Description

The present invention relates to security lighting units, that is to say lighting units intended to display luminous signage in establishments open to the public, as well as to ensure, for example, the marking of exits from such a establishment and / or that of the services offered therein, only to provide security lighting.

The invention relates more particularly to an emergency lighting unit comprising:
  • a support box formed of a base, open on the front face, adapted to be fixed to a wall or a ceiling by its bottom wall, and of a cover comprising a front face to be attached to the front face of the base to form a housing reception for an electrical supply circuit and corresponding electrical contacts, and
  • a light panel consisting of at least one signaling label and a light guide joined at their periphery by a frame, said light guide being designed to diffuse towards said signaling label the light emitted by at least one light source arranged along at least one edge of said frame, said light panel being adapted to contact said electrical contacts in a mounted state of said light panel on said front face of the cover for supplying power to said light source, both in a first mounted state in which said light panel is disposed in a plane parallel to said front face and in a second mounted state in which said light panel is disposed in a plane perpendicular to said front face.

Such a lighting unit is well known, in particular by the example given in the document. EP 2 942 770 . Such a block is particularly suitable for allowing its installation both on a wall and on a ceiling, advantageously using the same support box for the two types of installation. The light panel is then assembled to the cover of the support box according to the first assembly state, in the case of the installation of the support box on a wall and according to the second assembly state, in the case of the installation of the support box on a wall. a ceiling. According to the aforementioned document, the first and second states of mounting the light panel on the cover of the support box require the use of mounting means by clipping, of a on the one hand at the level of the panel and, on the other hand, at the level of the box, which are specific and dedicated to each of the respective mounting states of the light panel on the support box. In particular, the clip-on mounting means comprise a first set of specific spare parts in order to allow the assembly of the light panel to the support box in the first assembly state and a second set of specific spare parts in order to allow the assembly of the light panel to the support box in the second state of assembly. In other words, the technician in charge of installing the block must have several sets of specific spare parts to be able to adapt to different possible installation configurations of the block, on the wall or on the ceiling. Once the block is installed in a given layout configuration with the corresponding set of spare parts, the other set of spare parts, unused for assembly, is left aside. The management of these sets of spare parts, which allow the assembly of the light panel to the support box of the block in its different installation configurations, leads on the one hand to an additional production cost and, on the other hand, to environmental impacts. unfavorable, with regard to the treatment of unused parts.

In this context, the aim of the present invention is to provide an emergency lighting unit free from the previously mentioned limitations and, in particular, which makes it possible to implement the functions of assembling the light panel to the unit support housing in the units. two assembly states without having unused parts after assembly.

To this end, the emergency lighting unit of the invention, moreover in accordance with the generic definition given by the preamble above, and as disclosed in claim 1, is essentially characterized in that said cover comprises connectors intended to come into engagement, in said first mounted state, with said frame, said frame having an outer section defining a housing intended to interlockingly receive said connectors in said second mounted state.

Thanks to this arrangement, the frame can be fixed to the cover according to the two assembly states, without requiring any specific spare part for one or the other of the two assembly states.

Advantageously, said connectors are two lateral tenons made in one piece with said cover and arranged on opposite sides longitudinally of said front face, each intended to come to be clipped, in said first mounting state, in a corresponding notch made on a transverse internal wall portion of said frame.

Also advantageously, said frame has an outer V-shaped or U-shaped section, of which two longitudinal wings projecting from a longitudinal inner wall of said frame define said housing, said housing being in the form of a mortise.

Thus, the means allowing the assembly of the light panel to the cover in the two mounting states, advantageously participate in providing improved aesthetics of the unit. Indeed, in the first state of assembly, the lateral tenons on the front face of the cover are clipped on the interior side of the profiled frame, which makes them invisible to an observer. Likewise, the lateral tenons are made invisible in the second assembly state, insofar as they are engaged interlocking in a corresponding housing in the form of a mortise arranged between two longitudinal wings delimiting an outer section in the form of a V or U of the frame, so that the two longitudinal wings of the frame hide the lateral tenons of the cover which are fitted therein in the second assembly state. In addition, the tenon-mortise assembly is particularly favorable for ensuring the cohesion of the light panel and the cover in a perpendicular orientation of these parts to each other in the second assembly state.

As a variant, the connectors could also be constituted by magnetic or electromagnetic fixing means, adapted to fix the cover to the light panel in the two mounting states by cooperation with corresponding magnetic fixing sites provided on the frame of the light panel.

