Definitions
- the invention relates to an industrial truck, in particular a forklift or reach truck, with a driver's workplace and a driver's protective roof, which includes a throw-resistant, transparent roof pane to protect the driver.
- the industrial trucks include counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks, which have a driver's workstation and a load part arranged directly in front of the driver's workstation.
- the load part usually comprises a lifting mast with a vertically movable load-carrying device, in particular a load fork.
- These industrial trucks are used in particular in warehouses with high shelf heights. This creates the risk that the load or parts of the load will fall during handling, for example when setting it down or picking it up from an upper shelf.
- a driver's protective roof In order to protect the driver at the driver's workplace in such a case, it is known to provide a driver's protective roof.
- This driver's protective roof can be formed from a strut roof, in which the driver is protected by metal bars or grilles above the driver's workplace.
- the disadvantage of this prior art is that the driver has a limited view of the upper working area of the industrial truck, i.e. the working area of the load-carrying device when it is moved on the lifting mast at the upper end of the lifting area.
- a display device for example a display
- a display device for example a display
- the dashboard and the drive part are designed to be relatively low.
- Such displays which are arranged in the area of a dashboard or on the top of a drive part, are placed in such a way that the driver has the display in his direct field of vision when the load handler is lowered and while the industrial truck is moving.
- an operator located in the driver's workplace looks straight ahead in the direction of the load or upwards while handling the load and in particular when picking up or placing a load, especially at higher lifting heights.
- the operator has a display device arranged on the dashboard or on the top of the drive part in the As a rule, it is no longer in the direct field of vision, so that the information can no longer be read by the operator when stacking and unloading the load.
- the driver of the industrial truck therefore has to turn his head and change the direction of vision in order to be able to see the information on the display while handling the load at high lifting heights. Due to the required rotation of the head and change of viewing direction, the hydraulic functions of the truck cannot function during this time operated, which reduces the handling capacity of the industrial truck. There is also unfavorable ergonomics when handling loads at high lifting heights.
- Such display devices are usually not transparent and therefore impair or narrow the operator's field of vision on the load part and the load to be handled. Therefore, these display devices are usually designed to be compact and small. However, this results in only a limited amount of information being able to be displayed. As a rule, only one piece of information can be displayed, for example the lifting height or the load weight. In addition, the compact dimensions of these display devices lead to poor readability of the information displayed.
- a reach truck is known, in the front window of which a display is arranged, which is glued on in the form of laminated layers.
- the present invention is based on the object of designing an industrial truck of the type mentioned in such a way that information for allows the driver to look up through the roof window without affecting the driver's field of vision.
- the invention enables the driver to keep an eye on the load even when handling loads at higher lifting heights and at the same time to be informed of driver-relevant information that is shown on the transparent display on the roof window.
- the display device By designing the display device as a transparent display, the driver's field of vision is not restricted.
- the invention offers the driver the possibility of looking directly upwards through the roof window and at the same time reading the transparent display.
- the transparent display is conveniently glued to the roof pane.
- the display can also be laminated onto the roof pane from above or below.
- the transparent display is arranged between two panes when the roof pane is designed in multiple layers.
- a projector is provided for this purpose and is aimed at the roof pane.
- the roof pane itself is preferably made of glass, particularly laminated glass.
- Such laminated glass panes are also known as bulletproof glass in particularly impact-resistant or puncture-resistant versions. They consist of several layers of glass panes with plastic films arranged between them.
- the roof panel is made of a transparent plastic material, which is also impact-resistant.
- the display is designed as a transparent electroluminescent display (LED).
- Transparent electroluminescent displays have a structure in which a light-emitting layer, usually a phosphor layer, is arranged between a front and a rear electrode, the front and rear electrodes being made of a transparent and see-through material in order to achieve the transparency and translucency of the entire display.
- a light-emitting layer usually a phosphor layer
- the front and rear electrodes being made of a transparent and see-through material in order to achieve the transparency and translucency of the entire display.
- Such transparent electroluminescent displays are highly robust, have a long service life and are highly resistant to environmental influences, for example oil, fats, acids and chemicals, and can be used at temperatures from -50° to +85° C, so that such displays are suitable for use in industrial trucks even under harsh environmental conditions and in cold stores.
- transparent electroluminescent displays are water-resistant and waterproof, so that these displays can be used in warehouses and when the industrial truck is in operation. can be used outdoors.
