Definitions

  • the invention also relates to a timepiece comprising a time-setting device conforming to the definition above.
  • the patent document CH 511 in particular describes a time-setting device for a watch whose dial has two hour turns, that is to say two small dials, respectively arranged at 3 o'clock and at 9 o'clock, and who each have their hour and minute hands. Each of these pairs of hands can be set independently of the other pair.
  • the time-setting device comprises a portable device formed by a reference rotatably mounted on a mobile support constituted by a rocker.
  • the return is arranged to be kinematically connected to the rod by a sliding pinion so that the rod drives the return in rotation.
  • This time-setting device further comprises a selector which comprises an external control member comprising a bolt and an eccentric.
  • the bolt is pivotally mounted on the frame by a first of its ends, while its second end protrudes from the middle outside of the watch. The wearer of the watch can thus use the latter to manually switch the control member between two predefined extreme positions.
  • the first end of the bolt is rigidly fixed to the eccentric, and the latter is arranged in such a way that its axis of rotation coincides with the pivot axis of the bolt.
  • the rocker which carries the return is still provided with a second arm permanently recalled against the eccentric by a spring. It will therefore be understood that when the eccentric is actuated in rotation in one direction or the other by means of the bolt, its rotation causes the rocker to pivot in the corresponding direction.
  • the return carried by the rocker is thus brought to cooperate selectively with one or the other of two toothed mobiles respectively in kinematic link with the first and the second pair of needles.
  • Locking or targette time setting devices like the one just described have certain faults.
  • the external control member when the external control member is actuated to cause the return of the player to mesh with another toothed mobile, it is possible that the tops of certain teeth of the return abut against the tops of teeth of the toothed mobile. This situation has the effect of jamming the mechanism, preventing the two teeth to interpenetrate and therefore the mobiles to mesh.
  • the external control member will also lock before having reached the predefined position. The wearer of the watch may feel this blockage, and he may break a component if he tries to force it.
  • the patent document US 330,273 proposes to remedy the above problem thanks to a mechanism with winding stem and original time setting (the capital letters in brackets which appear in the text below refer to the drawings in the aforementioned patent document).
  • the mechanism described in this prior document comprises a portable player formed by a mobile support (D) which is pivotally mounted coaxially with the song wheel of the winder and which carries two toothed mobiles (M and U). These are permanently connected to the winding stem.
  • the mechanism further includes a selector comprising a control lever (A) manually switchable between two predefined positions, and also comprising a Y-shaped spring (B) whose fork (Z) is arranged to bear against a pin (G ) all in that can pivot around this pin.
  • the control lever (A) has a foot (E) which is arranged to be inserted between the legs of the fork (Z) so as to be engaged with the spring (B). The other end of the latter is inserted into a notch formed in a first arm of an oscillating lever (C) which is itself arranged to pivot around an axis (I). The other arm (J) of the swing lever (C) is inserted into a notch (L) of the mobile support (D) of the player.
  • the teeth of the toothed mobile (U) fall between those of the time setting reference (V) as soon as the user has turned the teeth of the mobile (U) slightly by actuating the rod. .
  • the toothed mobile (U) is carried by the player, the latter then accompanies the mobile (U) by ending its travel clockwise.
  • the positioning lever of the player is controlled via the flexible arm constituted by a spring. Under these conditions, the positioning lever may not be held with the rigidity necessary to resist the aforementioned torque and therefore to retain the player in the engagement position.
  • the aforementioned prior patent document teaches that, when the control lever (A) is pulled and the player has finished its travel clockwise, the teeth of the toothed mobile (U) having fallen between those of the time setting reference (V), the oscillating lever (C) completes its own travel counterclockwise. At that time, the edge in a concentric arc of its end (J) cooperates with a concave rounded portion of the inner edge of the notch (L) of the mobile support (D) of the player. In this configuration, the mobile support (D) of the player is blocked. Setting the time can thus be carried out either forwards or backwards, without risk of causing the toothed mobile (U) to disengage from the gear (V).
  • An object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks of the prior art which have just been explained.
  • the present invention achieves this object as well as others by providing a control device for a timepiece according to claim 1 appended.
  • the control device comprises a blocker arranged to be controlled by the external control member so as to come to occupy a first position when the toothed mobile comes to mesh with one of said two mobile and to come to occupy a second position when the toothed mobile comes to mesh with the other of the said two mobile, the blocker being arranged to cooperate with the positioning lever, and / or with the walkman, to prevent the toothed mobile from disengaging from the teeth of said one of the two mobile when the blocker is in the first position, and to prevent the toothed mobile from disengaging from the teeth of said other of the two mobile when the blocker is in the second position.
