudem bevorzugt eine Shore A-HärteIn order to further improve the cleaning performance, the invention provides that the cleaning cloth has an abrasive coating. The abrasive coating is usually applied to the nonwoven material, for example using a gravure printing process. The abrasive coating can be applied to just one side or to both sides of the nonwoven material. Furthermore, the abrasive coating is preferably designed in strip or line form, whereby the strips or lines can advantageously also be patterned, for example in a grid pattern. The height of the abrasive coating can be 0.1 mm to 0.8 mm, preferably 0.2 mm to 0.4 mm, which can be measured with a microscope. The height refers to the extent of the coating. perpendicular to the direction of the surface extension of the cleaning cloth. Furthermore, the abrasive coating can comprise a synthetic polymer (plastic) such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), an amorphous polyalphaolefin (APAO), ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVAC), a polyamide (PA), an olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-O), a cross-linked olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-V), a thermoplastic copolyester (TPE-E), a urethane-based thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-U), a thermoplastic copolyamide (TPE-A), a thermoplastic styrene block copolymer (TPE-S), a styrene-ethylene-butadiene-styrene polymer (SEBS), styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) or styrene-ethylene-propylene-styrene (SEPS) or consist of such a polymer. In particular, the abrasive coating comprises or consists of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). The material of the abrasive coating preferably has a Shore A hardness

von 50 bis 100, insbesondere von 70 bis 100, bestimmt nach DIN 53505:2000-08 und 35 ISO 868:2003(E), auf.from 50 to 100, in particular from 70 to 100, determined according to DIN 53505:2000-08 and 35 ISO 868:2003(E).

As already mentioned, the cleaning cloth consists essentially of the nonwoven material.

Nonwovens can be produced relatively easily and inexpensively. The nonwoven material is usually consolidated by needling using high-pressure water jets (spunlace process). This can reduce the tendency of the surface to pill. In addition, the nonwoven material is normally consolidated by partially melting the melt binding fibers. This can be used to adjust the tear resistance of the nonwoven material.

In particular, it can be provided that the embossed areas take up no more than 50% of the total area of the embossed side, in particular no more than 40%, further in particular no more than 30% and in particular at least 6%, in particular at least 8% and further in particular at least 10% and further in particular at least 15%. In this way, it can be achieved that, on the one hand, sufficient consolidation of the surface is achieved by the embossed areas and, on the other hand, a sufficient area of non-embossed areas is provided which enable liquid absorption in a particularly advantageous manner. In this way, a good balance is provided between liquid absorption and sliding properties of a corresponding nonwoven material and a cleaning cloth made from it.

Furthermore, the embossing of the nonwoven material is preferably designed as a pattern. According to this particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the nonwoven material has an embossed pattern. This can significantly improve the strength and sliding properties of the cleaning cloth, which can be particularly important for floor cleaning applications, but also when other rougher surfaces, such as wooden surfaces, are to be cleaned. The pattern application ensures that the embossing is defined. The embossed pattern is preferably designed in the form of a grid, diamond, rod or honeycomb. In particular, the rod-shaped design of the embossed pattern is preferred here, or the design of embossed lines in a non-continuous manner.

Usually, the nonwoven material is provided with the embossed pattern over its entire length. The embossed pattern can be formed, for example, by indentations on the side of the nonwoven material intended for cleaning, whereby the indentations are introduced into the nonwoven material using an appropriate embossing roller, for example. In particular, the embossed pattern is created in the nonwoven material using a hot calender. This makes it possible to achieve a particularly durable embossing.

The embossing and the coating have a synergistic effect and complement each other in terms of their cleaning properties. It can be particularly preferred that the embossed areas and/or the coating is arranged in patterns, in particular patterns evenly distributed over the entire side.

Particularly preferably, the embossing and the coating are arranged on the same side of the nonwoven material, so that the abrasive properties are combined with the good sliding properties.

Furthermore, the embossing and coating are particularly preferably not designed as congruent patterns and in particular are not made up of parallel lines. The embossing can also preferably be linear, for example grid-shaped, whereby the lines can preferably be rod-shaped or dashed or dash-dotted. With regard to the patterns of the embossing and the design of embossed lines, what is stated below with regard to the patterns and line design for the coating can also apply.

