Description
- The present invention relates to a laundry washing and drying machine comprising an water air-cooled condenser.
- Machines used for both washing and drying operations comprise a heater channel and a condenser as distinct from laundry washing machines. The fan providing the air circulation and the heater providing the heating of the air are positioned on the heater channel. The heated air reaches the laundry in the machine and dehumidifies the laundry. The air collecting the humidity on the laundry leaves the drum and reaches the condenser. By means of the cold water mist generated in the condenser the humid and hot air is cooled and dehumidified. Thus the dried air is reheated to be delivered onto the laundry. In the state of the art the condenser is used as an additional air duct in machines used both for washing and drying purposes. Therefore machines with small volumes cannot accommodate condensers with required sizes. This causes an inefficient drying process.

KR20050054701A - The aim of the present invention is the realization of a laundry washing and drying machine, the drying performance of which is improved.
- The laundry washing and drying machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a washing tub wherein the washing and drying processes are performed; an air circulation duct wherein the process air circulation, providing the realization of the drying process, is performed after the washing process; a fan that provides the circulation of the process air; a condenser which provides the dehumidification of the process air humidified while passing over the laundry, and a cooling line which provides the cooling of the condenser.
- The laundry washing and drying machine comprises a plurality of openings provided on the cooling line. By passing cold water through the openings, the condenser is enabled to be quickly cooled down.
- According to the invention, the laundry washing and drying machine comprises at least one inclined surface which provides the delivery of water through each opening at the same flow rate. By means of the inclined surfaces, a certain amount of water is delivered slowly through certain openings. Thus, by ensuring the passage of cold water through every opening at the same flow rate, a homogeneous cooling is provided.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine comprises a chamber which is formed by dividing by means of the inclined surfaces. By means of the chambers formed by means of the inclined surfaces providing the delivery of water to a certain number of openings successively, the water in the cooling line is prevented from gathering at one point.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine comprises the cooling line provided on the washing tub.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine comprises a cover positioned so as to at least partially cover the cooling line. One surface of the cover is in contact with the cooling line and the surface thereof with the condenser. The cover is cooled down by means of the cold water trickling down through the openings, thus in turn cooling down the condenser.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine comprises the cooling line provided on the cover. Thus, savings in term of space are provided and the assembly of the cooling line is facilitated.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine comprises an intake channel which provides the water intake into the cooling line.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine comprises the intake channel which contacts the cooling line with a wide angle. Thus, the water delivered to the cooling line is enabled to be homogeneously distributed.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine comprises the cooling line which is detachably mounted onto the tub or the cover. Thus, in case of malfunction, the cooling line can be easily detached and serviced.
- By means of the present invention, a laundry washing and drying machine is realized, comprising a condenser which can be quickly cooled down with water, thus increasing the drying performance.
- The laundry washing and drying machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

- The laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises a washing tub (2) wherein the laundry is placed to be washed and dried; an air circulation duct (3) wherein the process air (PA) circulation, providing the drying of the laundry, is performed in the drying process after the washing process; a fan (4) which is provided on the air circulation duct (3) and which provides the circulation of the process air (PA); at least one condenser (5) which condenses the process air (PA), and a cooling line (6) which enables the condenser (5) to be cooled down with the water taken from the outer environment. By means of the cooling line (6), the process air (PA) removed from the laundry is dehumidified. Thus, effectiveness of the drying process is improved.
- The laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises a plurality of openings (7) which are provided on the cooling line (6) and which allow the water flow. A plurality of openings (7) are provided on the cooling line (6). The cold water which is taken from the mains to be delivered to the cooling line (6) flows through the openings (7). Thus, the condenser (5) is cooled down by means of the trickling water.