  • the first and the second mechanism can each be actuated indifferently in one direction and in the other, without risk of causing the disengagement of the toothed mobile from the mobile kinematically connected to the mechanism.
  • the control device comprises stop means comprising two complementary stop elements arranged respectively on the blocker and either on the second arm of the positioning lever or on the support mobile of the player, the stop elements being arranged to be separated from each other when the blocker is in its second position, and to be in abutment against one another, so as to prevent player to pivot in the second direction, when the blocker is in its first position.
  • the control device comprises hooking means comprising two complementary hooks respectively arranged on the blocker and either on the second arm of the positioning lever or on the movable support of the player, the hooks being arranged to be separated from each other when the blocker is in its first position and to cooperate so as to prevent the player from pivoting in the first direction, when the blocker is in its second position .
  • control device comprises, on the one hand, stop means and, on the other hand, hooking means.
  • the figure 1 attached is a partial schematic representation in plan of certain elements of a control device for a timepiece which may be in accordance with a particular embodiment of the invention.
  • the control device shown is intended to serve as time setting. However, in order not to overload the drawing, we have not shown the first and the second mechanism that the control device is supposed to set the time, and it will also be understood that the illustrated control device could have other applications than that of setting the time.
  • the control device shown comprises a winding rod 3 movable axially between a winding position and a time setting position. It should be noted, however, that, alternatively, the winding stem could, for example, be replaced by an external member that would only be mobile in rotation, without the possibility of sliding it.
  • the winding stem could, for example, be replaced by an external member that would only be mobile in rotation, without the possibility of sliding it.
  • the device shown also comprises a correction pinion 5 which is mounted in the axis of the rod 3 so as to rotate with the latter when it is in the time setting position.
  • the pinion 5 is engaged with a gear train formed, in the example illustrated, of two references 7 and 9 mounted free in rotation.
  • the device shown also includes a portable player 12 consisting of a mobile support 13 and a corrector gear 15 which is pivotally mounted on the mobile support. It can be observed that, in the example illustrated, the axis of rotation 10 of the second gear 9 is coincident with the pivot axis of the mobile support of the player 12, and that the gear 15 of the player is arranged to permanently mesh with the reference 9, so that the rod 3 can cause the corrector reference 15 to rotate.
  • the axis of the player could possibly not be concentric with the reference 9.
  • the reference 15 of the player is mounted on a pivot axis 14 which is integral by one of its ends of the support 13.
  • the other end of the axis 14 can slide freely in a slot 16 forming an arc of a circle concentric with the pivot axis of the player.
  • the slot 16 is arranged in the plate (not shown) or in a bridge (not shown).
  • first mobile 17 and the second mobile 19 are respectively in kinematic link with a first and a second mechanism which, in the present example, are two display mechanisms each comprising at least one indicator member (not shown).
  • the control device for a timepiece also includes a selector provided for controlling the player 12 so as to selectively engage the corrector gear 15 with the first or second mobile 17, 19.
  • the selector comprises a pin 21 accessible from outside the timepiece and which is manually switchable between two predefined positions.
  • the selector also includes a positioning lever 23 pivotally mounted on an axis 24.
  • the lever 23 comprises a first and a second arm (referenced respectively 25 and 27) which extend on either side of the pivot axis. It can also be seen that the distal end of the first arm 25 is engaged with the bolt 21 so that the positioning lever 23 is caused to tilt in one direction or the other in reaction to the switches of the bolt.
  • the second arm ends in a U-shaped fork arranged to receive and guide between its branches the axis 14 of the corrector reference 15.
  • the U-shaped fork and the axis 14 together form a kind of articulation which connects the positioning lever 23 and the player 12. Thanks to the presence of this articulated link, the mobile support 13 of the player 12 is forced to accompany by pivoting any tilting of the positioning lever 23.
  • a user can engage the gear 15 of the player 12 selectively with the first mobile 17 or with the second mobile 19.
  • the first arm 25 of the lever 23 is able to deform in bending when it is subjected to a stress.
  • the arm 25 of the positioning lever is deformed so as to allow the bolt 21 to nevertheless tilt to its predefined position.
  • the first arm 25 of the positioning lever is elastic, it behaves like a return spring when it is deformed. As long as the player 12 has not succeeded in reaching its meshing position, it is subjected to an elastic force which pushes it to complete its travel. Thus, when the user actuates the winding rod, so as to offset the teeth of the mobile 15 relative to those of the mobile 17 or those of the mobile 19, the player is pushed to its engagement position under the effect of the spring force of the flexible arm 25. The system thus replaces itself.
  • FIGS. 2A and 2B appended are two schematic plan representations of the same control device for a timepiece, which conforms to a particular embodiment of the invention.
  • this particular embodiment of the invention has all the characteristics already represented in the figure 1 .