It is particularly preferred that the fleece material in the area of the raised areas, i.e. in the area of the non-embossed areas, has a thickness of 1.5 to 7 mm, in particular 2 to 4 mm, at a pressure of 0.5 kPa. Furthermore, in the area of the deeper embossed areas, the fleece material can have a thickness that is 0.1 - 0.6 mm, in particular 0.1 - 0.3 mm, less than the raised areas at a pressure of 0.5 kPa. This means that the depth of the deeper embossed areas in relation to the thickness of the raised areas can be 0.1 - 0.6 mm, in particular 0.1 - 0.3 mm, at a pressure of 0.5 kPa. The specified values for the thickness refer to the dry, single-layer (i.e. not folded or placed on top of one another) fleece material. The thickness of the fleece material can be determined using a specific measuring pressure of 0.5 kPa on a probe area of 25 cm 2. In particular, a DMT thickness gauge from Schröder can be used. In addition, the thickness can be determined in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9073-2: 1995.

The cleaning cloth, in particular the nonwoven material, can be essentially rectangular and have a length of 10 cm to 60 cm and a width of 10 cm to 60 cm. As a surface cleaning cloth, it can advantageously have a length of 18 cm to 40 cm, in particular of approximately 30 cm, and a width of 18 cm to 40 cm, in particular of approximately 30 cm. As a floor cleaning cloth, it can advantageously have a length of 40 cm to 60 cm, in particular of approximately 43 cm, and a width of 10 cm to 20 cm, in particular of approximately 13 cm. The preferred strip-like shape of the floor wiper fits the wiper holders of conventional mop systems. In the case of floor wipers for wiper holders, it can be provided that the material of the cleaning cloth is folded in half at least in some areas on the two shorter sides and sewn or welded to form pockets into which a wiper holder can then engage.

Further preferred embodiments can be specified with regard to the density of the coating and/or embossing. The coating density and/or embossing density should be determined using an imaginary grid, whereby a grid is understood to mean an arrangement of lines with parallel, equidistant lines running perpendicular to one another with an edge length of 7 mm for each grid square, in which a group of parallel, equidistant lines is cut by a second group of parallel, equidistant lines to form right angles. In the grid thus created, on which the cleaning cloth can be placed as desired, i.e. there is no preferred direction of the grid, at least 5 grid squares per 25 cm 2 should have a first degree of coating and/or embossing coverage of at least 15% and thus a high degree of coverage and at least 5 grid squares per 25 cm 2 should have a second degree of coating and/or embossing coverage of at most 8%. and thus a comparatively low degree of coverage. By definition, only those grid squares that lie completely within the area of the cleaning cloth are to be used for the determination. Grid squares that are cut by the edge of the cleaning cloth are not taken into account when considering the grid squares to be counted.

The information "per 25 cm 2 " is understood as a reference value. The entire side surface of the cleaning cloth is considered in the evaluation. In the case of cleaning cloths with a smaller or larger dimension than 25 cm 2 , the number of grid squares with the first and second degree of coverage determined on the first side surface of the cleaning cloth is converted accordingly and standardized to 25 cm 2 .

The degree of coverage is understood to be the area covered by the coating and/or embossing within a grid square in relation to the area of the grid square. Any evaluation method, e.g. computer-aided graphics and drawing programs, can be used to evaluate the degree of coverage of the coating and/or embossing in relation to the respective grid squares.

In this way, a cleaning cloth can be provided which, due to areas with a relatively high degree of coverage by a high coating density and/or embossing density, in particular a large Coating density and/or embossing density on coating lines and/or embossing lines, has a good cleaning effect for dirt and good sliding properties. On the other hand, such a cleaning cloth offers a sufficient absorption or receiving surface for the components released by the surface to be cleaned, such as dirt particles or moisture, due to a large number of areas that only have a low degree of coverage. Such absorption or receiving surfaces can then also have a certain softness compared to hard surfaces, for example if a household cloth is to be produced.

The coating and/or embossing of the cleaning article preferably comprises coating lines and/or embossing lines. A full-surface coating of the cleaning cloth in the sense of a continuous, area-wide, uninterrupted application is not intended. In addition to the coating and/or embossing in the form of coating lines and/or embossing lines, partial area-wide coatings and/or embossing or point-shaped coatings and/or embossing can also be provided.

However, coatings and/or embossings that deviate from linear coatings and/or embossing should be taken into account in the determination of the degree of coverage. This means that the respective degrees of coverage are determined by the Coatings arranged in grid squares regardless of their design.

However, exclusively flat or exclusively homogeneously distributed point-shaped coatings and/or embossing are not in accordance with the invention. Linear coating and/or embossing (coating line/embossing line) is understood to mean in particular an element in which a line width of at least 0.2 mm is provided and the line has a length that is at least five times the line width.

