Definitions
- the present invention relates to the general field of devices for smoking a smokable material.
- Such devices are for example known as the water pipe or shisha.
- a device for smoking a smokable material comprises an upper bowl having a recess for positioning smokable material and a chimney open towards the interior of this upper bowl for collecting smoke generated by combustion of said smokable material.
- the amount of smokable material may vary depending on the taste of the user and the number of users desiring to smoke with the device.
- the smokable material is molasses, i.e. a mixture of tobacco and syrup, about 20 grams per user is required.
- Adjusting the right amount of molasses is not easy because this molasses is sticky.
- the smokable material is generally packaged in the form of a package containing a volume of smokable material corresponding to several individual doses. As soon as this package is started, it is necessary to quickly use the entire smokable material of the package on pain of seeing it dry and lose its fragrance.
- the patent document WO2015097424A1 proposes to condition the smokable material in a prefabricated capsule intended to be placed in a chamber receiving the capsule, this chamber being under an incandescent fire.
- This prefabricated capsule has an upper flat wall and a lower flat wall, these flat walls being perforated to allow the passage of air and smoke through the capsule while avoiding contact between the incandescent material of the fireplace and the material to smoking. Lids are glued on the capsule to hide these perforations and thus ensure preservation of the smokable product.
- a disadvantage of this device of the prior art is that during its handling and use, smokable material can pass through the perforations of the capsule at the risk of causing contamination and clogging.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a device for smoking a smokable material to solve all or part of the aforementioned problems of the prior art.
- a device for smoking a smokable material comprising an upper bowl having a recess for positioning smokable material and a chimney open to the inside of the upper bowl for collecting smoke generated by combustion of said smokable material, said upper bowl having, inside the recess, positioning surfaces arranged to be able to position a capsule inside the recess of said upper bowl, this capsule containing said smokable material.
- the device according to the invention is essentially characterized in that the device for smoking comprises a perforator adapted to produce at least a first opening of hot air circulation through a wall of the capsule while the capsule is positioned in the recess of the upper bowl and bears against said positioning surfaces.
- This first hot air circulation opening is preferably connected to the chimney by a tubular portion extending from the wall of the capsule and to the chimney where this tube is preferably connected to sealing.
- the device according to the invention facilitates the introduction of the smokable material.
- the user can remove the capsule with the smoked material it contains which facilitates the cleaning of the device.
- Another advantage of the device according to the invention is that the perforations made through the capsule remain homogeneous from one capsule to another.
- the need for training the user is reduced because he no longer needs to learn to measure, ventilate the smokable material and no longer need to learn to distribute the perforations in the wall of the capsule.
- the combustion characteristics are thus homogenized.
- the invention relates to an assembly comprising:
- a capsule having a wall delimiting a space inside the capsule containing a volume of smokable material, this capsule being placed inside the recess of said upper bowl and bearing against said positioning surfaces, the perforator passing through of this wall of the capsule and defining at least a first opening for hot air circulation through the wall of the capsule.
- the perforator passes through the wall of the capsule and makes therein, in addition to said at least one first hot air circulation opening, at least one second opening. hot air circulation, said at least one first hot air circulation opening and said at least one second hot air circulation opening being separate from each other and being away from one another. other so as to form a baffle inside the capsule.
- the baffle inside the capsule promotes a homogeneous mixture between the fumes generated by the combustion of the smoking material and the hot air admitted into the capsule.
- the capsule wall comprises: - A bowl having a bottom and an annular peripheral wall of the bowl, said annular peripheral bowl wall defining an upper opening of the bowl;
- the volume of smokable material being placed in the bowl against the bottom of the bowl by defining a high level of smokable material in the capsule, the high level being at a distance from said lid;
- said first hot air circulation opening being a smoke outlet opening formed through the wall of the capsule, above said high level of smokable material in the capsule;
- said second hot air circulation opening being an air inlet opening in the capsule formed through the wall of the capsule, above the high level of smokable material in the capsule.
- the cover that extends through the upper opening to close it is a preferred area of perforation.
- the lid is preferably made of a material that is less resistant to perforation / punching than is the material constituting the bowl.
- the operculum is preferably formed of a material whose thickness is less than the thickness of the constituent material of the bowl.
- the lid and the bowl are essentially made of aluminum.
- the lid may be an aluminum foil less than 0.2 mm thick while the aluminum bowl is thicker than 0.3 mm.
