  • a waterproof housing capable of enclosing or supporting the battery
  • housing an electronic control card and carrying an optical unit comprising at least one lens to adapt the light beam provided by the light-emitting diodes.
  • One or more buttons positioned on the housing allow you to control the lamp and for example to adjust the intensity and shape of the beam.
  • the housing is often made of plastic material and is manufactured by molding, which requires the creation of a suitable mold. Creating the mold is a complex and particularly expensive operation, requiring profitability.
  • the plastic case can be fragile.
  • assembling the light block is not always simple and may require many steps.
  • the arm is fixed only to the front bezel of the light unit.
  • the case is tubular to accommodate a battery in the 18650 or 21700 type format.
  • the optical unit is made up of a single piece of plastic material.
  • the rear base is composed of a single piece of metallic material, machined on one side to make said imprint.
  • the front window is made up of a single piece of metallic material.
  • the optical unit comprises several optical elements, and the electronic card carries at least two light-emitting diodes positioned to generate a light signal through the same first optical element.
  • said first optical element has a symmetry of revolution around an axis and in that the two light-emitting diodes are positioned offset relative to the axis of this first optical element.

  • 3D printing has certain advantages in terms of flexibility, it can be limited in terms of yield and production capacity.
  • the light block of the invention is thus designed from several machined plates assembled together and forming several layers, like a sandwich. These manufacturing methods can be adapted to different types of materials (aluminum, plastic, composite, even wood, etc.), which makes them particularly interesting.
  • the stratified structure of the light block allows each layer to provide a potentially different function: cooling, shock resistance, light diffusion, waterproofing, support for electronic components, etc.

It comprises a rear face 440 arranged to come to bear against the front face 421 of the rear base 42, on the surface which is located on the periphery of its housing 422, by crushing the seal and closing the housing to enclose the electronic card 43.
  • the optical unit 44 can be composed of a simple single piece made of plastic material, for example by molding or other manufacturing process.
  • the optical block 44 then includes one or more lenses formed in the block of material.
  • the optical unit 44 can also be composed of a machined plate (plastic or other) to form several housings into which standard lenses, for example commercially available, are inserted. This latter solution offers in particular great flexibility in terms of manufacturing and makes it possible to easily adapt and modify the optical unit 44.
  • each lens of the unit is intended to be positioned opposite one or more of the light emitting diodes 431 of the light source.
  • Each lens is shaped to ensure the creation of beams at the output of the light block.
  • the optical unit also includes a front bearing surface 441, made around the periphery of its lenses and forming a shoulder between a rear part and a projection 442.

  • the front bezel 45 can be in the form of a hollowed-out plate, for example by machining, to form an axial opening 452.
  • the bezel 45 is arranged to come to bear against the bearing surface 441 of the optical unit 44, its axial opening 452 being designed to be crossed by the projection 442 of the optical unit 44 and to follow the contour of said projection 442.
  • the front window 45 can be formed from a single piece, advantageously made of metallic material, for example aluminum.
  • the front bezel 45 also has on its rear face 451 several axial threads (not visible on the figure 2 ), positioned to coincide with the axial holes made both through the rear base 42 and the optical unit 44.
  • the light block 41 includes fixing means arranged to fix the parts together, to form a structure with several layers (rear base + optical unit + front bezel). These fixing means are intended to fix the rear base 42 on the front window 45 by enclosing the optical block 44. The optical block 44 is thus sandwiched between the two parts formed of the rear base and the front window.
  • the fixing means may comprise several screws 46 each inserted in a separate well, their screw head bearing against the rear face 420 of the rear base 42, each screw passing through a hole in the rear base, a hole in the optical unit and having its tip screwing into a separate thread of the front bezel 45.

