Description

The present invention relates to light sources, in particular for a lighting and / or signaling device of a motor vehicle, of the organic light-emitting diode type, called OLEDs in what follows.

It relates more particularly to the electrical connection of an OLED of a lighting device to an external element such as an electrical supply network of the motor vehicle.

The light sources used for lighting and signaling in motor vehicles are more and more frequently made up of light-emitting diodes, in particular for the advantages of size and range compared to conventional light sources. The use of electroluminescent diodes in lighting and / or signaling modules has also enabled market players (automobile manufacturers and designers of lighting and / or signaling devices) to bring a creative touch to the design of these devices, in particular for the use of an ever greater number of these light-emitting diodes to achieve optical effects.

Certain lighting devices for motor vehicles also take advantage of OLED technology, the main attraction of which is the realization of complex shapes improving the aesthetic appearance of the device and of the lighting. Light devices comprising an OLED source have in particular been used for rear position light functions.

The connection between cathode and anode of the OLED is generally made via a flexible printed circuit, or fPCB hereinafter, for “flexible Printed Circuit Board ” in English.

For example, the figure 1 illustrates an OLED 100 according to the prior art. An fBCP 101 is connected to the anode and cathode of the OLED. The connection with the power supply of the motor vehicle is made by welding a first wire 102.1 and a second wire 102.3, the first wire 102.1 being attached to the anode, and the second wire 102.2 being attached to the cathode, for example.

The fPCB 101 is generally thin and the solder bond is brittle.

EP 3.026.761 divulgue une source lumineuse selon le préambule de la revendication 1.There is therefore a need for a connection ensuring electrical contact mechanically, without welding, and in a robust manner. EP 3,026,761 discloses a light source according to the preamble of claim 1.

La présente invention vient améliorer la situation.The present invention improves the situation.

  • une diode électroluminescente organique ;
  • une portion de connexion électronique apte à permettre l'alimentation électrique de ladite diode électroluminescente organique ;
  • un connecteur apte à recevoir une alimentation électrique depuis un élément extérieur ;
A first aspect of the invention relates to a light source comprising:
  • an organic light emitting diode;
  • an electronic connection portion capable of enabling the power supply of said organic light-emitting diode;
  • a connector adapted to receive an electric power supply from an external element;
  • a means for plating the connector on the connection portion.

A mechanical connection is thus made on the electronic connection portion with a connector. It is thus made possible to create a connector, one end of which is not connected to the connection portion is easily connectable to an element external to the light source, such as a power supply circuit for example. According to the invention, the connection portion is a flexible printed circuit forming an anode and a cathode of the organic light-emitting diode.

According to one embodiment, the connector may include tabs for connection to the external element.

The use of a tab, having a dimension greater than the other two dimensions in space, makes it possible to obtain an easily accessible connector, which is particularly advantageous, in particular in a constrained environment such as a motor vehicle headlight.

In addition, the light source can comprise two connection tabs, a first connection tab being intended to be connected to the anode and a second connection tab being intended to be connected to the cathode.

Thus, both the anode and the cathode can be easily connected to the outer member.

In addition or alternatively, the connection tabs may have different sizes or shapes.

Such an embodiment makes it possible to easily differentiate the tabs, thus facilitating the connection of the light source to the external element which can be a supply circuit.

According to one embodiment, the plating means may be able to at least partially encapsulate the organic light-emitting diode so as to press each tab against the connection portion.

Thus, the elements of the light source are mechanically connected, improving the strength of the connection between the tabs and the connection portion.

In addition, the plating means can comprise a first part and a second part, the first and second parts being able to be assembled so as to achieve the encapsulation of the organic light-emitting diode.

Thus, the use of two parts makes it possible to facilitate the assembly of the elements of the light source.

Still further, the first and second parts can be connected by a hinge.

It is thus possible to disengage the OLED from the plating means, in order to replace it for example.

Additionally or alternatively, the plating means may fully encapsulate the organic light emitting diode.

The protection of the OLED is thus ensured. For example, the material of the plating means can be waterproof, thus ensuring the tightness of the light source.

According to one embodiment, the connector comprises a first positioning means and the plating means comprises a second positioning means, the first and second positioning means being complementary so as to position the connector in a predetermined position on the connection portion .

Thus, it is made possible to assemble with precision, in a simple manner, the light source.

For example:
  • the first positioning means comprises a stud and the second positioning means comprises a hole complementary to the stud; or
  • the second positioning means comprises a stud and the first positioning means comprises a hole complementary to the stud.

In addition or as a variant, the connector can comprise at least two first positioning means and the plating means comprises at least two second positioning means, the first and second positioning means being complementary so as to position and block the connector in rotation. in a predetermined position on the connection portion.

Thus, the light source is stable and robust and can be accurately connected to the outdoor element.

According to one embodiment, the connector may comprise gold and the electronic connection portion comprises a nickel-gold alloy. Alternatively, the connector can include tin and the electronic connection portion includes tin.

In both cases, any electron migration or corrosion of the light source is advantageously avoided.

A second aspect of the invention relates to a light module for a motor vehicle comprising at least one light source according to the first aspect of the invention.

It is thus easy to differentiate the light sources by their connectors and the light sources can thus have different characteristics without running the risk of making an error in the connection of the light sources to the external element which may be a supply circuit.

Additionally, the first connector of the first light source includes a first connector tab and a second connector tab, and the second connector of the second light source includes a third connector tab and a fourth connector tab and a first spacing between the first connection tab and the second connection tab is different from a second spacing between the third connection tab and the fourth connection tab.

It is thus not possible to interchange the connections of the light sources to the exterior element.
