Description

A HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE COMPRISING A CABLE HOLDER
  • The present invention relates to a household appliance comprising a cable holder that enables the cable harnesses to be safely fixed.
  • In household appliances, in particular in ovens, dishwashers and washer / dryers wherein heaters are used, the heating process is carried out by means of a heater. High temperatures may occur on the casing protecting the heater and hence the components mounted onto the casing. The cable holder is also subject to these high temperatures, the electrical cables held by the same contact the holder or directly the casing by breaking loose from the holder, and thus, the said temperatures cause the cables to melt and to short circuit.
  • The wire-shaped cable holder used in a state of the art washer / dryer supports the cable harnesses. However, the cable harnesses may break loose from the holder due to vibrations caused by the operation of the washer / dryer or any other reason. If the cables are not safely mounted to the holder, the cable harnesses may break loose from the holder and contact the casing so as to melt and cause a short circuit.
  • In the state of the European Patent Application No. EP2107655, a cable holder is disclosed, that is used in household appliances for attaching the cables.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of a household appliance comprising a holder that safely support the cables and that provides an easy assembly of the cables.
  • The household appliance realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a holder that almost completely surrounds the cable harness and that has one or more than one housing formed by rotating the wire on itself.
  • Since the housing almost completely surrounds the fixing member, it becomes impossible for the fixing member to dislodge from the housing. In this embodiment, the circular or helical form of the housing enables the fixing member to be wrapped all around.
  • By means of the present invention, assembly-induced errors are prevented. Moreover, errors such as incorrect fitting of the cable harness that may not be noticed afterwards are prevented. The cable harness is prevented from rotating and breaking loose from its place and the cable is prevented from falling on the casing and melting. The cable harness can be easily fixed onto the casing. Thus, the cable is enabled to be in the ideal length and the cables are prevented from dangling.
  • A household appliance realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where
  • Figure 1 – is the perspective view of the household appliance related to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • Figure 2 – is the view of the holder related to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • Figure 3 – is the view of the holder and the fixing member related to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • Figure 4 – is the view of the holder whereon the fixing member mounted related to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • Figure 5 - is the view of the holder mounted onto the casing and of the fixing members related to an another embodiment of the present invention.
  • The elements in the figures are numbered as follows:
    1. Household appliance
    2. Body
    3. Casing
    4. Holder
    5. Housing
    6. Fixing member
    7. Mounting ring
    8. Arm
    9. Bent portion
    10. Support
    11. Stopper
    12. Recess
    13. Clamp
  • The household appliance (1) comprises a body (2); a casing (3) that is disposed into the body (2) and that protects in particular components with heating function; at least one cable harness that is composed of one or more than one cable that enables the energy supplied by the energy source to be delivered to the components in the household appliance (1); at least one fixing member (6) that holds the cable harness together, and a holder (4)
    • that is in the form of a wire and
    • that has one or more than one housing (5) that almost completely surrounds the fixing member (6) disposed thereon.
  • The holder (4) is mounted to the household appliance (1) in the following manner. The holder (4) is fixed onto the casing (3) from both ends by means of screws, etc. The fixing members (6) that hold the cable harness together are inserted into the housings (5) arranged at certain intervals on the holder (4) and thus, the cable harness is enabled to be safely mounted onto the household appliance (1).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the housing (5) is formed by at least once turning one end of the wire-shaped holder (4) around the point on the holder (4) to which the fixing member (6) is to be attached. Therefore, the housing (5) is hollow and circular. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the housing (5) is in the form of a helical spring (Figure 1 and Figure 2).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the holder (4) comprises one mounting ring (7) on each of the two ends thereof. The mounting ring (7) is formed by rotating the holder (4) in the form of a ring. The holder (4) is fixed onto the casing (3) by means of the screw passed through the mounting ring (7). In this case, the mounting ring (7) is squeezed between the head of the screw and the casing (3).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the holder (4) comprises at least one arm (8) that has a mounting ring (7) at the end thereof and that is formed by bending the holder (4) almost perpendicularly to the plane where the same extends. The arms (8) enable the holder (4) to be fixed onto the casing (3) so that a distance remains between the casing (3) and the holder (4). In this case, a distance as much as the length of the arm (8) is provided between the housings (5) and the casing (3), in other words, the housings (5) hang in the air (Figure 5).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the holder (4) comprises at least one U-shaped bent portion (9) that is arranged between the two ends thereof. The U-shaped bent portion (9) and the housings (5) are located in the same plane. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the U-shaped bent portion (9) is arranged between the two arms (8).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the holder (4) comprises four housings (5) that are arranged in the same horizontal plane. In this embodiment, one of the housings (5) is arranged on the U-shaped bent portion (9).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the fixing member (6) comprises at least one support (10) that enters the housing (5) and a stopper (11), wherein the housing (5) is disposed between the support (10) and the stopper (11). After entering the housing (5), the support (10) moves forward until the stopper (11) bears against the housing (5). When the stopper (11) bears against the housing (5), the fixing member (6) stops. In this case, the housing (5) is located between the support (10) and the stopper (11). In this embodiment of the present invention, the fixing member (6) comprises a recess (12) that is arranged between the support (10) and the stopper (11) and wherein the housing (5) is seated. Moreover, the fixing member (6) comprises a clamp (13) that surrounds and holds the cable harness at the other side of the stopper (11). In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fixing member (6) is the cable tie type clamp with screw anchor (13) (Figure 3 and Figure 4).