- According to the invention, the laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises the cooling line (6) having at least one inclined surface (8) thereon. By means of the inclined surface (8), the water is guided to the openings (7). By means of the inclination angle of the inclined surface (8), the water passes through each opening (7) at the same flow rate. Thus, a homogeneous cooling is provided.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises the cooling line (6) having at least one chamber (9) formed by dividing by means of the inclined surfaces (8) which provide the delivery of water to a certain number of openings (7) successively depending on the position of the openings (7). The chambers (9) are formed with the inclined surfaces (8) dividing the cooling line (6). By means of the chambers (9), the water is prevented from gathering at one point.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises the cooling line (6) provided on the washing tub (2). The cooling line (6) positioned on the washing tub (2) provides the cooling of the condenser (5).
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises a cover (10) positioned so as to at least partially cover the cooling line (6) and such that one surface thereof is located on the cooling line (6) and the surface is in contact with the condenser (5). One surface of the cover (10) is in contact with the cooling line (6) and the surface thereof with the condenser (5). Thus, the cold water flowing through the openings (7) on the cooling line (6) trickles down from over the cover (10). Thus, the cover (10) is cooled down. The condenser (5) which is in contact with the cold cover (10) is also cooled down.
- The laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises the cover (10) produced from a material with high thermal conductivity. By means of high thermal conductivity, the cover (10) quickly cools down, thus cooling down the condenser (5). Thereby, the drying performance is increased.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises the cooling line (6) provided on the cover (10). The cooling line (6) can be provided on the cover (10). Thus, the placement of the cooling line (6) is facilitated.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises an intake channel (11) which provides the water intake into the cooling line (6). By means of the intake channel (11), the cold water is taken into the cooling line (6). Since the inclined surfaces (8) start at the intake channel (11), the intake channel (11) can be divided into a plurality of compartments.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises the intake channel (11) which contacts the cooling line (6) with a wide angle. The intake channel (11) contacts the cooling line (6) so as to form an approximately 120 degree-angle with the cooling line (6). Thus, the water is homogeneously distributed into the cooling line (6) and the water is enabled to pass through each opening (7) at the same flow rate.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprises the cooling line (6) which is detachably mounted. By means of the cooling line (6) which is detachably mounted onto the tub (2) or the cover (10), the maintenance process is facilitated in case of malfunction.
- By means of the present invention, a laundry washing and drying machine (1) with improved drying performance is realized. By means of the cold water trickling down through the openings (7) on the cooling line (6), the condenser (5) is cooled down. The cooled down condenser (5) dehumidifies the process air (PA) thus cooling the air (PA). Thereby, the drying performance is increased.
Claims (8)
- A laundry washing and drying machine (1) comprising a drum (2) wherein the laundry is placed to be washed and dried; an air circulation duct (3) wherein the process air (PA) circulation, providing the drying of the laundry, is performed in the drying process after the washing process; a fan (4) which is provided on the air circulation duct (3) and which provides the circulation of the process air (PA); at least one condenser (5) which condenses the process air (PA), and a cooling line (6) which enables the condenser (5) to be cooled down with the water taken from the outer environment, a plurality of openings (7) which are provided on the cooling line (6) and which allow the water flow characterized by the cooling line (6) comprising at least one inclined surface (8) thereon which provides the water to be guided to the openings (7).
- A laundry washing and drying machine (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the cooling line (6) comprising at least one chamber (9) formed by dividing by means of the inclined surfaces (8) which provide the delivery of water to a certain number of openings (7) successively depending on the position of the openings (7).
- A laundry washing and drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the cooling line (6) provided on the washing tub (2).
- A laundry washing and drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by a cover (10) positioned so as to at least partially cover the cooling line (6) and such that one surface thereof is located on the cooling line (6) and the surface is in contact with the condenser (5).
- A laundry washing and drying machine (1) as in Claim 4, characterized by the cooling line (6) provided on the cover (10).
- A laundry washing and drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by an intake channel (11) providing the water intake into the cooling line (6).
- A laundry washing and drying machine (1) as in Claim 6, characterized by the intake channel (11) which contacts the cooling line (6) with a wide angle.
- A laundry washing and drying machine (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the cooling line (6) which is detachably mounted.
