Description

The invention relates to a writing implement with a clip, a first clip element being movable relative to a further clip element.

Writing implements, e.g. ballpoint pens, are often used as promotional items. Companies can customize pens by printing the company name or the company logo. Such imprints are primarily applied to the clip or the barrel of the writing instrument.

The possibilities for achieving an advertising effect that go beyond imprints on the clip or barrel are limited with known writing implements.

US 6,752,557 B1 discloses a writing implement with a clip (61 there) and an adjusting knob (40 there) which is guided in the clip. A similar writing instrument is in US 6,773,185 B1 disclosed.

CN 202 685 634 U relates to a pen cap with an integrated ear spoon. US 2005/238411 A1 relates to a pen with a clip with a letter opener and U.S. 6,076,986 A relates to a toothpick integrated in a pin clamp.

EP 2 028 018 A2 describes a pen with a clamp attachment to which a data storage device (USB stick) is attached as a pen clip, DE 94 08 373 U1 and KR 2011 0000540 U each relate to a clip attachment or clip extension to which an individualization part can be plugged.

The object of the invention is to provide a writing implement for which an improved advertising effect is tailored, in particular which makes an enlarged advertising area usable without noticeably increasing the external dimensions of the writing implement. The advertising space should also be in a particularly effective advertising area.

A writing implement includes a shaft and a clip. The shaft has a shaft tip. The clip comprises a first clip element and a second clip element, the second clip element having an end that faces the shaft tip. Analogously, the writing means can be extended from the writing implement in the first position and retracted into the shaft in the second position.

Typically, the transition from the first position to the second position takes place by a user actuating a push button on the end of the writing instrument facing away from the shaft tip. Alternatively, a transition from the first position to the second position is possible by rotating a first shaft section relative to a second shaft section.

During a transition from the first position to the second position, the first and the second clip element move relative to one another, so that the second clip element moves a little (in the axial direction with respect to the central axis of the shaft) over the first clip element. Claims (15)

1. Writing instrument with a barrel/shaft (3) and a clip (5), wherein

   (a) the shaft (3) has a shaft tip (3a);

   (b) the clip (5) comprises a first clip element (6) and a second clip element (7), the second clip element (7) having an end (7a) facing the shaft tip (3a);

   (c) the first and second clip member (6,7) are movable relative to each other between first and second positions;
   and

   (d) a first distance (S1) between the end (7a) of the second clip element (7) facing the shaft tip (3a) and the shaft tip (3a) in the first position is greater by at least 1.0 mm than the first distance (S1) between the end (7a) of the second clip element (7) facing the shaft tip (3a) and the shaft tip (3a) in the second position.
2.
