Description

Hand operated pump
Technical Field
The invention relates to hand operated pumps for the fuel systems of internal combustion engines.
State of the Art
Currently, a whole range of pumps are known which are used in internal combustion engine systems.
From patent CS 22298 there is known a pump for combustibles for multi-cylinder injection internal combustion engines, specifically for vehicles.
From another patent CS 54403, there is known a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, where the pump cylinders, or steel bodies taking over for the cylindrical inserts, are embedded in a pump housing which is made of light metal.
A pressure lubrication pump is further known from patent CS 72182. This pump consists of a container and a non-screwable rear cover and in which the lubricant is extruded by a piston by rotating the non-movable control screw with a handle, where the extruding cylinder is led on the guide screw by a groove along the body of the pump itself characterised by a guide spring of the bearing sleeve, rotatably mounted in the rear cover of the pump.
And from another patent CS 82199 a pressure lubrication pump is known This pump has a single suction intake and multiple oil delivery outlets in a cylinder with rotation of the piston and piston rod fit with a radial opening and acting as an oil distributor, with the pump cylinder having radial delivery holes arranged in a helix.
From patent CS 263549 an accelerator pump carburettor slide is known which comprises a piston located within the main delivery system which is controlled by a volumetric needle located in the slide. In the cylindrical piston in the direction of its axis are provided one or more flow holes between the upper and lower surfaces of the piston.
The main disadvantage of all the above mentioned design solutions is that they have a relatively complex construction as a consequence of being made of various metal materials, the processing of which is relatively complex.
The goal of the invention is the design of a pump which is simpler in construction, while being made of a material which allows for fundamentally simpler technological processing, and with this, a significantly lower cost, while maintaining or improving functionality.
Principle of the Invention
The above-mentioned disadvantages are largely removed, and the objectives of the invention are fulfilled by a hand operated pump for the fuel systems of internal combustion engines comprising an outer casing and a piston slidably disposed in its cavity, according to the invention whose basis is that between the outer casing and the piston there is at least one locking ring, with the outer casing, the piston and the locking ring being made of the same type of plastic, where between the outer casing and the piston there is mounted at least one sealing cuff, which is fixed in the piston and which is made of fluorine silicone. The advantage of this construction is that the use of plastic for the manufacture of the main parts of the pump allows for simple and inexpensive production, while at the same time allowing for great shape variability of these main parts of the pump. It is further to advantage if there is, between the outer casing and the piston, mounted at least one sealing cuff which is fixed in the piston and which is to greatest advantage made of fluorine silicone. The advantage is once again excellent functionality, even under extreme temperature differences, and with this again being that it is an important design element, which is again made as non-metallic. The locking ring serves to precisely guide the piston in the cavity of the outer casing.
In the most advantageous design, the outer casing, the piston and the locking ring are made of polyamide.
It is to advantage that the outer casing and the piston are made of transparent plastic. The advantage is that, without the use of other complex measuring devices, the contents of the cavities of the pump can be determined.
To advantage, the piston is secured against movement by threading arranged in the cavity of the outer casing. The threading is a part of both plastic mouldings and is fully functional.
It is to further advantage that in the piston head there is mounted a bearing ring which rests on the front of the outer casing, with the bearing ring being rubber. The bearing ring is again to greatest advantage made of fluorine silicone.
In order to best identify the pump in the engine compartment, it is to advantage that the outer casing is made of plastic containing blue pigment and the piston is made of plastic containing orange pigment. The pump according to the invention enables very simple, fast, cheap and productive manufacture. Another advantage is shape variability. A great advantage is perfect functionality over a high temperature range and with this, associated shape stability. The design of the pump according to the invention overcomes to some extent the technical preconception that the use of non-metallic materials in extreme environments, for example in the Arctic regions of Russia, in which there are great temperature differences, and in which internal combustion engines are used, is not possible.
Overview of the Figures
The invention will be more closely elucidated using drawings, in which Fig. 1 is a detailed cross-sectional view of the arrangement of the individual parts of the pump; Fig. 2 shows a frontal view of the piston head; and Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 are perspective views of the overall design of the pump.
Examples of the Performance of the Invention
A hand operated pump for the fuel systems of internal combustion engines (Fig. 1 , Fig. 2, Fig. 3, Fig. 4), such as diesel engines of large trucks, comprising an outer casing 1 and within its cavity 4 is a slidably disposed piston 2.
The outer casing I is made of plastic containing blue pigment and the piston 2 is made of plastic containing orange pigment, the plastic in both cases being polyamide. Alternatively, the outer casing I and the piston 2 can be made of transparent plastic, which is also polyamide.
The piston 2 is secured against movement by threading 3 arranged in the cavity 4 of the outer casing 1
Between the outer casing 1 and the piston 2 there is a sealing cuff 5, which is fixed in the piston 2 and which is rubber and is made of fluorine silicone containing green pigment.
Between the outer casing I and the piston 2 there is further mounted a locking ring 6, which is fixed in the outer casing 1 and is made of a polyamide plastic.
In the head 7 of the piston 2 is mounted a bearing ring 8 , which rests on the front 9 of the outer casing 1, with the bearing ring 8 being rubber and made of silicone fluorine containing green pigment.
On the face 13 of the head 7 of the piston are arranged indentations 10. On the face 14 of the outer casing 1_ is arranged threading 11 the threading H being terminated by a groove 12 in which is mounted the sealing ring 15.
Behind the groove 12, on the outer casing 1 a casting 17 is mounted on which a hexagon 16 is arranged. industrial application
The pump according to the invention can be used as a pump of fuel systems of internal combustion engines, in particular diesel engines of heavy duty trucks operating in extreme climatic conditions.