- transparent electroluminescent displays have a high image brightness, a high contrast and a high viewing or reading angle of up to 180°, so that the information displayed can be optimally read when the industrial truck is in operation.
- the readability of the information displayed for the operator can be further improved by a single-color or multi-color representation of the information displayed on a transparent electroluminescent display by choosing a suitable color, for example yellow, orange or red.
- the display is designed as a transparent thin-film electroluminescence display (TFT).
- TFT transparent thin-film electroluminescence display
- Such a transparent thin-film electroluminescent display which has a flat and film-like structure, can be formed in any shape, for example curved or curved, and thus also in complex shapes, whereby such a display can be easily installed at a corresponding and suitable location in the The driver's field of vision is attached to the roof window and can be easily adapted to the conditions of the industrial truck.
- the design of the transparent electroluminescent display using thin film technology further enables improved optical properties in the form of reduced light scattering, which can further improve the readability of the information displayed.
- the display is designed as a transparent organic electroluminescence display (OLED).
- OLED organic electroluminescence display
- Such displays have organic light-emitting diodes, i.e. luminous thin-film components made of organic semiconducting materials.
- OLED displays One advantage of OLED displays is the very high contrast, since they do not require a background lighting.
- the load weight determined using a weighing device can be displayed in the transparent display and, in the event of an overload, this can be displayed.
- the lifting device of the load-carrying device is actuated, the lifting height and/or the tilt angle of the load-carrying device can be displayed in the transparent display.
- limiting vehicle reactions for example a maximum permissible driving speed or a maximum permissible lifting height, can be displayed based on the load weight, the type of load or the set lifting height.
- the goods information for the load can be shown in the transparent display.
- the truck When the truck is driving, it makes sense to display the current travel speed or, if a load is being picked up, a maximum permissible travel speed.
- restrictive vehicle reactions for example a necessary reduction in driving speed, can be displayed.
- a direction indicator can be displayed in the transparent display or, if a change in direction is required, a corresponding turn signal can be displayed in order to guide the operator to a target position in the warehouse.
- an order can be displayed in the transparent display by a higher-level warehouse management system that carries out order control in a warehouse.
- symbols of an assistance system can be displayed, for example a lifting height assistance system and/or a tilt angle assistance system Load handling device that guides and/or supports the driver when handling a load.
- the display extends essentially over the entire width of the roof pane.
- the large area of the display allows several pieces of information to be shown simultaneously and in an easy-to-read manner.
- the display is preferably located on the roof window in the driver's field of vision on the load section side, covering the highest adjustment range of the load handling device. This allows the driver to monitor the display information even when the load handling device is at its maximum lifting height, without having to take his eyes off the load.
- the invention offers a whole range of advantages:
- the driver has all the information relevant to load handling in his direct field of vision, even at high lifting heights and therefore looking straight up through the roof window, and therefore does not have to change his direction of vision. This leads to improved ergonomics. Since all information relevant to load handling is in the direct field of vision during load handling, hydraulic functions, for example, can be operated continuously. Assistance systems, in particular for load handling, which support and/or guide the driver in load handling, can also provide the best possible assistance information and provide the driver with the best possible assistance. If the transparent display is not controlled, it is completely transparent. This means that only as much viewing area is used as is needed to display the relevant information. Overall, the driver's line of sight does not have to be changed when reading the display information during load handling at high lifting heights, the driver's view is not obstructed and handling performance is increased. Installation space can also be saved because the display is integrated into the roof pane.
- the industrial truck is a reach truck.
- the reach truck has a driver's workplace 1 for a driver 7.
- the driver's workplace 1 is closed off at the top by a driver's protective roof 3, which has a transparent roof pane 4.
- the driver's protection roof 3 is supported by driver's protection roof pillars 2.
- the roof pane 4 consists of impact-resistant laminated glass.
- the roof pane 4 is provided with a display device designed as a transparent display 5 for displaying information for the driver 7.
- the transparent display 5 is arranged at the top or bottom of the roof pane 5, for example glued on.
- the transparent display 5 can be integrated into the roof pane 4, for example between two panes of a roof pane 4 consisting of several panes.
- Information is displayed on the transparent display 5 in fluorescent orange, yellow or red.
- the display 5 consists, for example, of an OLED film which is arranged between two stacked glass panes of the roof pane 4.
- the transparent display 5 is positioned in the field of vision 6 of the driver 7, who is looking up at a raised load-carrying device (not shown in detail).