The linear coatings and/or embossing can in principle have both straight lines and curved lines, as well as intersecting straight or curved lines. The lines can in principle be designed both continuously and at least partially interrupted, as long as the line remains clearly recognizable as such. This means that dashed (rod-shaped), dash-dotted or dotted coating lines are also conceivable within the meaning of the present invention. In particular, the interrupted areas must not be longer than ten times, in particular not longer than eight times, in particular not longer than six times, in particular not longer than four times the line width of the line adjacent to the interrupted area. Grid-, honeycomb- or diamond-shaped patterns consisting of coating lines and/or embossing lines are particularly preferred.

In particular, it is provided that the coating and/or embossing covers the cleaning cloth and in particular the first side surface (top or bottom) essentially over its entire extent, i.e. not just specific areas, such as the middle or outer area of the cleaning cloth. It is therefore preferably provided that the coating and/or embossing extends over the entire at least first side surface of the cleaning cloth, whereby depending on the intended pattern, individual areas of the cleaning cloth, such as the middle or edge area, can vary with regard to the pattern density within the scope of the present invention. It is also conceivable to apply different patterns in some areas of the cleaning cloth than in other areas. For example, a different coating or embossing can be provided in the middle area than in the edge area.

Furthermore, it can be provided that the coating and/or embossing are evenly or unevenly distributed over the surface of the cleaning article.

Preferably, only the first side surface is coated and/or embossed. According to another embodiment, however, both side surfaces can be coated and/or embossed. Accordingly, the cleaning cloth has a coating and/or embossing on the first and second side surfaces. The cleaning cloth can thus be used by the user for more intensive cleaning processes can be used without regard to the orientation of the cleaning cloth.

The coating features and/or embossed features can be different or identical in terms of their geometric shape and/or dimensions on the upper and lower surfaces. The various properties of the cleaning article, such as degree of coverage, friction force, absorption properties, etc., can be taken into account and implemented by adjusting the coating and embossed patterns.

The line width of the coating line and/or embossed line can be at least 0.2 mm, in particular at least 0.4 mm, in particular at least 0.5 mm and more particularly at least 0.6 mm. The line width should preferably be at most 2.0 mm, more particularly at most 1.6 mm, more particularly at most 1.2 mm and more particularly at most 1.0 mm. The length of the embossed and/or coating line in relation to the line width should in particular be at least 5 times, preferably at least 6 times, more preferably at least 8 times and more preferably at least 10 times the line width.

Preferably, the entire coating is raised above the upper surface of the nonwoven material.

The basis weight of the coating can be at least 5 g/m 2 , in particular at least 10 g/m 2 , more particularly at least 15 g/m 2 and more particularly at least 20 g/m 2 . The upper surface weight should preferably be limited to 50 g/m 2 , more particularly to a maximum of 30 g/m 2 and more particularly to a maximum of 25 g/m 2 .

The coating is preferably homogeneous in its composition. Preferably, no abrasive particles are added to the coating. Alternatively, abrasive particles can also be provided.

The coating lines are preferably applied by means of a roller which has an engraving corresponding to the pattern (sum of the individual patterns).

The cleaning cloth can be designed with one or more layers in relation to the nonwoven material and is in particular a fiber material, in particular a nonwoven material, in relation to all layers. The nonwoven materials also comprise, in the other layers, if provided, natural fibers, in particular cellulose-based fibers, such as cotton or viscose, as well as synthetic fibers, such as polyester fibers, preferably polyester bicomponent fibers and/or preferably polyester microfibers, polypropylene fibers or mixtures thereof.

In the case of a voluminous design of the cleaning article, especially if it is a cotton-like product, such as cosmetic pads, the nonwoven material has a particularly high Nonwoven material, a basis weight preferably of at least 80 g/m 2 , more preferably of at least 100 g/m 2 , more preferably of at least 150 g/m 2 , more preferably of at least 200 g/m 2 , more preferably of at least 260 g/m 2 , more preferably of at most 350 g/m 2 , more preferably of at most 320 g/m 2 .

In a more cloth-like design of the cleaning article, the basis weight can preferably be at most 100 g/m 2 , preferably at least 30 g/m 2 and particularly preferably at least 40 g/m 2 .

The cleaning cloth is intended in particular as a disposable item for one-time use, i.e. as a single-use product. In principle, however, cleaning cloths that can be washed or cleaned, i.e. designed as reusable items, are also conceivable, e.g. in the household sector. The cleaning cloth can be dry-packaged by the manufacturer or pre-moistened. In the second case, it can be pre-moistened with cleaning fluid and packaged by the manufacturer in a moisture-proof manner. It can therefore be used immediately without having to keep any additional fluid on hand, which is particularly advantageous when cleaning fluid is not readily available, e.g. when traveling, etc.

