Abstract

This invention concerns an instrument that is able to diffuse the sum of at least one LED chip on board matrix assembled on a heatsink, able to obtain a single light beam, varying its amplitude and intensity through a longitudinal movement forward and backward, with respect to the surface of the lens. This invention, being suitable for obtaining light effects, is applied in the field of photography, including film, television and other fields.

Description

  • The systems and tools that enable a truncated cone system to be used to achieve light effects in photography, including film, television and more, are well-known.
  • In particular, this invention refers to a truncated cone diffuser mounted at least on an LED chip on board, or on a series of LED chips on board assembled on a dissipating surface.
  • This invention concerns an instrument that is able to diffuse the sum of at least one LED chip on board matrix assembled on a heatsink, able to obtain a single light beam, varying its amplitude and intensity through a longitudinal movement forward and backward, with respect to the surface of the lens. The operator often uses instruments where the LED chip on board remains fixed and the lens is moved forward or backward through telescopic mechanisms, or through the use of parabolic systems, to vary the angle of the beam of light.
  • In these operations, the user must telescopically remove the lens, act on existing telescopic systems or operate parabolic elements. This is a significant loss of time and concentration.
  • The invention, as specified in the claims, solves these problems, as the following main functions are completed with the invention: the addition of at least one LED chip on board matrix to form a single light beam, improving its homogeneity, variation of the light beam angle through movement of the instrument and use of a single truncated cone diffuser housed on a heatsink cooled by a fan, further improving overall heat dissipation.
  • According to the invention, the diffuser consists of a central body with a truncated cone open at the ends and a base on the smaller end of the truncated section, with housing for at least one LED chip on board and housings for some clamping elements respectively on the surface of the base.
  • This invention will be better described with the help of drawings that show only one of the possible creations:
    • Figure 1 is a blown-up view of a lighting fixture where the truncated cone diffuser is anchored on a heatsink;
    • Figure 2 is the front view of the luminaire, including the truncated cone diffuser anchored on a heatsink inside a luminaire, where the position of some moving components is highlighted;
    • Figure 3 is a top section view of the luminaire, where the position of the truncated cone diffuser housed on a heatsink with respect to the lens position is highlighted. Moreover, the moving parts suitable for carrying out the movement of said diffuser are also highlighted;
    • Figure 4 is a side-section view of the luminaire and the assembled components involved in its movement;
    • Figure 5 is a detail of figure 2 that shows only the truncated cone diffuser seen from the side and the housings for the clamping elements;
    • Figure 6 is a detail of figure 2 that highlights only the truncated cone diffuser seen from behind, highlighting the housings for the clamping elements, highlighting the position for the housing of some LED chips on board and highlighting the contact surfaces between said diffuser and heatsink;
    • Figure 7 is a detail of figure 2 that highlights the truncated cone diffuser and at least one LED chip on board assembled on the truncated cone heatsink seen from behind, highlighting the contact surfaces between the contact surface of the truncated cone diffuser and the contact surface of the LED chip on board;

  • With reference to the drawings, a device designed to diffuse the sum of at least one LED chip on board matrix housed inside the diffuser device, designed to obtain a single light beam housed on a heatsink by varying the width and intensity of the light beam through a longitudinal movement forward and backward, with respect to the surface of the lens, is indicated in number 4.
  • Said device 4 includes:
    • A thermal heatsink 5 on which a truncated cone diffuser 4 is assembled at the centre of device 5 with one or more LED chips on board 12 inside. This device has a conical section tending to widen outwards. This is the LED chip on board 12 that is assembled on the heatsink 5 inside the diffuser 4, having a contact surface 5a suitable for better heat dissipation. As the truncated cone diffuser 4 is anchored to the surface 5a of heatsink 5, housing at least one said LED chip on board 12 in position 4e on diffuser 4, fixing is provided by way of fixing elements 13, as the truncated cone diffuser 4 is equipped with housings 4c for the clamping of fixing elements 13.
    • Movable elements 2 assembled on the surfaces 5c of the dissipator 5, movable on a guidance system 14 suitable for the movement of the dissipating elements 5, the diffuser 4, the chip on board 12, the inner tube 6 and the fan 7. These movable elements 2 being mounted on a support structure 10 provide an effective engagement with the elements suitable for motion transmission 3, allowing for greater stability and precision of movement. These elements, being capable of moving forward or backward in relation to the plane of lens 1, by way of a motor 9, or manually, having elements suitable for motion transmission 3 as a mechanism.
    • As the support structure 10 is fixed to the lamp structure 11 by way of clamping elements 8 so as to prevent movement, thereby rendering the support structure ' 10 solid.
    • An inner tube 6 is joined and superimposed on one side with the surface 5b of the heatsink 5, having fan 7 in opposition.

Claims (4)

  1. Truncated cone diffuser for LED chip on board, characterised by the fact that the assembly consists of at least one truncated cone diffuser (4) at least one heatsink (5) at least one inner tube (6) at least one LED chip on board (12) at least one fan (7) at least one movable element (2) at least one element suitable for motion transmission (3) housed in at least one guidance system (14), characterised by the fact that the assembly consists of a base (4a) with angular opening from which a shape of truncated cone section (4h) extends from the truncated cone speaker (4) widening outward, respectively assembled on the LED chip on board (12) suitable for containing the LED matrix (12c) placed on the surface (12a) of said LED chip on board (12), characterised by the fact that the truncated cone diffuser (4) for the angular opening truncated cone shape LED chip on board (12) that is open at the ends, consists of a base (4a) and a truncated cone section (4h) that extends from said base (4a) and widens outwards, having on the surface (4b) of the base (4a) of the truncated cone diffuser (4) the housings (4c) for some fixing elements (13) and the open truncated cone part acting as the housing (4e) for said truncated cone diffuser (4), suitable for housing the LED matrix (12c) of at least one LED chip on board (12). The surface (12a) of the LED chip on board (12) is in contact with the surface (4d) of the truncated cone diffuser (4), the surface (12b) of the LED chip on board (12) and the surface (4d) of said diffuser (4) is in contact with the surface (5a) of the heatsink (5) by way of fixing elements (13) with the surface (5b) of the heatsink (5) assembled on one side, in contact with the surface (12b) of the LED chip on board (12) and the surface (4d) of the diffuser (4), in contact with the surface (5a) of the heatsink (5) by way of fixing elements (13) with the surface (5b) of the heatsink (5) assembled on the other side in contact with the air chamber (6) and in opposition, the assembled fan (7) and, on the surface (5c) of the heatsink (5), the moving elements (2) and elements suitable for motion transmission (3) are assembled, housed in the guidance system (14) which is movable.
  2. Truncated cone diffuser for LED chip on board according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that the assembly consists of the truncated cone diffuser (4) from the heatsink (5), the LED (12), the inner tube (6), the fan (7) and being movable , longitudinally with respect to the surface of the lens (1).
  3. Truncated cone diffuser for LED chip on board according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that the assembly consists of the truncated cone diffuser (4), the heatsink (5), the inner tube (6), the LED chip on board (12), the fan (7), the moving elements (2), the elements for motion transmission (3) housed in the guidance systems (14), being suitably integrated with the support structure (10) and the guidance system (14) being asembled on the support structure (10), fixed to the lamp structure (11) by way of clamping elements (8).
  4. Truncated cone diffuser for LED chip on board according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that the assembley consists of the truncated cone diffuser (4) from the heatsink (5) and at least one LED chip on board (12) which is movable, capable of varying the amplitude, intensity and brightness of the LED matrix (12c) placed on at least one LED chip on board (12).
