Description
- The present invention relates to an adapter device for adapting a civil electrical plug to an industrial socket.
- In industrial environments, such as, for example, construction sites, industrial plants, etc., electrical sockets are normally industrial sockets, for example, compliant with the European standard IEC 309.
- Portable electrical appliances, on the other hand, are usually equipped with civil electrical plugs, configured for being plugged into civil electrical sockets installed in domestic environments. For example, portable electrical appliances are often equipped with civil electrical plugs of the type called "schuko", conforming to the European standard CEE 7/7.
- When it is necessary to use electrical appliances equipped with civil plugs in environments equipped with industrial sockets, it is necessary to use special adapters.
- In the state-of-the-art, various solutions of adapters for connecting civil electrical plugs to industrial sockets are known and widely used. Examples of these adapters are described in documents
US 6 454 576 ,US 6 234 823 ,DE102004033636 andMI2013U000315 - The document
MI2013U000315 - In this known solution, in order to connect a domestic plug to the adapter, it is necessary to remove the screws that fasten together the half-shells forming the protective casing, and tighten the fastening screws again after connecting the civil plug to the connector body of the adapter device. The fastening screws between the two half-shells must also be removed to remove the civil plug from the adapter device. A drawback of this solution is that the use of a tool (a screwdriver) is necessary for the assembly and disassembly of a plug. Another drawback is the risk of losing the fastening screws of the half-shells, which would render the adapter device unusable.
- The present invention aims to provide an improved adapter device that overcomes the problems of the prior art. Another object of the present invention is to provide an adapter device that allows the engagement and disengagement of a civil plug to be carried out more easily and quickly than the known adapter devices.
- According to the present invention, these objects are achieved by an adapter device having the characteristics forming the subject of claim 1.
- The claims form an integral part of the disclosure provided here in relation to the invention.
- The present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings, given purely by way of non-limiting example, wherein:
