Description

The invention relates to a packaging container made from a single one-piece cardboard blank according to the preamble of claim 1. The invention further relates to a one-piece cardboard blank according to the preamble of claim 11 for such a packaging container, which is preferably erected manually.

Packaging containers are often made from a single, one-piece cardboard blank. The flat cardboard blank usually includes several wall panels, fold lines between the adjacent wall panels as well as a series of folding and / or adhesive flaps. The flat blank is erected for use. The cohesion of the packaging container is usually guaranteed with the help of adhesive tabs. Where the cardboard blank is erected manually, it is advantageous if the erection involves as few work steps as possible.

One of the areas of application for packaging containers that can be easily and quickly set up manually is packaging containers for packaged food and beverages that are used in cinemas and where necessary with food, such as snacks, popcorn or sweets, such as candy bars or bags be filled with wine gum and the drinks in a mug or bottle. To minimize the space required before use, the prefabricated cardboard blanks are usually stored flat or in a folded form. An example of a packaging container for popcorn and a beverage made from a few cardboard blanks is shown in US Pat EP 1 241 104 B1 of the applicant known. It can be used to transport popcorn in a large receptacle and a drink cup in a pocket on the outside of the receptacle by gripping the cup with one hand.

Another example of a packaging container erected from a single cardboard blank is from US Pat DE 20 2005 008 003 U1 known. The packaging container here has the shape of a cuboid box, the upper broad side wall of which is provided with cutouts for inserting a cup or other packaged food.

In both cases, however, it is not possible for a customer to carry more than one packaging container in each hand. The customer must also keep the packaging container upright and carry it in front of him. With large crowds or crowds, this is often difficult to accomplish without spilling part of the content. Another disadvantage of the two packaging containers is that parts of the packaging container have to be glued to one another for their production, which increases the production costs.

In addition, so-called carry handle boxes are known, which are also used for packaging and transporting food. For example, the DE 20 2007 016 657 U1 a packaging container designed as a handle box of the type mentioned, in the manufacture of which no gluing of parts of the packaging container is necessary. In these packaging containers, handle openings are punched out in the two broad side walls, which are positioned one above the other when erected and form a day handle for the box when the two broad side walls are detachably connected to and with one another by engagement of hook-shaped projections in slots in the narrow side walls. However, the erection of such packaging containers is relatively time-consuming. It is also difficult to fix particularly small objects in these packaging containers and make them visible from the outside.

The DE 1 082 487 A discloses a packaging container for carrying cylindrical containers, in which opposite broad side walls provided with punched openings converge upwards and enclose an acute angle, but in which no end side walls are provided.

The US 2,333,560 A discloses a packaging container for bottles, in which opposite broad side walls are provided with punched openings and to converge upwards. The bottles adjacent to the end faces are held in place by sections which are partly punched out of the bottom and partly out of one of the broad side walls and folded inwards.

From the US 2008/0035518 A1 is already known a packaging container of the type mentioned, the end walls each with a protruding retaining tab in the form of a narrow ear are provided, which is inserted during manual erection of the packaging container into a slot opening between the bottom wall and a bottom wall tab on the end face to hold the end wall in place. However, this is relatively time-consuming and labor-intensive.

Also from the KR 10 2010 0114359 A a packaging container of the type mentioned is known, which is closed on each end face by two end walls in pairs one above the other. The end edges of each pair of end side walls adjacent to the bottom wall are connected to one another and to the bottom wall by means of a trapezoidal retaining flap provided with fold lines and diverging away from the bottom wall, which is pushed upwards into the interior above the bottom wall and is folded along the fold lines, so that after erection it protrudes above the bottom wall between the two broad side walls.

The CN 204660222 U discloses a packaging container having a triangular cross section with a bottom wall, two broad side walls converging away from the bottom wall and two pairs of superimposed end side walls which close the container on both opposite end faces. To increase stability without the need for gluing, each of the two end walls is provided on its front edge facing the bottom wall with a protruding retaining tab which has the same width as the bottom wall over most of its length and after erection between the two above the bottom wall Broad side walls protrude.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to improve a packaging container of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be erected particularly quickly and easily and can be equipped with various objects, in particular food and beverages, without the need for gluing and the transported objects can be held securely and, if desired, visibly from the outside in the packaging container with simple means and cannot fall out or fall over.

This object is achieved by the features of claims 1 and 11. This means in particular that when the packaging container is erected, the retaining tab bears against at least one point against each of the two broad side walls.

In order to hold the end wall particularly securely in the desired position without an adhesive or plug connection, it is provided according to the invention that the retaining tab projecting over the end wall has at least part of its length the same width as the bottom wall, so that it results from the convergence of the two Broad side walls are held directly above the bottom wall in an orientation parallel to the bottom wall and are also not pivotable about the third fold line.

The at least one front side wall with the generally triangular or trapezoidal outline, in conjunction with the protruding retaining tab, ensures that the packaging container can be erected quickly and easily on the one hand and does not need to be glued on the other: by connecting the front side wall to an adjacent broad side wall along a straight fold line , which is perpendicular to one of the fold lines between the bottom wall and the broad side walls, only needs to be brought into a position in the case of erecting the cardboard blank in the position in which it protrudes above the bottom wall between the two broad side walls. If the two broad side walls converge upwards at an acute angle, the retaining tab can no longer leave this position and thus also holds the front side wall in the desired position. This in turn prevents part of the contents from falling out on the end face of the packaging container provided with the end face wall. Also due to the detachable connection of the two broad side walls in the vicinity of their edge facing away from the bottom wall, it is not necessary to glue parts of the cardboard blank, which reduces the manufacturing costs.