  • lesdits deux tenons latéraux comportent un corps et un bord rigide faisant saillie dudit corps et destiné à s'insérer dans ladite encoche ;
  • lesdits deux tenons latéraux présentent, en coupe transversale, un profil ayant une section en forme de trapèze ;
  • lesdits deux tenons latéraux comportent un insert métallique adapté pour le contact avec lesdits contacts électriques ;
  • chaque encoche et logement, adaptés à coopérer avec lesdits deux tenons latéraux respectivement dans lesdits premier et second états de montage, sont pourvus de plages de connexion métalliques respectives adaptées pour le contact avec l'insert métallique desdits deux tenons latéraux dans chacun desdits premier et second états de montage ;
  • ladite source lumineuse comprend des bornes de connexion électrique reliées auxdites plages de connexion métalliques par des pistes conductrices disposées sur ledit cadre profilé ;
  • ladite source lumineuse comprend une barrette de diodes électroluminescentes disposée le long de ladite paroi interne longitudinale, de sorte que lesdites diodes électroluminescentes soient orientées vers ledit guide de lumière ;
Other non-limiting and advantageous characteristics of the lighting unit are defined as follows:
  • said two lateral tenons comprise a body and a rigid edge projecting from said body and intended to fit into said notch;
  • said two lateral tenons have, in cross section, a profile having a section in the form of a trapezoid;
  • said two lateral tenons comprise a metal insert adapted for contact with said electrical contacts;
  • each notch and housing, adapted to cooperate with said two lateral tenons respectively in said first and second mounting states, are provided with respective metal connection pads adapted for contact with the metal insert of said two lateral tenons in each of said first and second states of assembly;

With reference to figures 1 to 3 , the emergency lighting unit 1 of the invention comprises a support housing 2 intended to be attached as a projection on a mounting wall, such as a wall or a ceiling. The support box 2 comprises a base (not shown), forming a fixing bracket, intended to be fixed by its back wall to the wall or to the ceiling, and coming to be closed on the front face, opposite the back wall, by a cover 20, having a rectangular front face 21, bordered by a side wall 22 extending along a rectangular outline, so as to define with the base a reception housing 23 for an electrical equipment mechanism of the unit (not shown), Typically comprising an electronic circuit for the power supply of the unit, electrical contacts as well as possibly accumulators. The cover 20 of the support box 2 has the overall shape of an elongated parallelepiped. It thus extends in length according to a longitudinal axis X, in width according to a transverse axis Y and in thickness according to a frontal axis Z. In position of installation on a wall ( figures 1 and 2 ), the cover 20 of the support box 2 is attached to the wall wall such that its longitudinal axis X extends horizontally to the wall wall, that its transverse axis Y extends vertically and that its front axis Z extends perpendicular to the wall. In position of installation on a ceiling ( figure 2 ), the cover 20 of the support box 2 is attached to the ceiling wall such that its longitudinal axis X and its transverse axis Y extend horizontally to the ceiling wall and that its front axis Z extends perpendicularly to the ceiling wall.

The cover 20 of the support housing of the block is preferably made in one piece by molding a rigid plastic material, such as polycarbonate.

The unit also comprises a light panel 3 consisting of at least one signaling label 31, illustrating safety information, such as for example the presence of an emergency exit, and of a light guide 32, joined to their periphery by a frame 30. The frame 30 is preferably a rectangular profiled frame 30 of plastic material. The rectangular profile frame 30 is made in one piece by molding a plastic material, such as polycarbonate. Provision is made for the length and width dimensions of the rectangular profiled frame 30 to coincide with those of the rectangular front face 31 of the cover 20 of the support housing of the block, on which the light panel 30 is intended to be mounted, or in a parallel plane to the latter in a first mounted state, or in a plane perpendicular to the latter, in a second mounted state.

The figure 4 illustrates a sectional view along the plane (XZ) of the safety block of the invention in the first state of assembly and the figure 5 illustrates a sectional view along the plane (YZ) of the block of the safety block of the invention in the second state of assembly.

As illustrated more precisely on the sectional views of the figures 4 and 5 , the outer peripheral part of the profiled frame 30 has a cross section, called the outer section of the frame, in the shape of a "V" open outwards and the base of which constitutes transverse 33 and longitudinal 34 internal walls, delimiting the interior of the profiled frame 30, where the signaling label 31 and the light guide 32 are housed. Two transverse wings 35, slightly diverging, projecting outwardly, from each transverse internal wall 33 of the frame and they longitudinal wings 36, slightly divergent, projecting outwardly, from each longitudinal internal wall 33 of the frame 30. Here, the profiled frame 30 has a V-shaped section with its two lateral wings, respectively in the direction transverse and longitudinal direction, which diverge from each other from the base but, alternatively, it could have a U-section with its two lateral wings by alleles.