- the driver 7 has the opportunity to look directly up through the roof window 4 at a load that has been lifted to a maximum lifting height by means of a lifting mast, not shown, with a liftable load-carrying device, and at the same time to read the transparent display 5.
- the driver 7 thus has all the information relevant to load handling, for example lifting height, load weight, symbols of an assistance system, which are displayed on the transparent display 5, even at large lifting heights and thus steeply upwards through the roof window 4 directed gaze in his direct field of vision and therefore does not have to change his direction of vision.
- FIG 2 the reach truck is made of Figure 1 shown in perspective. The same features are designated with the same reference numbers.
- This view shows the driver 7 looking upwards through the roof window 4.
- the transparent display 5 is located in the field of vision 6 of the driver 7 looking upwards at a raised load-carrying device (not shown in detail).

Description
The invention relates to an industrial truck, in particular a forklift or reach truck, with a driver's workplace and a driver's protective roof, which includes a throw-resistant, transparent roof pane to protect the driver.
The industrial trucks include counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks, which have a driver's workstation and a load part arranged directly in front of the driver's workstation. The load part usually comprises a lifting mast with a vertically movable load-carrying device, in particular a load fork. These industrial trucks are used in particular in warehouses with high shelf heights. This creates the risk that the load or parts of the load will fall during handling, for example when setting it down or picking it up from an upper shelf. In order to protect the driver at the driver's workplace in such a case, it is known to provide a driver's protective roof. This driver's protective roof can be formed from a strut roof, in which the driver is protected by metal bars or grilles above the driver's workplace.
However, the disadvantage of this prior art is that the driver has a limited view of the upper working area of the industrial truck, i.e. the working area of the load-carrying device when it is moved on the lifting mast at the upper end of the lifting area.
In industrial trucks, it is also known to arrange a display device, for example a display, in the area of a dashboard or on the top of a drive part, for example on or in an upper hood of the drive part, within the driver's workplace. In order to restrict the view of the load part as little as possible during operation of the industrial truck, the dashboard and the drive part are designed to be relatively low. Such displays, which are arranged in the area of a dashboard or on the top of a drive part, are placed in such a way that the driver has the display in his direct field of vision when the load handler is lowered and while the industrial truck is moving.
During operation, an operator located in the driver's workplace looks straight ahead in the direction of the load or upwards while handling the load and in particular when picking up or placing a load, especially at higher lifting heights. When handling loads and in particular when picking up or placing a load, especially at higher lifting heights, with the operator looking upwards at the load, there is the problem that the operator has a display device arranged on the dashboard or on the top of the drive part in the As a rule, it is no longer in the direct field of vision, so that the information can no longer be read by the operator when stacking and unloading the load. The driver of the industrial truck therefore has to turn his head and change the direction of vision in order to be able to see the information on the display while handling the load at high lifting heights. Due to the required rotation of the head and change of viewing direction, the hydraulic functions of the truck cannot function during this time operated, which reduces the handling capacity of the industrial truck. There is also unfavorable ergonomics when handling loads at high lifting heights.

Such display devices are usually not transparent and therefore impair or narrow the operator's field of vision on the load part and the load to be handled. Therefore, these display devices are usually designed to be compact and small. However, this results in only a limited amount of information being able to be displayed. The present invention is based on the object of designing an industrial truck of the type mentioned in such a way that information for allows the driver to look up through the roof window without affecting the driver's field of vision.
- Lastgewicht einer aufgenommenen Last
- Load weight of a picked up load
- Overload indicator
- Vehicle information, in particular current lifting height and/or current driving speed and/or current tilt angle of the load handling device
- limiting vehicle reactions
- Direction or turn indication of a warehouse navigation system
- Order information from a warehouse management system
- Goods information of a transported load
- Web browser
- Symbols of an assistance system, in particular a lifting height assistance system and/or a tilt angle assistance system of the load handling device.
The transparent display is conveniently glued to the roof pane.
The display can also be laminated onto the roof pane from above or below.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the transparent display is arranged between two panes when the roof pane is designed in multiple layers.
It is also conceivable to provide a virtual display in which the information is projected onto the roof pane. A projector is provided for this purpose and is aimed at the roof pane.
The roof pane itself is preferably made of glass, particularly laminated glass. Such laminated glass panes are also known as bulletproof glass in particularly impact-resistant or puncture-resistant versions. They consist of several layers of glass panes with plastic films arranged between them.