According to the invention, only a single end wall is provided, so that one of the broad side walls and the Bottom wall of the interior of the packaging is open on the front side of the packaging container opposite the front side wall, an object carried in the packaging container being fixed between the broad side walls on or near this front side in such a way that it prevents other objects from falling out.

If the packaging container is intended for the transportation of food, such as snacks, popcorn, nachos, sweets, such as a chocolate bar or a bag of gummy bears, and drinks in cinemas or at other events, the object is expediently either a conical or truncated pyramid-shaped mug with popcorn or nachos or around a beverage mug. In order to close the packaging container on the front side without a gap by the front side wall, the width of the front side wall is preferably larger at any point along the entire height than the respective distance between the two broad side walls. As a result, the front side wall protrudes slightly along its entire height from that broad side wall with which it is not connected along the third fold line, and lies with a broad side surface from the outside against an adjacent straight boundary edge of this broad side wall. The lower end of the end wall adjacent to the bottom wall thus also has a greater width than the bottom wall. The end wall is preferably flat and is not divided by fold lines. One of two lateral boundary edges of the protruding retaining flap advantageously ends at an intersection of the first and second fold lines, which contributes both to the gap-free closing of the end face and to the secure holding of the end face wall in the desired position.

A further preferred embodiment of the invention provides for the punched-out handle openings to be used for the adhesive-free and detachable connection of the two broad side walls. For this purpose, one of the broad side walls is advantageously provided on one edge facing away from the bottom wall with a protruding locking flap which is folded over the other broad side wall and partially passed through the punched-out handle openings positioned one behind the other, in order to hold the two wide side walls together around the handle openings and at the same time a stable carrying handle to build. Where the packaging container is to be used for transporting a bottle, in particular a beverage bottle, only one of the two broad side walls is advantageously provided with a punched-out bottle-shaped opening, the cross-sectional dimensions of which are somewhat smaller than those of the bottle, so that the bottle is partially through the opening protrudes outwards, but cannot fall out through the opening. In this case, too, the boundary edge of the opening adjacent to the bottom wall is advantageously arranged at a distance from the bottom wall or from the adjacent fold line between the bottom wall and the wide side wall, so that the base of the bottle placed on the bottom wall cannot slide out through the opening. Due to the convergence of the broad side walls, the bottle is at least partially pressed against the edges of the opening from the inside and is thereby held in the desired position.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that further punch-outs are provided in at least one of the two broad side walls and that at least one of these is partially closed by a die-cut that can be broken out of the punch-out. The same effect is also achieved if the retaining tab 36 has a width corresponding to the width of the bottom wall 20 only along part of its length, so that it abuts against each of the two broad side walls 26, 28 at least in one place from the inside and does not lie swings up 90 degrees.

The width of the trapezoidal end wall part 30 is selected such that the erected end wall 32 is somewhat wider along its entire height than the clear width of the Packaging container 10 between the broad side walls 26, 28 is. The square bottom of the cup 12 standing on the bottom wall 20 has dimensions which correspond to the width of the bottom wall 20 or are slightly smaller than this, and partially projects outwards through the two openings 58, 60. As a result, the lateral boundary edges of the openings 58, 60 prevent displacement of the cup 12 in the longitudinal direction of the bottom wall 20, while the two webs between the fold lines 44 and 46 and the boundary edge 68 prevent a displacement of the cup 12 transversely to the longitudinal direction of the bottom wall 20. The opening 62 receives a part of the bottle 14 which projects outwards through the opening 62. 10. The packaging container according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that at least one of the broadside walls (26, 28) is provided with a punched-out portion (64, 66) that is partially closed by a punched blank (78, 80), which can be broken out.

A one-piece cardboard blank for a packaging container according to one of claims 1 to 10, with a narrow rectangular bottom wall panel (18), two rectangular broadside wall panels (22, 24) adjoining the bottom wall panel (18) on both sides, a first and a second folding line (44, 46), one of which is respectively arranged between the bottom wall panel (18) and each of the broadside wall panels (22), as well as an end side wall panel (30), wherein each broadside wall panel (22, 24) is provided with a punched-out handle opening (54, 56) in the vicinity of an edge facing away from the bottom wall panel (18), wherein the end side wall panel (30) has a generally triangular or trapezoidal outline, adjoins one (22) of the two broadside wall panels (22, 24) along a folding line (48) perpendicular to the first folding line (44), and is provided with a projecting retaining tab (36) at an end edge (34) adjacent to the bottom wall panel (18), characterized in that the retaining tab (36) projecting beyond the end side wall panel (30) has the same width as the bottom wall panel (18) at least along part of its length and that only a single end side wall panel (30) is provided, so that the packaging container (10), after the erection of the cardboard blank (16), is closed only at one end side by an end side wall (32) formed by the end side wall panel (30) and is open at the opposite end side, wherein an object (12) transported in the packaging container (10) and projecting into opposite openings (58, 60) in the broadside walls (26, 28) at least partially closes the open end side.