The product can be presented as a single unit or with several cleaning wipes in a package, which in this case is preferably resealable. This applies to both dry and pre-moistened containers. In this way, a cleaning cloth can be provided which has particularly favorable properties with regard to abrasive properties, absorption properties and sliding properties.

Finally, the invention relates to a method for producing a cleaning cloth of the type described above for cleaning objects and/or surfaces. The method comprises the following steps:
  1. i. Providing a fiber blend comprising or consisting of natural fibers and synthetic melt-binding fibers and optionally synthetic microfibers.
  2. ii. Solidification of the fibre mixture by needling using high-pressure water jets (spunlace process) and by partial melting of the melt-binding fibres, whereby a liquid-storing nonwoven material of the cleaning cloth is formed.
  3. iii. Embossing the nonwoven material so that the nonwoven material is provided with an embossed pattern. The embossing is advantageously carried out using a hot calender.
  4. iv. Applying an abrasive coating to the nonwoven material.
  5. v. Optionally forming two pockets for attachment to a cleaning device, in particular a mop holder, wherein the pockets are formed by sewing the nonwoven material or by ultrasonic welding of the nonwoven material.

To carry out the individual steps, conventional techniques known to those skilled in the field of textile production, in particular nonwoven production, such as the use of embossing rollers (with reference to step iii.), the screen printing process or the gravure printing process (with reference to step iv.) can be used. A thread made of a natural material such as cotton or a synthetic thread (plastic thread) can be used as the suture material for sewing the nonwoven material. The proposed method can also be used to produce the preferred embodiments of the cleaning cloth (and combinations thereof) described in the present application. The cleaning cloths produced according to this method thus optionally have the features of the previously described preferred embodiments of the cleaning cloth according to the invention.

In der Zeichnung zeigen:Further features and details as well as advantages of the invention emerge from the drawing and the following description of the cleaning article according to the invention. In the drawing:

Figur 1 bis 4 eine Darstellung eines erfindungsgemäßen Reinigungsartikels. Figure 1 to 4 a representation of a cleaning article according to the invention.

Figure 1 shows one side of a cleaning cloth according to the invention in a preferred embodiment. The cleaning cloth is intended as a floor wiper. A ruler is placed on the cleaning cloth to illustrate the proportions. You can see in Figure 1 in particular the abrasive coating of the cleaning cloth. This consists of a material commonly used as a hot melt adhesive, namely ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA).

The abrasive coating is designed in a linear manner, with the coating lines being patterned in a grid-like manner.

The abrasive coating can further improve the cleaning performance of the cleaning cloth, which can be particularly beneficial when removing stubborn dirt.

The Figures 2 to 4 show in the upper half of the picture further preferred embodiments of floor cleaning cloths according to the invention. These are in addition to the already mentioned in connection with Figure 1 The abrasive coating described above is also provided with an embossed pattern. The course of the embossed pattern is shown in the lower half of the Figures 2 to 4 additionally shown in the form of technical drawings (not to scale). The patterns are formed by depressions on the side of the cleaning cloths intended for floor contact and are embossed into the wipes using appropriate rollers. The embossed pattern from Figure 2 is referred to here as diamond-shaped. The embossed pattern of Figure 3 is referred to here as rod-shaped (also dashed or dash-dotted), although as can be seen from the figure, this also includes point-shaped embossing. The last embossing pattern shown as an example from Figure 4 is referred to here as honeycomb-shaped.

As can be seen from the figures, the embossed patterns are comparatively fine and closely meshed. The side length of the Figure 2 shown diamonds are actually only about 2.4 mm. The lengths of the "rods" made of Figure 3 is actually only about 3.2 mm or 4 mm. The side lengths of the honeycombs made of Figure 4 are in reality only about 6 mm. With a full-surface, i.e. over the entire surface distributed embossed pattern as in the Figures 2 to 4 shown, the sliding properties of the floor wipers can be improved.

Ausführungsbeispiel eines erfindungsgemäßenEmbodiment of an inventive ReinigungsartikelsCleaning items

In a preferred embodiment, the cleaning cloth consists of a nonwoven material consisting of a fiber mixture of natural fibers (eg cotton) and polyester-based bicomponent fibers as synthetic melt-bonding fiber. This nonwoven material is consolidated by partially melting the bicomponent fibers to form a bond between the fiber mixture. The surface is also consolidated by water jet needling.

In order to obtain a product according to the invention, the nonwoven material is further characterized by subsequent thermal calendering. In addition, an abrasive material is only partially applied to the material in such a way that there are large, uncoated areas in which the cloth has unhindered contact with the floor during the cleaning process.
