Claims (8)

  1. Procédé de préparation de billes contenant du fer et du chrome comprenant les étapes :
    a) de production de billes de minerai comprenant le mélange d'un matériau de minerai de chrome, d'un résidu de traitement de minerai de chrome (COPR),
    b) éventuellement de séchage des billes de minerai obtenues après l'étape a), et
    c) de calcination des billes de minerai,
    en ce que moins de 3 % en poids de composants réducteurs carbonés choisis parmi l'anthracite, le charbon, le coke et le charbon bitumeux sont présents à l'étape a),
    en ce que le COPR contient
    • de l'oxyde de chrome(III) : 7 à 13 % en poids, de préférence 7,5 à 12,5 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde d'aluminium : 10 à 30 % en poids, de préférence 18 à 24 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de fer (II) : 36 à 44 % en poids, de préférence 37 à 42 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de fer (III) : >0,5 % en poids, de préférence >2 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de magnésium : 9 à 18 % en poids, de préférence 10 à 17 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de calcium : < 10 % en poids, de préférence < 5 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de silicium: 0 à 3 % en poids, de préférence 1 à 3 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de vanadium : < 1 % en poids, de préférence < 0,5 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de sodium : 0 à 5 % en poids, de préférence 2 à 5 % en poids, et
    • du chromate de sodium : 0 à 4,7 % en poids, de préférence <0,0003 % en poids,
    tandis que les % en poids se réfèrent au poids du COPR.
  2. Procédé selon la revendication 1, en ce que moins de 3 % en poids des composants réducteurs carbonés dans leur ensemble sont présents à l'étape a).
  3. Procédé selon la revendication 1 ou 2, en ce que la quantité de composants réducteurs globaux à l'étape a) est inférieure à 3 % en poids, de préférence inférieure à 2 % en poids, en particulier inférieure à 1 % en poids, et de manière très préférentielle 0 % sur la base de la quantité de matériau de minerai de chrome, COPR et composants réducteurs.
  4. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, en ce que le matériau de minerai de chrome contient
    • de l'oxyde de chrome(III) : 26 à 54 % en poids, en particulier de préférence 40 à 45 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde d'aluminium : 10 à 30 % en poids, en particulier de préférence 13 à 18 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de fer(II) : 12 à 36 % en poids, en particulier de préférence 20 à 28 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de magnésium : 9 à 22 % en poids, en particulier de préférence 10 à 15 % en poids,
    • de l'oxyde de calcium : < 5 % en poids, en particulier de préférence < 1 % en poids, et
    • de l'oxyde de silicium : 1 à 18 % en poids, en particulier de préférence 2 à 5 % en poids,
    tandis que les % en poids se réfèrent au poids du matériau de minerai de chrome.
  5. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 4, en ce que la teneur en Cr dans le COPR est de 2 à 25% en poids, de préférence de 5 à 9 % en poids, et la teneur en Fe dans le COPR est de 28 à 35 % en poids, de préférence de 29 à 34 % en poids, tandis que les % en poids se réfèrent au poids du COPR.
  6. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 5, en ce que la teneur en Cr(VI) du COPR est < 0,0001 % en poids.
  7. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6, en ce que la calcination à l'étape c) a lieu à des températures comprises entre 1250 °C et 1600 °C, pendant des périodes de 1 à 8 heures, de préférence entre 1300 °C et 1500 °C pendant des périodes de 2 à 5 heures.
  8. Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 7, en ce que la calcination est effectuée dans une atmosphère inerte ou réductrice.