As can be seen better on the figure 5 , the internal face of the longitudinal internal walls 34 of the frame 30, that is to say the face oriented towards the interior of the frame, opposite the longitudinal wings 36 with respect to the longitudinal internal wall 34, is provided with 'a longitudinal groove 37, intended to position and maintain the lower and upper edges respectively of the light guide 32 and of the signaling label 31 within the profiled frame 30.

La paroi interne longitudinale supérieure 34 est pourvue d'une pluralité d'ouvertures dans lesquelles est disposée la pluralité de diodes électroluminescentes portées par le circuit imprimé lorsque ce dernier est fixé contre la face externe de la paroi interne longitudinale supérieure du cadre profilé 30.Moreover, and as illustrated in figure 5 , the rectangular profiled frame 30 is provided with a light source 4, in the form of a elongated printed circuit, arranged according to the exemplary embodiment against an external face of the upper longitudinal internal wall 34 of the profiled frame 30 (“upper” here being understood in the position of the block 1 as shown in FIG. figure 5 ), and on which is mounted aligned a plurality of light emitting diodes. The elongated printed circuit of the light source 4 is for example fixed by gluing along this external face of the upper longitudinal internal wall 34 of the frame 30. The upper longitudinal internal wall 34 is provided with a plurality of openings in which is arranged the plurality of light-emitting diodes carried by the printed circuit when the latter is fixed against the external face of the upper longitudinal internal wall of the profiled frame 30.

The light guide 32, in the form of a plate for example made of polymethyl methacrylate (abbreviated PMMA, from the English Polymethyl Methacrylate), is mounted inside the profiled frame 30, so that its upper edge housed in the longitudinal groove 37 made in the outer face of the upper longitudinal inner wall facing said openings, to form an optical coupling surface with the light emitting diodes of the light source 6. The light emitted by the light emitting diodes is emitted laterally in the light guide 32. The latter comprises a first surface, forming a surface for diffusing the light towards the signaling label 31 disposed above, preferably by means of a thin diffusing film (not shown ), for example with a thickness of the order of a hundred microns and made of PC (polycarbonate) or PET (polyethylene terephthalate), and intended to be interconnected random between the light guide 32 and the signaling label 4 during assembly of the assembly in the profiled frame 30 in order to homogenize the emitted light. The light guide 32 also includes a second surface opposite the first surface, and on which is formed an array of microlenses to direct the light conducted in the light guide towards the diffusing film. These microlenses, for example spherical, thus form an extraction layer of the light guide 32 making it possible to improve the extraction of light towards the diffusing film. A reflective film, not shown, may further be disposed adjacent to this second surface of the light guide 32.

The light guide, the diffusing film and the signaling label are mounted maintained in plane contact with each other and joined at their periphery by the profiled frame 30, so as to constitute the light panel 3 of the unit.

We will now describe more precisely the assembly of the light panel 3 to the cover 20 of the support housing of the block. As already described, the light panel can be assembled to the cover 20 according to two assembly states, respectively a first assembly state, where the light panel 3 extends in a plane parallel to the front face 21 of the lid 20, corresponding to a configuration of implantation of the block on a wall, and a second assembly state, where the light panel 3 extends in a plane perpendicular to the front face 21 of the cover 20, corresponding to a configuration of implantation of the block on a ceiling .

To do this, the cover 20 comprises two lateral tenons 24, 25, arranged on opposing sides longitudinally of the front face 21 of the cover 20. The two lateral tenons 24, 25 are preferably arranged along a longitudinal median plane of the cover 20. They are preferably molded, in one piece with the rest of the cover 20. They are adapted to make it possible to subject the light panel 3 to the cover 20, in the two mounting states.