In another variant, the roof panel is made of a transparent plastic material, which is also impact-resistant.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the display is designed as a transparent electroluminescent display (LED). Transparent electroluminescent displays have a structure in which a light-emitting layer, usually a phosphor layer, is arranged between a front and a rear electrode, the front and rear electrodes being made of a transparent and see-through material in order to achieve the transparency and translucency of the entire display. Such transparent electroluminescent displays are highly robust, have a long service life and are highly resistant to environmental influences, for example oil, fats, acids and chemicals, and can be used at temperatures from -50° to +85° C, so that such displays are suitable for use in industrial trucks even under harsh environmental conditions and in cold stores. In addition, transparent electroluminescent displays are water-resistant and waterproof, so that these displays can be used in warehouses and when the industrial truck is in operation. can be used outdoors. In addition, transparent electroluminescent displays have a high image brightness, a high contrast and a high viewing or reading angle of up to 180°, so that the information displayed can be optimally read when the industrial truck is in operation. In addition, the readability of the information displayed for the operator can be further improved by a single-color or multi-color representation of the information displayed on a transparent electroluminescent display by choosing a suitable color, for example yellow, orange or red.
There are particular advantages if the display is designed as a transparent thin-film electroluminescence display (TFT). Such a transparent thin-film electroluminescent display, which has a flat and film-like structure, can be formed in any shape, for example curved or curved, and thus also in complex shapes, whereby such a display can be easily installed at a corresponding and suitable location in the The driver's field of vision is attached to the roof window and can be easily adapted to the conditions of the industrial truck. The design of the transparent electroluminescent display using thin film technology further enables improved optical properties in the form of reduced light scattering, which can further improve the readability of the information displayed.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the display is designed as a transparent organic electroluminescence display (OLED). Such displays have organic light-emitting diodes, i.e. luminous thin-film components made of organic semiconducting materials. One advantage of OLED displays is the very high contrast, since they do not require a background lighting.
- Lastgewicht einer aufgenommenen Last
- Load weight of a picked up load
- Overload indicator
- Vehicle information, such as current lifting height and/or current driving speed and/or current tilt angle of the load handling device
- limiting vehicle reactions
- Direction or turn indication of a warehouse navigation system
- Order information from a warehouse management system
- Goods information of a transported load
- Web browser
- Symbols of an assistance system, for example a lifting height assistance system and/or a tilt angle assistance system of the load handling device.
When a load is picked up by the load-carrying device, for example, the load weight determined using a weighing device can be displayed in the transparent display and, in the event of an overload, this can be displayed. In addition, when the lifting device of the load-carrying device is actuated, the lifting height and/or the tilt angle of the load-carrying device can be displayed in the transparent display. When picking up a load, limiting vehicle reactions, for example a maximum permissible driving speed or a maximum permissible lifting height, can be displayed based on the load weight, the type of load or the set lifting height. Furthermore, after detecting a newly picked up load, the goods information for the load can be shown in the transparent display. When the truck is driving, it makes sense to display the current travel speed or, if a load is being picked up, a maximum permissible travel speed. In addition, when entering certain storage areas of a warehouse, restrictive vehicle reactions, for example a necessary reduction in driving speed, can be displayed. In addition, if a warehouse navigation system is present, a direction indicator can be displayed in the transparent display or, if a change in direction is required, a corresponding turn signal can be displayed in order to guide the operator to a target position in the warehouse. Furthermore, an order can be displayed in the transparent display by a higher-level warehouse management system that carries out order control in a warehouse. Furthermore, symbols of an assistance system can be displayed, for example a lifting height assistance system and/or a tilt angle assistance system Load handling device that guides and/or supports the driver when handling a load.
Preferably, the display extends essentially over the entire width of the roof pane. The large area of the display allows several pieces of information to be shown simultaneously and in an easy-to-read manner.
If the industrial truck is equipped with a height-adjustable load handling device, the display is preferably located on the roof window in the driver's field of vision on the load section side, covering the highest adjustment range of the load handling device. This allows the driver to monitor the display information even when the load handling device is at its maximum lifting height, without having to take his eyes off the load.
The invention offers a whole range of advantages:
The driver has all the information relevant to load handling in his direct field of vision, even at high lifting heights and therefore looking straight up through the roof window, and therefore does not have to change his direction of vision.