  • the elements of the order Figures 2A and 2B that are already in the figure 1 are designated by the same reference numbers.
  • the Figures 2A and 2B show two flip-flops that are not shown in the figure 1 .
  • These two rockers are on the one hand a blocker 31 which is pivoted on an axis 33, and on the other hand, an inter lever 35 which is pivoted on an axis 37.
  • the blocker 31 has two arms which extend radially from the pivot axis 33.
  • the Figures 2B and 2A respectively represent the player 12 in the first correction in which it cooperates with the mobile 17 and in the second correction position in which it cooperates with the mobile 19.
  • the corrector reference 15 of the player is well engaged with the mobile 19.
  • the free end of the axis 14 is stopped against the second stop of meshing (not shown).
  • the control device comprises stop means which are constituted by two complementary stop elements arranged to cooperate so as to retain the player 12 in the second correction position .
  • the two stop elements are constituted respectively by an appendage 43 which has the positioning lever 23 and by the distal end of the locking arm 41 of the blocker 31. It can be seen that the two stops are positioned directly at looking at each other, so that the positioning lever 23 is unable to pivot clockwise, and that the player 12 is therefore immobilized in the second correction position.
  • the presence of the blocker 31 overcomes a drawback of the control devices of the prior art. Indeed, when the reference 9 drives the corrector reference 15 and the mobile 19 in rotation, the resistance opposed by these two mobile generates a resulting torque which tends to rotate the player in one direction or the other depending on the direction in which the reference 9 is rotated using the control rod 3.
  • this resulting torque poses no problem when the reference 9 rotates counterclockwise.
  • the reference 9 rotates clockwise, the resulting torque tends to rotate the player 12 in the same direction, moving it away from the mobile 19.
  • the player risks leaving the second correction position by bending the elastic arm 25 of the positioning lever.
  • the presence of the blocker 31 and the stop means makes it possible to counter this possibility.
  • the control device also comprises hooking means comprising two complementary hooks arranged to cooperate so as to retain the player 12 in the first correction position.
  • the two hooks are constituted respectively by a horn 45 disposed at the base of the second arm 27 of the positioning lever 23 and by a hook 47 which has the end of the blocking arm 41 of the blocker 31.
  • the figure 2B illustrates the two hooks 45, 47 hooked to each other so that the locking arm 41 retains the positioning lever 23, preventing it from pivoting counterclockwise, and that the player is therefore immobilized in the first correction position.
  • an advantage of the device shown in the Figures 2A and 2B is that it does not require providing a return spring for the blocker 31.
  • the hooks 45 and 47 are positioned at a distance from each other so that they do not cooperate.
  • the positioning lever 23 and the blocker 31 are both actuated by means of the inter lever 35.
  • the figure 3 is a schematic plan view of the device for controlling the Figures 2A and 2B , the control device being shown with the player 12 in the first engagement position, as is already the case in the figure 2B .
  • the inter lever comprises a first guide 51 inside which a pin 49 can slide sliding on the end of the arm 25
  • the inter flip-flop further comprises a second guide 55 inside which a pin 53 can slide, fixed on the end of the control arm 39 of the blocker 31.
  • the guide 55 has a shape which approaches that of a Z upside down. Note, however, that the shapes of the guides 51 and 55 depend on the strokes, the lever arms and the desired displacement speeds. These forms can therefore vary considerably from one embodiment to another.
  • the inter flip-flop 35 is arranged to pivot about an axis 37.
  • the operation of the actuation mechanism of the positioning flip-flop 23 and of the blocker 31 by the inter flip-flop 35 is as follows.
  • the pin 53 of the control arm 39 of the blocker 31 is located in the base of the Z which the second guide 55 draws.
  • the base of the Z is substantially parallel to the guide 51 which controls the positioning lever 23.
  • a user actuates the external control member 57, he causes the inter lever 35 to pivot clockwise.
  • the orientation of the guide 51 and of the base of the Z of the guide 55 is such that the pins 49 and 53 are both subjected to a force oriented substantially downwards in the figure.
  • the force exerted on the pin 53 has the effect of rotating the blocker clockwise. By thus pivoting, the blocker causes the hook 47 to separate from the horn 45. Simultaneously, the force exerted on the pin 49 has the effect of pivoting the positioning lever 23 counterclockwise.
  • the positioning lever pivots counterclockwise, it rotates the player 12 in the same direction, so that the corrector reference 15 moves away from the mobile 17 and shifts for go and mesh with the mobile 19.
  • the pin 53 leaves the base of the Z to cross its diagonal part and reach its summit.
  • the pin 53 is again subjected to a force oriented substantially downwards in the figure. This force has the effect of further pivoting the blocker 31 clockwise, so that the time setting device is finally in the configuration of the figure 2A .