- the periphery of the cap is sealingly attached along a peripheral edge of the upper opening of the bowl, for example via crimping, gluing, soldering or brazing or other sealing means.
- the constituent material of the capsule is preferably food grade.
- the invention relates to a capsule having a wall delimiting a space inside the capsule containing a volume of smokable material, the wall of the capsule comprising:
- a bowl having a bottom and an annular peripheral wall of the bowl, said annular peripheral wall defining an upper opening of the bowl;
- This capsule is characterized in that the bottom of the bowl has a central zone rising above the volume of smokable material and above said high level of smokable material.
- the first opening can thus be formed through this central zone of the bottom of the bowl while being above the high level of the volume of smokable material contained in the capsule.
- the smokable material can be combusted to generate smoke evacuating via this first circulation opening, this smokable material remaining in the capsule, at a distance from this first opening.
- this central zone which makes it possible to locate a first opening for the circulation of hot air in a central zone of the capsule, the air can pass in the capsule, radially, towards this first central opening.
- This air moves along and above the high level of the volume of smokable material from the periphery of the capsule to the central area of the bottom where is the first opening.
- the invention relates to a method of using a device for smoking a smokable material according to any of the embodiments of the device of the invention described in the present description.
- This method of use comprises:
- this capsule having a wall delimiting a space internal to the capsule, this internal space containing a volume of smokable material, this wall of the capsule being in abutment against said positioning surfaces, the wall of the capsule comprising a bowl and a lid closing an upper opening of the bowl, the volume of smokable material being placed in this bowl, against the bottom of the bowl by defining a high level of a smokable material in the capsule, this high level being at a distance from said operculum; then
- a flow of hot air is generated inside the capsule, a second hot air circulation opening to a first hot air circulation opening, these first and second hot air circulation openings; being made through the wall of the capsule above the high level of smokable material and being distant from each other.
- This method has the advantage of the aforementioned assembly because it limits the risk of output of smokable material out of the capsule via said openings through the capsule wall.
- the method comprises the production of said first and second hot air circulation openings, these first and second second openings being made using a perforator forming a perforation cover, said perforation cover at least partially sealing a capsule insertion passage in said recess of the upper bowl, said passage being formed between an area external to said upper bowl and said recess of the upper bowl.
- the capsule remains sealed until the introduction of the perforation cover which closes the passage to the recess of the upper bowl where the capsule is.
- the flavors of the smokable material are thus preserved until the moment of consumption by the user.
- the perforation lid comprises at least one tube provided with a cutting edge formed at a first end end of this tube and adapted to perforate the capsule wall, said first opening of circulation hot air being created by depressing the tube through the wall of the capsule.
- This tube opens out of the capsule and perforated vis-à-vis the chimney to allow the circulation of a hot air flow between the tube and the chimney, a lateral perforation of this tube being then located inside. of the capsule, above said high level of smokable material and each at least a second opening being formed through the cap of the capsule, by a cutting shape carried by the same perforation cover.
- This tube is thus shaped to allow a circulation of hot air inside the tube, between said lateral perforation which is in the capsule (positioned in the recess of the upper bowl and in abutment with said positioning surfaces) and said first terminal end of the tube which is out of the capsule, opposite the smoke.

- a suction tube extends outside the vase, between a suction nozzle intended to be placed in the mouth by the user and a connection connecting the suction tube to the vase.
- This suction tube allows the user to suck air / smoke present in the vase, above the volume of liquid. By performing this aspiration, the user generates a vacuum in the vessel which forces a flow of air through the chimney 12 by going from the internal recess to the upper bowl 10 towards the interior of the vessel.
- the fumes inhaled by the user thus have improved taste characteristics.
- the upper bowl 10 comprises, inside the recess 11, positioning surfaces 110 arranged to be able to position / wedge, a capsule 3 inside the recess 11 of said upper bowl to prevent it from s 'moves there.
- These positioning surfaces 110 are arranged to prohibit translations of the capsule in a plane perpendicular to a direction of insertion of the capsule into the 'obvious', and to form an axial stop of the capsule in this direction of insertion.
- the support of the capsule 3 against said positioning surfaces 110 is here realized at the lower outer face of the capsule wall which is of complementary shape to the positioning surfaces 110.
- the lower outer face of the capsule has a shape of revolution which when viewed in cross section in a plane containing the axis of revolution has a shape of W.
- the three vertices of this W-shaped are rounded, that is to say without sharp angles.
- the recess 110 formed inside the upper bowl 10 is also a form of revolution complementary to the shape of the lower outer face of the capsule, only the central portion of this form of revolution of the recess has a passage into which the chimney 112 opens.

- this tube 41 opens out towards the chimney 12 to allow the circulation of a hot air flow F between the tube 41 and the chimney 12.
- This tube 41 also comprises a lateral perforation 411 of the tube which opens inside said recess 11 shaped to receive said capsule 3, this tube being shaped to allow a circulation of hot air inside the tube, between said lateral perforation
- this lateral perforation 411 is shaped to open into the capsule 3 when it is positioned / wedged in the recess 11 of the upper bowl 10.
- the recess 11 of the upper bowl 10 extends between a low limit Lb and a high limit Lh being above said low limit.
- the upper limit Lh of the recess is placed above the low limit Lb of the recess.
- the lateral perforation 411 of the tube is closer to the upper limit Lh of the recess than it is to the lower limit Lb of the recess.
- the perforator 4 comprises a perforation cover 43 having a first perforation portion 431 (see detail in Figure 7).
- This perforation cover 43 is arranged to at least partially seal a capsule insertion passage in said recess 11 of the upper bowl.
- This passage is formed between an outer zone to said upper bowl 10 and said recess of the upper bowl to allow insertion of the capsule.
- the lid 43 may be removably assembled to the upper bowl 10 to selectively disengage the capsule insertion passage.
- the capsule is releasably positioned in the recess to be retrievable from this recess once the puncture cover is removed and the passage released.
- This cover 43 is arranged so that when it is positioned to at least partially close the capsule insertion passage, then its first perforation portion 431 is oriented to be able to extend into the recess in order to be able to pass through the wall of the capsule 3 placed in the recess.
- This first perforation portion is thus arranged to define said at least one first hot air circulation opening 31 through the capsule wall.
- the first perforation portion 431 is here formed by said tube 41, this tube has a closed second end end which is connected to the perforation cover 43.
- the first end end which carries the cutting edge 410 opens into the chimney 12 to form a tight connection between the stack 12 and the periphery of the first end of the tube 41.
- This tight connection can be achieved by means of a choice of material of the chimney 12 and the tube 41 allowing a sealing by tube / chimney interlocking or by means of at least one joint extending between the chimney and the tube.
- the tube 41 may be rigid while the chimney material may be flexible, such as heat-resistant silicone.
- This perforation cover 43 is preferably made of a material having:
- the lid 43 can thus withstand the heat caused during the combustion of the smoking material while allowing, where appropriate to transfer heat to the smoking material in the capsule to activate its combustion.
- the cover material may be selected from aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, titanium, copper, brass, bronze and their alloys.
- the lid may have complementary shapes of the upper outer face of the capsule to bear against this upper face when the capsule is in the recess 11 and the lid closes the capsule insertion passage.
- the device also comprises a heating chamber 5, this heating chamber is separated from said recess 11 formed in the upper bowl 10 by said perforation lid 43.
- the heating chamber 5 is a volume defined by an outer peripheral wall. A first end of this chamber 5 is open towards the perforation cover 43.
- a second end of this heating chamber is partially closed by a cover having adjustable section vents by moving a shutter of the cover (here the shutter is pivotally mounted and is moved by means of a gripping rod)
- fixing screws here three fixing screws, are used to assemble the cover 43 against the edge of the outer peripheral wall delimiting the heating chamber 5.
- the capsule 3 has a wall delimiting an internal space 33 to the capsule, this internal space containing a volume of smokable material 2.
- This wall of the capsule is made up of:
- the volume of smokable material 2 is placed in the bowl, against the bottom of the bowl and defining a high level NH, substantially plane, of smokable material in the capsule.
- This high level NH is at a distance from the cap 35.
- the bottom of the bowl 34 has a central zone Zc which rises above the volume of smokable material 2 and above said high level NH of smokable material (this high level NH here takes the form of a flat disk).
- the recess 11, the capsule 3 and the perforator 4 which here have the shape of a perforation cover 43 are shaped so that when the capsule is in the recess 11 and the perforator 4 at least partially closes the passage of the capsule towards the recess, then a first portion 41 of the perforator (here a tube 41) passes through the wall of the capsule in said central zone of the bottom of the bowl 34 to form said at least a first air circulation opening hot 31.
