Definitions
- the invention relates to an overcurrent and/or short-circuit detector according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- the U.S. 3,970,901 shows a method and an arrangement for short circuit detection.
- the EP 1 772 936 A2 describes an arc detector.
- the DE 10 63 696 B relates to an overcurrent protection circuit for AC circuits and consists in that a device is provided by which the time integral of the current from its zero crossing is measured at each half cycle and gives a command to trip a current interrupting switch as soon as the current integral over time in the course of a half-wave exceeds a predetermined value.
- the object of the invention is therefore to specify an overcurrent and/or short-circuit detector of the type mentioned at the beginning, with which the disadvantages mentioned can be avoided, with which a safe and against false triggering stable overcurrent and/or short circuit detection is possible.
- the invention also relates to a protective switching device with an actual overcurrent and/or short-circuit detector.
- the invention further relates to a method for overcurrent and/or short-circuit detection according to patent claim 5, which solves the above-mentioned problem and results in the claimed advantages.
- the 1 shows an overcurrent and/or short-circuit detector 1, in particular for a protective switching device 2, with at least one current sensor 3 for recording a current signal with a definable time resolution in at least one electrical current path 4, and at least one evaluation unit 5.
- the overcurrent and/or short-circuit detector 1 is provided for monitoring at least one electrical current path 4 or an electrical conductor.
- overcurrent and/or short-circuit detectors 1 can also be configured for a predeterminable number of electrical current paths 4 .
- the overcurrent and/or short-circuit detector 1 has at least one current sensor 3 for each current section, which, for example, comprises a shunt, a Hall sensor and/or a Förster probe, or as another sensor.
- the current sensor 3 is designed to record a current curve over time and has a definable time resolution. Since an analysis of the time behavior of the current is provided and transient processes are to be recorded, it is preferably provided that the current sensor 3 has a time resolution of better or less than 125 ⁇ s, corresponding to a sampling rate of 8 kHz for a digital version of the current sensor 3 . A sampling rate of at least 20 kHz, corresponding to a time resolution of 50 ⁇ s, is particularly preferred.
- the overcurrent and/or short circuit detector 1 also has an evaluation unit 5 which is connected to the current sensor 3 in terms of communication technology, in particular circuit technology.
- the evaluation unit 5 is preferably designed to include a microcontroller, but it can also be provided that it is designed purely in hardware or by means of a programmable logic circuit.
- the evaluation unit 5 is designed to determine a first point in time of a predefinable steep increase in the current signal. For this purpose, the corresponding derivation is formed, which is a measure of the steepness of an increase. The so-called slew rate is determined. The steepness of the increase is compared with a limit value. If the steepness of the increase exceeds the limit value, the possibility of an overcurrent and/or short circuit is considered given and the current curve is analyzed further. In this case, a timer is started when the possible overcurrent and/or short circuit occurs. The relevant point in time is defined as the first point in time.
- the evaluation unit 5 then forms the time integral of the current values of the current signal from the first point in time to a second point in time following this. It is preferably provided that the second point in time is at most one period duration of an applied mains frequency after the first point in time. With a mains frequency of 50 Hz, the second point in time is therefore a maximum of 20 ms after the first point in time. For selected cases, the span between the first and second point in time can also be larger.
- the evaluation unit 5 continuously develops the integral.
- the respective value of the integral after a certain period of time is thereby together with the Value of the current signal combined into a pair of values for the period in question.
- This pair of values is compared by the evaluation unit 5 with at least one limit condition that can be specified.
- the formation of the pair of values and their comparison with the limit condition is preferably carried out essentially continuously, it being provided in particular that this comparison is carried out in accordance with the sampling rate of the current sensor 3 .
- FIG. 3 shows a graphical representation of possible values of the value pair.
- the family of curves entered, corresponding to the representation of a hurricane, consists of a large number of curves, with each of the curves, which is a so-called locus curve, representing a possible course of the current. Since the relevant individual curves are each located within the surrounding ellipse, these are also permitted or permissible current profiles.
- the boundary condition is as follows: ⁇ i ⁇ y 0 2 / a 2 + i ⁇ x 0 2 / b 2 ⁇ 1
- This equation defines an ellipse 12. This is in 3 registered.
- the overcurrent and/or short circuit detector 1 issues an overcurrent and/or short circuit message at an output 11 of the overcurrent and/or Short circuit detector 1 outputs.
- the evaluation unit 5 is connected to the output 11 for this purpose.
- the output 11 itself can be designed both electrically and mechanically.
- FIG. 2 shows a block diagram of a protective switching device 2. Only a single electrical current path 4 from a first connection 6 of the protective switching device 2 to a second connection 7 of the protective switching device 2 is shown, with the protective switching device 2 also having a larger number of current paths 4 and connections 6, 7 can.
- the protective switching device 2 is to have an actual overcurrent and/or short-circuit detector 1 .
- the protective switching device 2 is to designed to interrupt the current path 4 after an overcurrent and/or short circuit message from the overcurrent and/or short circuit detector 1 .
- the protective switching device 2 has a corresponding interruption unit 8, which can be designed using a switching mechanism and mechanical contacts, using hybrid switching technology or as a pure solid-state interrupter.
- the overcurrent and/or short circuit detector 1 is connected to the interruption unit 8 .

Description
Fig. 2 ein Blockschaltbild eines gegenständlichen Schutzschaltgeräts; und -
Slew Rate ermittelt.
- In
- Diese Gleichung definiert eine Ellipse 12. Dies ist in
Fig. 3 eingetragen.
-
Fig. 2 zeigt ein Blockschaltbild eines Schutzschaltgeräts 2.
