Abstract

The present invention refers to a door locking device with a household apparatus. Said device comprises a fixed locking element (4), a movable locking element (5) being movable with regard to the fixed locking element (4), and a resilient means (6) which constantly forces the locking elements (4, 5) to the locking position.

Description

  • The present invention refers to a door locking device with a household apparatus.
  • Known door locking devices with household apparatuses in principle lock the door by means of a mechanism built in the door having a locking element that engages the counter-locking element on the household apparatus. In addition, embodiments are known where said mechanism is built in the household apparatus, where the locking element engages the counter-locking element in the door. Thus, for instance, said mechanical locks with the household apparatuses have been disclosed by publication of the documents EP2369101 A1 , EP2851492 A1 , EP2636957 A1 , EP2532973 A1 . All the solutions, however, share a common problem i.e. how to disable the door locking device in case the user does not want for the door to be locked. It is proposed according to some known solutions for the user to reach into the apparatus and unscrew the locking device, forcing the user to unnecessarily use complex knowledge and tools.
  • It is the object of the present invention to create a door locking device with a household apparatus which remedies drawbacks of the known solutions.
  • According to the present invention, the object as set above is solved by features set forth in the characterising part of claim 1. Detail of the invention is disclosed in respective subclaims.
  • The invention is further described in detail by way of non-limiting embodiment, and with a reference to the accompanying drawings, where

  • A door locking device with a household apparatus according to the invention is described in the continuation on the basis of an oven, although the door locking device according to the invention can be applied to other household apparatuses only by minor routine alterations.
  • A door locking device 1 according to the invention is fixed to a ceiling of the household apparatus, in particular to a ceiling 2 of the oven, in immediate vicinity of a door 3 that closes the interior of the oven. Said device 1 is comprised of a fixed holding element 4, a movable locking element 5 and a resilient means 6 arranged in-between. Said fixed holding element 4 is formed in the present embodiment as a flat rectangular prism having a plurality of through-holes 7 to facilitate fixing to the ceiling 2 of the oven. Further, the holding element 4 is formed approximately in the central region thereof with a through hole 8 for receiving said movable locking element 5 and for cooperating therewith. The fixed locking element 4 is formed at the side facing the movable locking element 5 with a cylindrical wall 9 which surrounds said through-hole 8. Furthermore, the fixed locking element 4 is formed at the first side of the cylindrical wall 9 with a first projection 10, and is formed at the approximately diametrically opposed side of the cylindrical wall 9 with an additional projection 11. Yet further, the fixed locking element 4 is formed with an arc-shaped channel 12 which extends form the area of the additional projection 11 over the larger arc of a circle towards said first projection 10 in the range of approximately 90°.
  • Said movable locking element 5, which is formed in the present embodiment as a flat element, comprises a central section 13 with approximately centrally placed cylindrical protrusion 14 provided for the cooperation with said through-hole 8 and the cylindrical wall 9 of the fixed locking element 4. Said cylindrical protrusion 14 comprises at its free end at least one radially extending projection 15 which is intended to engage the edge of the through-hole 8 when the locking elements 4, 5 are joined, thus, preventing separation of said elements 4, 5. Furthermore, said movable locking element 5 is formed at the first side of the cylindrical protrusion 14 with a projection 16 and with an arc-shaped channel 17 which extends in the direction away from the area of said projection 16 in the vicinity of the cylindrical protrusion 14 in the range of approximately 90°. Yet further, a hook shaped section 18 is associated via an inclination 13' with the central section 13, said hook shaped section 18 being formed at the free end thereof with a grip section 19 and a hook 20 provided for a locking cooperation with a counter-locking means 21 arranged at the edge of the door 3.
  • The movable locking element 5 is provided in the region of the transition from the central section 13 and via said inclination 13' to the hook shaped section 18 with a depression 22 provided for cooperation with the first projection 10 of the fixed locking element 4. Said resilient means 6 is arranged between the fixed locking element 4 and the movable locking element 5, which forcibly holds said elements 4, 5 constantly in the locked position by means of elastic action thereto. In the present embodiment is said resilient means 6 selected as a torsional spring for example.
  • The basic position of the door locking device 1 with the household apparatus is the locking position, that is when the door 3 of the household apparatus is closed and the counter locking means 21 is engaged with the hook 20 of the movable locking element 5. Said projections 11, 16 and said arc- shaped channels 12, 17 are formed in a manner that the additional projection 11 of the fixed locking element 4, when the device 1 assembled, is constantly located in the arc-shaped channel 17 of the movable locking element 5, and that the projection 16 of the movable locking element 5 is constantly located in the arc-shaped channel 12 of the fixed locking element 4.
  • Moreover, it is provided for according to the present invention that said projections 11, 16 are configured for cooperation with said resilient means 6. With the present embodiment, the first end of the torsional spring 6 cooperates with a vertical surface of the additional projection 11 of the fixed locking element 4, whereas the opposite end of the torsional spring 6 cooperates with a vertical surface of the projection 16 of the movable locking element 5. In this manner, said torsional spring 6 is pre-stressed between the projections 11, 16 forcing the elements 4, 5 in the locked position due to elastic action thereon.
  • When the door 3 needs to be open the grip section 19 of the hook shaped section is operated causing the movable locking element 5 to rotate about the rotating axis formed by the centre line of the through-hole 9 and, respectively, the cylindrical protrusion 14. Said first rotation of the movable locking element 5 typically amounts to about 30°. As a result, the hook 20 is moved from the engagement with the counter locking means 21. Each said projection 11; 16 slides over each opposite arc-shaped channel 12; 17 resulting in a reliable guidance of the locking elements 4, 5 against each other. The door 3 of the household apparatus are now ready to be opened. Immediately upon the release of the grip section 19 the movable locking element 5 returns into its original position due to the elastic action of the resilient means 6.
  • When the door 3 locking device 1 is not intended to be used, the movable locking element 5 is rotated by operating said grip section 9 about the the rotating axis formed by the centre line of the through-hole 9 and, respectively, the cylindrical protrusion 14, the angle of the second rotation being greater than said angle of said first rotation. Said second rotation of the movable locking element 5 typically amounts to about 90°. At the same time, each said projection 11; 16 slides over each opposite arc-shaped channel 12; 17,resulting in a reliable guidance of the locking elements 4, 5 against each other. When the movable locking element 5 approaches its end position, that is when it is approximately aligned with the upper edge of the door 3, said inclination 13' engages said first projection 10 of the fixed locking element 4. Further rotation of the movable locking element 5 causes said inclination 13' to slides over said first projection 10, which at that moment engages said depression 22 and snap-in locks therein. Thus, the movable locking element 5 is locked in the position which is generally hidden to the user. In order to return the movable locking element 5 in its basic position, the grip section 19 is operated simultaneously in the direction approximately perpendicular to the plane of said ceiling 2 of the household apparatus and in the rotational direction of the element 5. As a result, said first projection 10 disengages said depression 22, the grip section 19 can be released, and the resilient means 6 returns the movable locking element 5 in its start, locking position.
