Description

Title: Door Profile
The present invention relates to a U-shaped profile for connection to an edge of an entrance system, such as a pass door opening. It specifically relates to a door profile for passdoor that is watertight and insulated.
Background of the invention
When mounting or arranging a passdoor in a garage door or a port door it is important that the passdoor does not lower the insulation of the door too much or create leaks in the door at which water and wind can pass the door.
A passdoor in a sectional door is often mounted on site after the sectional door has been mounted in the opening. U-profiles is used to enclose the edges of the passdoor opening and the edges of the pass door and to be the doorframe of the passdoor.
A known problem with passdoors of sectional door are that they reduce the insulation of the door and could be the source of water leaks as they are hard to make waterproof/weatherproof.
There is thus a need for a way to reduce the impact on insulation and weatherproofing of a door and especially a door that is mounted on site, such as a passdoor of a sectional door.
Summary of the invention
An object of the present disclosure is to provide a door profile, which seek to mitigate, alleviate, or eliminate one or more of the above-identified deficiencies in the art and disadvantages singly or in any combination.
An object of the present disclosure is to provide a U-shaped profile that reduces the risk of that water leaks and increase the insulation of the door.
In this disclosure, a solution to the problem outlined above is proposed. In the proposed solution, a U-shaped profile for connection to an edge of an entrance system is disclosed. The u-shaped profile comprise a first L-shaped profile and a second profile. The first L-shaped profile, comprise a back portion and a wing portion. The wing portion of the first L-shaped profile constitute, in an assembled state, a first wing of the u-shape of the u-shaped profile. An edge of the back portion of the first L- shaped profile is configured to be connected to an edge second profile. The back portion of the first L-shaped profile, in a connected state, constitute at least a part of the back of the u-shape.
By the U-shaped profile according to the above, the U-shaped profile could be connected/mounted to an edge with a movement that is parallel with the edge and not perpendicular to the edge.
A further advantage is that the U-shaped profile could be tightly fitted to enclose the edge without the risk of damage the entrance system when the
connecting/mounting the U-shaped profile.
According to an aspect the second profile is a L-shaped profile. The second L- shaped profile comprise a back portion and a wing portion, the wing portion of the second L-shaped profile constitute a second wing of the u-shape of the u-shaped profile, the edge of the back portion of the first L-shaped profile is configured to be connected to an edge of the back portion of the second L-shaped profile, and the back portions of the first and second L-shaped profile, in a connected state, constitute at least a part of the back of the u-shape.
According to an aspect the u-shaped profile is a doorframe profile. According to an aspect the u-shaped profile is a door profile.
According to an aspect the doorframe profile is a passdoor doorframe profile. According to an aspect the door profile is a passdoor profile.
According to an aspect the u-shaped profile comprise a locking device configured to connect the edge of the back portion of the first L-shaped profile to the edge of the back portion of the second L-shaped profile or to the second profile.
According to an aspect the locking device comprise an insulation part insulating the back portion of the first L-shaped profile from the back portion of the second L- shaped profile. By having an insulation part insulating the first L-shaped profile from the second profile the transfer of energy by the U-shaped profile is reduced.
According to an aspect the insulation part is configured to prevent the back of the u-shape of being a coldbridge between the wing portions of the first and second L- shaped profile. By a coldbridge is meant that the u-shape transfer energy from its two sides.
According to an aspect the locking device comprise a first locking part connected at the edge of the back portion of the first L-shaped profile and a second locking part connected at the edge of the back portion of the second L-shaped profile, and wherein the insulating part is positioned between the first locking part and the second locking part in a locked position of the locking device. According to an aspect the locking device is configured to connect and/or lock the edges of the back portion of the first and second L-shaped profile when the first locking part is moved from an unlocked position in a direction towards the second locking part that is parallel to a plane of the back of the u-shape and that is
perpendicular to the wing parts of the first and second L-shaped profile to the locking position of the locking device, in which the first locking part is locked to the second locking part.
According to an aspect one of the first and the second locking part is a female connection and the other of the first and the second locking part is a male connection.
According to an aspect the locking device is a snap fit lock.
According to an aspect the locking device comprise a locking pin configured to lock the first L-profile from moving in a direction parallel to the plane of the back of the u-shape relative to the insulation part and/or the second L-shaped profile in the locked position.
