Les appareils électriques, comme par exemple les interrupteurs, disjoncteurs, et similaires, comportent des plages de raccordement externes, qui sont couplées à des contacts électriques internes. Les plages de raccordement sortent du boîtier desdits appareils par des faces, pour permettre d’y raccorder des conducteurs assurant une arrivée et un départ de courant. D’une manière standard, les plages de raccordement sont plates et traversées par un trou de fixation. Elles sont complétées par des accessoires, ou kits de raccordement, dans lesquels est fixée l’extrémité dénudée desdits conducteurs. Ces accessoires sont superposés auxdites plages de raccordement pour y être fixés via le trou traversant. En fonction de la puissance des appareils électriques, une plage de raccordement peut recevoir un nombre de conducteurs supérieur à un et par exemple de deux, quatre, ou six, qui peuvent se présenter sous la forme de câbles à un ou plusieurs brins, de diamètres identiques ou différents, ou encore de barres conductrices plates. Pour répondre à ces différentes configurations de raccordement, l’opérateur doit assembler différents accessoires adaptés chacun au conducteur qu’il reçoit, ces différents accessoires étant superposés en escalier pour être fixé sur ladite plage de raccordement. Cette solution nécessite de disposer d’un encombrement suffisant dans les armoires électrique, de part et d’autre de l’appareil électrique pour pouvoir accueillir les plages de raccordement rallongées par lesdits accessoires superposés en escalier. A titre d’exemple, il faut prévoir au moins lOOmm de chaque côté, soit un total d’au moins 200mm par appareil électrique. De plus, cette solution présente de nombreux inconvénients. Le raccordement de chaque conducteur dans ces accessoires et le montage des accessoires sur chaque plage de raccordement est fastidieux et prend du temps compte tenu du nombre de vis de fixation à serrer. Il pose des problèmes d’ergonomie pour accéder aux vis de serrage. La force de serrage n’est pas la même en fonction du type de conducteur considéré (câble à simple brin, câble à multibrins, barre). Le serrage nécessite d’être contrôlé périodiquement pour compenser le déréglage accidentel dû à la fatigue des organes de fixation, et aux vibrations engendrées par exemple en cas de court-circuit.