- the perforator passes through the entire capsule by first perforating the lid 35 and then the central zone of the bottom of the bowl to have a first circulation opening 31 facing the stack 12.
- the perforator 4 also passes through the wall of the capsule 3 to make there, at a distance from the first hot air circulation opening 31, at least a second hot air circulation opening 32 so as to form a baffle hot air circulation inside the capsule 3. For this purpose, as illustrated in FIGS.
- the perforation cover 4 comprises a second perforator portion 42 arranged to produce the said at least one second hot air circulation opening 32 when this capsule is positioned in the recess
- each second part of the perforator 42 arranged to make a second hot air circulation opening 32 has a face oriented towards the capsule which is a portion of a frustoconical surface.
- each second part of the perforator 42 carries several of these pads.
- each of said at least one second hot air circulation opening 32 is an air inlet opening in the capsule and is formed through the lid 35 of the capsule 3, above the high level NH of the volume of smokable material in the capsule and at the periphery of this lid.
- each at least one second hot air circulation opening 32 is formed in part. This creates an airflow baffle in the capsule which is exclusively placed above the high level NH of the volume of smokable material. More precisely, as illustrated in FIG. 10, after perforation of the cover 35 by the perforator 4, it can be seen that there are three second openings 32 that are distinct from each other and are distributed at 120 °.
- Each of these openings 32 is made by cutting the lid along a cut line composed of a circular line extending at a fixed distance from a central point of the capsule and two rectilinear lines delimiting on both sides the circular line.
- the cutting line is open so that the cut-off portion (s) 35 (s) remain (are) attached (s) to the remainder of the seal at a connecting portion. formed between the circular line LC and the central point Pt of the capsule.
- Each portion of operculum thus cut forms a flap dipping into the capsule from the center to the periphery of the capsule.
- Each flap thus formed by the creation of one of the second openings 32 makes it possible to form a baffle in the capsule 3.
- Each baffle limits the outlet of the smokable material out of the capsule via an opening 32 while participating in a good distribution of the hot air in the capsule.
- the operculum portion thus cut and forming a flap remains attached to the rest of the capsule and forms a protective shield of the perforator 4 preventing contact between the smokable material and the perforator 4.
- the shape of the perforator is adapted to perform a cutout of the lid such that each portion of the lid thus cut forms a flap dipping into the capsule, each flap thus formed remaining attached to the rest of the capsule by a connecting part between this flap and the rest of the lid so as to prohibit contact between the fumable material and the portion or portions of the perforator 4 which are inside the capsule.
- the perforation cover is assembled on the upper bowl via an assembly allowing a relative pivoting of the lid against the upper bowl, between a first pivoting position where the lid perforates the capsule wall 35 and a second pivoting position where these perforations are enlarged to form said first and second hot air openings.
- this assembly is a bayonet assembly.
- the cover 4 has three peripheral bayonets spaced apart at 120 °, and the upper bowl has three grooves equally spaced apart at 120 °.
- Each bayonet penetrates into one of the grooves that corresponds to it and can slide there during the passage of the cover between its first and second pivoting positions.
- the lid could be assembled on the upper bowl via threads
- the tube 41 which is provided with the cutting edge 410 has a straight cylinder outer shape centered on the lid and extending along an axis of revolution of the lid. During its passage between its first and second pivoting positions, the lid pivots with respect to the upper bowl along this axis of revolution.
- Three cutting shapes 36 each having a circular cutting edge are formed under the perforation cover 43. Each of these shapes 36 is used to make one of the second openings 32 which corresponds to it when the lid is pivoted.
- the combustion limit surface is the surface that delimits a volume of smokable material already burnt vis-à-vis a volume of smokable material remaining burned. This combustion limit surface progresses inside the capsule from a high NH level towards the bottom of the bowl. As the smokable material is arranged in a ring around the central zone Zc, the combustion limit forms a homogeneous hollow disk around the central zone.
- the invention is not limited to what has just been described above and it can combine some of the embodiments of the device, the assembly and the capsule presented above.
- the heating chamber 35 described above is formed above the recess 11 and is separated from this recess 11 by the perforation cover.
- the heating chamber is formed on the sides or below the recess 11.
- the heating can be performed using a heating device, such as a heating resistor does not necessarily require a heating chamber.
- the heating resistor is simply placed in the heating chamber made according to any one of the heating chamber embodiments presented above.
