Description

    COOKER APPLIANCE COMPRISING BAKING STONE
  • The present invention relates to a cooker appliance comprising baking stone.
  • In ovens, the cooking process is realized by dissipating the heat generated by a heater into the cooker by means of a fan. The cooking process is realized by dissipating hot air inside the cooker. Therefore, food products are cooked by means of air without directly contacting a hot surface. This poses challenges in cooking pastry products such as pizzas and the cooking process then takes a longer time. This causes the dough to not be cooked as desired or to become hardened. In the prior art baking stones are used in the cooking process for pastry products. The baking stones known in the art are generally made of refractory materials such as ceramic or stone materials which have high heat storage capacity and which slowly release heat in time, thereby enabling directly heating the bottom of the pastry product which is in direct contact with a tray. However, entrapment of heat by baking stones adversely affects energy efficiency during cooking food products other than pastries. When cooking food products other than pastries, a user has to remove the baking stone from the cooker and place the grates therein. This creates a challenge of use, making it necessary to store both the baking stone and the grates in kitchen environment.
  • State of the art United States patent application no. US20140238250 discloses a baking stone which can be heated in microwave ovens.
  • The aim of the present invention is to realize a cooker appliance providing ease of use.
  • The cooker appliance realized to achieve the aim of the present invention and disclosed in the first claim and the dependent claims, comprises a body, a cooking chamber in which food products are cooked, a chassis surrounding the cooking chamber, a heater provided in the cooking chamber, enabling heating food products, and a baking stone made of refractory material, on which food products are cooked.
  • The cooker appliance of the invention comprises a baking stone having a first surface, a second surface, and a plate interposed between the fist surface and the second surface. When the plate is removed from in between the first surface and the second surface, the baking stone can be used as a grate.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the cooker appliance comprises a baking stone having a closed position in which the first surface and the second surface are parallel to each other and an open position in which the first surface and the second surface move away from each other. When the baking stone is in closed position, it is used for cooking pastry products. When the baking stone is brought to open position, the plate can be removed from in between the first surface and the second surface, thereby enabling the baking stone to be used as a grate.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, a plurality of channels are provided on the first surface and the second surface. The channels are arranged in determined distances. A plurality of ribs are arranged on the plate in determined distances. When the baking stone is in closed position, the ribs on the plate fit onto the channels. A gap-free, integral baking stone is thus obtained.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the cooker appliance comprises a first movement member on the first surface, and a second movement member on the second surface. The first movement member is semi-circular. The second member comprises a quadrantal cut-out Thus, the second movement member fits on the first movement member and can move rotationally by sliding thereon. Teeth provided on the first movement member settle in a slot provided on the second movement member, enabling the first surface and the second surface to be coupled to each other.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the cooker appliance comprises a baking stone shifting between open position and closed position by the teeth moving within the slot. When the teeth move within the slot, the front edges move away from each other while the rear edges approach each other.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the baking stone comprises at least one trigger provided on the second surface. The trigger extends from the rear edge towards the first surface. When the baking stone is shifting from closed position to open position, the plate at least partially departs from in between the first surface and the second surface by means of the trigger. This facilitates removal of the plate from in between the first surface and the second surface.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the baking stone comprises a first inclined portion provided on the first surface and a second inclined portion provided on the plate. When the baking stone is in closed position, the first inclined portion and the second inclined portion are arranged parallel to each other. The first inclined portion and the second inclined portion enable the plate to slide and easily depart from in between the first surface and the second surface when the baking stone is shifting from the closed position to open position.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the cooker appliance comprises a handle enabling the baking stone to shift between open position and closed position and the plate to be removed from in between the first surface and the second surface. A gap is provided on the handle, enabling the user to easily grip the handle. At least one extension provided on the handle engages the first surface or the second surface, enabling the baking stone to shift between open position and closed position. The plate is enabled to be removed from in between the first surface and the second surface by means of at least one hook provided on the handle.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the baking stone comprises at least one opening provided on the first surface or the second surface, enabling the extension to engage, and at least one hole provided on the plate, enabling the hooks to engage.