  • this battery pack 40 may include a housing 400 or envelope, for example made of plastic or metallic material of the aluminum type, delimiting a reception space in which a battery can be placed.
  • This box 400 is composed of an elongated receptacle, open at one end to reveal the electrical contacts of the battery and closed at the other end by a closable cap on the receptacle, for example by screwing.
  • the housing 400 can be tubular in shape to accommodate 18650 or 21700 type batteries. It is fixed to the light block 41 by its first end, and its second end, which is closed by the cap, is left free, thus allowing attachment by sliding or sliding.
  • the light device 4 comprises a single fixing arm 47 of the battery block 40.
  • This arm 47 can be in the form of a support fixed to the light block and (advantageously only) to the front bezel 45 of the light block 41, said arm advantageously extending in a vertical plane perpendicular to the superposition planes of the parts of the light block.
  • the front window 45 may include means for fixing said arm 47, for example composed of screws inserted axially. It should be noted that the arm could be fixed on the rear base 42 but the fixing on the front bezel 45 provides a gain in compactness and robustness.
  • the support carries a housing 470 arranged to accommodate the battery pack 40.
  • This housing is oriented so that the battery block 40 extends, along its axis of revolution, in a horizontal direction (Y) parallel to the superposition planes of the parts of the light block ( figures 4 and 5 ).
  • the housing 400 of the battery pack may include at its first end an external thread for screwing onto an internal thread of the receiving housing 470.
  • the housing 470 advantageously includes electrical contacts to which the electrical contacts of the battery are connected, when the housing 400 is screwed into the housing 470.
  • the arm can integrate electrical connection means connecting these electrical contacts to electrical connection points of the electronic card 43 of the light block 41.
  • the battery unit 40 may include an extension unit, intended to connect the light unit 41 to a remote battery.
  • This extension unit can be in the form of a box identical to the box 400, screwed into the housing 470 and carrying an electrical connection arranged to electrically connect the electrical contacts present in the housing 470 to a remote battery, via a connection flexible, for example an electric cable.
  • the battery can be placed in a bag carried by the individual.
  • the light device 4 can be removably fixed on a support 3.
  • the support can be attached to a strap 2 of a headlamp, to the handlebar of a bicycle or to a helmet, for example a caving or mountaineering helmet.
  • the support 3 can cooperate with the light device via the battery pack 40.
  • the support may include fixing means by interlocking or by sliding arranged to cooperate with the housing of said battery pack.
  • these fixing means may comprise a part with an unclosed circular section, forming a non-articulated and deformable clamp, on which the battery pack case is fixed by nesting or by sliding.
  • FIGS. 6A and 6B present two configurations of possible combinations of light-emitting diodes and the optical unit 44.
  • the optical unit 44 comprises several optical elements, each forming a separate lens.
  • Each optical element can be in the form of a truncated cone whose small base is located towards the rear in front of a light source and the large flared base is located forward to define the shape and size of the emitted light beam.
  • the optical unit 44 may comprise three optical elements juxtaposed in the plane of the optical unit, for example each formed of an identical truncated cone, a central optical element O2 and two lateral optical elements O1, O3.
  • the optical elements are, for example, all identical.
  • the electronic card carries two light-emitting diodes D1_1, D1_2 of distinct characteristics associated with a first lateral optical element O1 of the block.
  • the two light-emitting diodes are, for example, distinct in power and size.
  • the electronic card carries two light-emitting diodes D2_1, D2_2 with identical characteristics associated with the central optical element O2 of the block.
  • the electronic card carries a single light-emitting diode D3_1 associated with the second lateral optical element O3.
  • This first configuration favors the topology of the beam with the possibility of creating a narrow or wide or eccentric beam of different colors.
  • the light-emitting diodes can be offset with respect to the symmetry of revolution of their optical element. This is the case for the first lateral optical element O1 and for the central optical element O2. We thus create particular beams, while maintaining symmetrical standard optics. This makes it possible in particular to facilitate the manufacturing and assembly of the optical unit.
  • the optical unit 44 comprises seven optical elements O10 arranged in a staggered manner.
  • the electronic card 43 carries seven light-emitting diodes D10, each associated with a separate optical element of the block.
  • the optical elements are, for example, all identical and so are the light-emitting diodes.
  • This second configuration favors light output and therefore power.
  • the beam produced is more classic than in the first configuration but the efficiency is maximum (30 to 40% higher).
  • the invention it should be noted that it is easy to easily change the characteristics of the light block, without having to redesign everything. It is thus possible to keep the same lenses (the only potentially expensive parts in terms of mold) and only change the type of light-emitting diodes (color, size, power) and adapt their position on the electronic card. Thus, we can profoundly change the characteristics of the beam to adapt it to specific needs (for example, red lamp for beekeeper, very narrow beam for well exploration, very wide beam for video, etc.). This architecture makes it possible to create so-called “expert” lamps for niche markets while maintaining a low cost price (no redesign, no investment in a new production tool).