The first state of assembly is described with reference to figure 4 . The lateral tenons 24 and 25 are intended, in this first state of assembly, to each come to be clipped in a corresponding notch 330 made on the internal face of the transverse internal wall 33 of the profiled frame 30, when the latter, brought overhanging of the front face 21 of the cover 20, being disposed parallel to the latter, comes to be forcefully applied against it. During this operation, the profiled frame 30, which has a certain flexibility due to its shape, is deformed, thus allowing the introduction of the lateral tenons 24, 25 in their corresponding notch 330 provided on the internal face of the transverse internal wall 30 of the frame. The lateral tenons 24, 25 comprise a rigid edge 240, 250 projecting from the body of the tenon and intended to fit into said notch 330. When the lateral tenons 24, 25 are inserted into their respective corresponding notch 330, the profiled frame 30 is kept fixed to the cover 20 in a plane parallel to the front face 21 of the latter, advantageously masking the lateral tenons, and is superimposed on the cover in a substantially contiguous manner, that is to say in a compact manner, with no space between them. In addition, in this mounted state, the outer peripheral part of the profiled frame 30 is substantially aligned with the side wall 22 of the cover 20. The assembly then forms a particularly compact block.

The second mounting state of the light panel to the cover is now described with reference to figure 5 . In this second state of assembly, the light panel 3 is intended to be assembled to the cover 20 by being arranged in a plane perpendicular to the front face 21 of the cover 20. To do this, the lateral tenons 24, 25 arranged on the front face 21 of the cover 20 are provided this time to cooperate with the longitudinal wings 36 projecting outwardly from the upper longitudinal internal wall 34 of the profiled frame 30. More precisely, the two longitudinal wings 36 of the upper longitudinal internal wall 34 of the profiled frame, define between them, at each of their respective ends, a housing 38 in the form of a mortise, arranged overhanging the external face of the upper longitudinal internal wall 34 and intended to receive interlocking the lateral tenons 24, 25 in the second state of assembly. Thus, each housing 38 has an interlocking profile complementary to the profile of the lateral tenons 24, 25, in which the latter can engage by sliding, in the manner of a tenon in a mortise. The lateral tenons have, for example, in cross section, a profile having a section in the form of a trapezoid. The interlocking profile of the housings 38 defined between the two longitudinal wings 36, advantageously results from the same manufacturing process by molding the profiled frame. The lateral tenons 24, 25, once inserted into their housing 38 in the form of a mortise corresponding to the interlocking profile defined between the two longitudinal wings 36, make it possible to maintain the profiled frame 30 in a plane perpendicular to the front face 21 of the cover , while being masked from the outside by the longitudinal wings 36. In addition, the profiled frame 30, in this second mounting state, is mounted movable in translation along its upper longitudinal internal wall 34, which facilitates operations. assembly and disassembly of the frame.

For the power supply of the light source 6 fitted to the light panel 3, it is necessary to connect the electrical contacts arranged in the reception housing 23 of the support box to terminals of electrical connection of the light-emitting diode printed circuit constituting the light source 6. To do this, provision can be made for electrical conductive cables to circulate from the reception housing and exit through an orifice provided for this purpose on the front face of the cover in order to establishing said electrical connection between the electrical contacts in the receiving housing and the electrical connection terminals of the light-emitting diode printed circuit. The cable outlet orifice is provided along the median longitudinal plane of the cover between the two lateral tenons, so that in the second mounting state, said orifice opens out between the longitudinal flanges of the profiled frame. Thus, the longitudinal wings make it possible to hide the cables.

As a variant, the two lateral tenons 24, 25 comprise a metal insert adapted to allow contact with the electrical contacts in the reception housing. In other words, each tenon is covered at least in part with a metal insert, which is adapted to extend in the reception housing to the electrical contacts through an opening arranged on the front face of the cover, at the foot. of the tenon. Each notch 330 and each housing 38, adapted to cooperate with the two lateral tenons 24, 25, to achieve the assembly of the profiled frame 30 on the cover 20 in the two mounting states, are also provided with metal connection pads, which are adapted to be brought into contact with the metal insert of the lateral tenons 24, 25 in each of the two respective mounting states. The electrical connection terminals of the light-emitting diode printed circuit are then connected to these metal connection pads by conductive tracks which are arranged directly on the profiled frame 30. Also, according to this variant, the electrical connection of the terminals of the light source 6 equipping the profiled frame 30 with the electrical contacts within the receiving housing of the support box is advantageously carried out concomitantly with the assembly of the profiled frame 30 on the cover 20, by the sole connection of the means participating in the assembly, on the one hand by clipping, as regards the tenons 24, 25 and notches 330 in the first state of assembly and, on the other hand, by interlocking, as regards the tenons 24, 25 and housings 38 in the second state of assembly. assembly, without any further action being necessary for an installer.
