Abstract

The cooling device (1 ) of the invention is adapted to the use of an independent module (6), and comprises a body, a door (2) mounted on the body and enabling access into the body, having an inner surface (4) and an outer surface (5), a glass panel (3) mounted on the door (2), and at least one magnet (8) fastened on the inner surface (4) of the glass panel (3), bearing a module (6) attached on the outer surface (5) of the glass panel (3) and enabling wireless energy and data transfer.

Description

    A COOLING DEVICE COMPRISING A GLASS PANEL MOUNTED ON A DOOR
  • The present invention relates to a household appliance comprising a door on which a decorative glass panel is mounted.
  • Nowadays, household appliances, particularly refrigerator doors are coated with decorative panels such as glass, mirror and the like, for giving them an aesthetic appearance. However, particularly in mounting control panels on glass panels, various limitations are experienced which make labor more challenging and increase the costs such as the requirement to perform mechanical operations delicately on a material like glass. The application of glass panel on door allows a refrigerator to be used modularly.
  • The additional equipment on state-of-the-art refrigerators are placed on a refrigerator during assembly and cannot be detached and re-attached back later on. However, due to increasing changes and advances in technology, nowadays there is a demand for a structure enabling miscellaneous elements with various configurations to be attached on and detached from household appliances, and specifically refrigerators. Thus, a user can own a refrigerator that can be changed, modified and supported by latest technology throughout its useful lifetime.
  • State of the art international patent application no. WO2007011178 discloses mounting a display unit on a door comprising a decorative panel. In this application, the display unit is temporarily fastened behind the glass panel by means of an adhesive, then the glass panel is mounted on the door together with the display unit. The display unit fits into a slot provided on the door.
  • State of the art Chinese patent application no. CN106839579 discloses a modular and smart refrigerator into whose body can be mounted various elements such as a camera, radio, sensor, and a UV lamp.
  • Another state of the art embodiment is the Chinese patent application no. CN202066269. In this document, ice containers are driven simultaneously by means of gears provided on an actuator.
  • Another state of the art document, the Chinese patent application no. CN106091550 discloses a refrigerator having a door coated with glass panel. In this document, an IOT (internet of things) module is mounted on a glass panel and an internet-based refrigerator is obtained. The interior and the exterior of the refrigerator is monitored by cameras, and the refrigerator can be remotely controlled according to video contents.
  • Another state of the art embodiment is the Chinese patent application no. CN106885433. This document also discloses a refrigerator having a door with glass panel, and said glass panel is transformed into a touch-screen display with wireless connection, on which video can be displayed.
  • Another state of the art embodiment is the Chinese patent application no. CN105937828. This document discloses a smart refrigerator having a door with glass panel, and said glass panel comprises a smart control module enabling viewing the interior of the refrigerator.
  • Yet another state of the art document, the Korean patent application no. KR20080076065 discloses a refrigerator in which the condition of the refrigerator's capacity and the loaded items can be determined wirelessly.
  • A further state of the art document, the international patent application no. WO2016131609 discloses a refrigerator in which all sensors are capable of wireless communication with each other.
  • The aim of the present invention is to realize a cooling device enabling a chosen module to be easily attached on and detached from a door.
  • The cooling device realized to achieve the aim of the present invention and disclosed in the first claim and the dependent claims, comprises a door with a glass panel adapted to the use of cameras, sensors, radio, speakers and similar modules mounted on the front surface of the glass panel, and at least one magnet fastened on the rear surface of the glass panel, enabling bearing the modules on the glass panel and providing wireless energy and data transfer.
  • In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the door of the cooling device, coated with the glass panel, is segmented into various sections and magnets are fastened behind the glass panel at the regions where the sections are arranged. On the cooling device, a user can attach modules provided independently of the cooling device and mountable on the front surface of the glass panel, such as camera, sensor, radio, speaker and the like by means of the magnet and can use the modules provided with wireless energy and data transfer on the cooling device.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the cooling device comprises a slot provided on the rear surface of the glass panel, in which a magnet is mounted.
  • In another embodiment of the invention, the cooling device comprises at least one lamp provided on the rear surface of the glass panel, positioned around the slot in which a magnet is mounted. In this embodiment of the invention, the lamp is LED, and when a module is mounted to a slot, the lamp of that slot activates and illuminates, displaying the user that the slot is being used. The lamp is not illuminated when a module is not used on the slot.
  • The magnets fastened on the modules and the rear surface of the glass panel enable a module to be mounted on the cooling device door and provide wireless energy and data transfer, enabling achieving a modular cooling device with a variable interface.
  • A user can make visual and functional modifications by placing various modules on the door. A user can make these modifications without using any fasteners, only by mounting a module on the portion of the door where a magnet is disposed.
  • After buying the cooling device, a user can easily and quickly mount any module suiting his/her needs sold separately, by means of the magnets enabling wireless energy and data transfer on a cooling device door.
  • The cooling device realized to achieve the aims of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

