Definitions

  • Compression bras for post-operative care are provided.
  • the invention relates to a compression bra for the postoperative care of patients.
  • Compression bras are worn on the female breast after surgery to aid the healing process.
  • Different constructions have become known.
  • US 2013/0252512 A1 discloses a brassiere of the generic type with a body section which encloses the torso of a patient, with detachable shoulder straps, with inner pockets for receiving pads and with a connecting element for attaching a drainage bag.
  • the body section is made of an elastic material.
  • the invention relates to a compression bra for the postoperative care of patients, the bra comprising a body section with two shoulder straps in order to close the torso of a patient and overlap her shoulders, the body section having at least is at least partially made of an elastically stretchable textile, and wherein one or more compression zones are integrally incorporated into the elastically stretchable textile, which have an increased elasticity module compared to the surrounding tissue with regard to a deformation in the direction of extension thereof.
  • Suitable textiles include both fabrics and knits such as knitted fabrics.
  • the position and the modulus of elasticity of the compression zones integrated into the textile, i.e. not separately sewn or glued on, can be variably adjusted as part of the production process, so that specific compression patterns are realized for different surgical interventions, for example for breast-conserving surgical interventions, mastectomies, breast reconstructions, breast augmentation or breast reduction without having to accept local seams that can lead to local pressure peaks.
  • the compression zones are formed by a thread pattern that is changed compared to the surrounding regions of the body section.
  • the thread density or the knitting pattern can change.
  • the compression zones are formed in that additional elastic threads are worked seamlessly into the textile.
  • the main direction of the sewn threads preferably corresponds to the direction of extension of the respective compression zone.
  • a combination of the two measures mentioned can also be used in one embodiment of the invention.
  • the changed thread pattern and / or the seamless weaving can be realized, for example, in the circular knitting process.
  • at least one pair of compression zones is provided and runs symmetrically with respect to a vertical central axis of the brassiere.
  • at least one compression zone can extend linearly over the body section, it preferably being provided that this compression zone extends perpendicularly or obliquely to the perpendicular over the back area.
  • an X-shaped back reinforcement that is symmetrical with respect to the central axis can be arranged centrally in the back area.
  • At least one compression zone runs in a circle around a cup area.
  • the compression level can be set depending on or independent of the cup size.
  • At least one compression zone runs in the area of an armpit section.
  • the bra can also have an underbust band integrated into the textile.
  • the horizontally running underbust band encloses the body of the wearer and gives the bra a good fit.
  • the seamless production also prevents annoying seams.
  • the shoulder straps are adjustable in length and / or have two sections connected by means of a closure. This means that the length of the shoulder straps can be fine-tuned by the user to meet individual needs.
  • the fastener can be, for example, a Velcro fastener.
  • the brassiere has one or more fastening elements in the back area and / or underbust area.
  • fastening elements for example there is a fastening element in the back area for connecting a Stuttgart belt.
  • Fastening elements for connecting drainage bags can be present in the left and / or right underbust area, for example on the underbust band.
  • Suitable fastening elements include, for example, Velcro fasteners, hooks for hanging up or locking elements.
  • this can be separated and provided with a closure element such as a Velcro fastener and / or a zipper in order to make it easier to put on and take off.
  • a closure element such as a Velcro fastener and / or a zipper in order to make it easier to put on and take off.
  • pockets for holding breast prostheses can be sewn into the left and / or right cup area.
  • the brassiere is equipped with one or more integrated or exchangeable wound dressings for taking up wound secretions.
  • the wound dressings can comprise a superabsorbent, for example.
  • the textile is typically made of biocompatible materials in order not to provoke a reaction from the patient, especially in the area of the operating area.
  • the textile preferably has dirt-repellent properties, in particular with regard to medical fluids.
  • the materials can furthermore have antimicrobial properties, at least in sections, in order to avoid infection in the operating zone.
  • Figure 1 is a front view of a bra according to the invention in its closed state
  • Figure 2 is a rear view of a bra according to the invention in its closed state
  • Figure 3 an interior view of a bra according to the invention in its open state.
  • a bra according to the invention which has a main body 5 which is to be placed around the torso of a patient.
  • the torso has left and right cups 2, to which pockets 12a and 12b are sewn for receiving breast prostheses.
  • the main body 5 is separated into two parts in the middle of the front between the cups 2 in order to allow the bra to be put on and taken off more easily.
  • the two parts are connected with a separately sewn zipper 1.
  • Left and right supports 3 protrude upward from the main body 5, which are likewise divided into two parts and have a Velcro fastener with a length adaptation function. Starting from the cups 2, the front carrier parts taper upwards in an upper chest area 8.
  • a Velcro pad 11 for attaching a Stuttgart belt is attached to the rear 7 of the main body. In the area of the underbust band 4 there is a hook 13 for hanging a drainage bag.
  • the main body 5 and the straps 3 of the brassiere are essentially made of an elastically stretchable knitted fabric, into which several compression zones are integrally incorporated, which have a higher elasticity module compared to the surrounding tissue with regard to a deformation in their extension have direction.
  • the incorporation takes place seamlessly in the circular knitting process by changing the knitting pattern and, if necessary, also by feeding different types of yarn.
  • the compression zones comprise left and right armpit zones 6a and 6b linearly projecting downwards from the armpit cutout, left and right chest rings 9a and 9b surrounding the cups 2, and a back reinforcement zone 10 which extends in an X-shape over the entire back region 7.
  • the underbust band 4 is integrally worked into the knitted fabric in the same way as the compression zones 6a, 6b, 9 and 10.
  • closure and connecting elements 1, 11 and 13 as well as binding tapes at the edges can also be sewn in.