  • Figure 2 is a side sectional view of the glass panel, magnet and the seat.

  • A cooling device (1) is adapted to the use of an independent module (6), and comprises a body, a door (2) mounted on the body and enabling access into the body, having an inner surface (4) and an outer surface (5), a glass panel (3) mounted on the door (2), and a magnet (8):
    • fastened on the inner surface (4) of the glass panel (3),
    • bearing a module (6) attached on the outer surface (5) of the glass panel (3) and
    • enabling data transfer via wireless energy transmission (Figure 1).
  • Magnets (8) preferably of the number of modules (6) attached on the cooling device (1) door (2) are fastened on the inner surface (4) of the glass panel (3) provided on the door (2) of the cooling device (1). On the cooling device (1), a user can attach modules (6) provided independently of the cooling device (1) and mountable on the outer surface (5) of the glass panel (3), such as camera, sensor, radio, speaker and the like by means of the magnets (8), and can use the modules (6) provided with wireless energy and data transfer on the cooling device (1).
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the cooling device (1) comprises a slot (7) provided on the inner surface (4) of the glass panel (3), in which a magnet (8) is mounted (Figure 2).
  • In another embodiment of the invention, the cooling device (1) comprises at least one lamp provided on the inner surface (4) of the glass panel (3), positioned around the slot (7) in which a magnet is mounted. In this embodiment of the invention, the lamp is LED, and when a module (6) is mounted to a slot (7), the lamp of that slot (7) activates and illuminates, displaying the user that the slot (7) is being used. The lamp is not illuminated when a module (6) is not used on the slot (7).
  • A module (6) supplied independent of the cooling device (1) and attached on the outer surface (5) of the glass panel (3), may be a camera, sensor, radio, speaker, digital picture frame, screen and the like.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the module (6) being independent of the cooling device (1), is attached on the outer surface (5) of the glass panel (3), and comprises at least one auxiliary magnet on the surface contacting the outer surface (5) of the glass panel (3). The auxiliary magnet and the magnet fastened on the module (6) and the inner surface (4) of the glass panel (3), respectively, enable the module (6) to be mounted on the door (2) and provide wireless energy and data transfer, enabling achieving a modular cooling device (1) with a variable interface.
  • After buying the cooling device (1), a user can easily and quickly mount any module (6) suiting his/her desires and sold separately, by means of the magnets (8) enabling wireless energy and data transfer on the cooling device (1) door (2).

Claims (6)

  1. A cooling device (1) adapted to the use of an independent module (6), comprising a body, a door (2) mounted on the body and enabling access into the body, having an inner surface (4) and an outer surface (5), a glass panel (3) mounted on the door (2), characterized by at least one magnet (8)
    - fastened on the inner surface (4) of the glass panel (3),
    - bearing a module (6) attached on the outer surface (5) of the glass panel (3) and
    - enabling data transfer via wireless energy transmission.
  2. A cooling device (1) according to claim 1, characterized by the magnets (8) fastened in a number of modules (6) to be attached on the inner surface (4).
  3. A cooling device (1) according to claim 1, characterized by a slot (7) provided on the inner surface (4) of the glass panel (3), in which a magnet (8) is mounted.
  4. A cooling device (1) according to claim 3, characterized by at least one lamp provided on the inner surface (4) of the glass panel (3), positioned around the slot (7) in which a magnet (8) is mounted.
  5. A cooling device (1) according to claim 4, characterized by the LED lamp.
  6. A cooling device (1) according to claim 4 and 5, characterized by the lamp activating and illuminating upon a module (6) being attached to the slot (7).
