Description

    The Related Art
  • The invention relates to a concealment cover.
  • The invention particularly relates to a concealment cover that provides safe concealment by eliminating radar effects Concealments of the known art are disclosed in WO 2007/069803 A1 and US 5,281,460 A1 .
  • Background of the Invention
  • Nowadays, various military materials (weapons, tanks, clothes, vehicles, etc.) used in the defence industry require concealment for having the ability of movement without being noticed by enemy forces during battle.
  • With the developing technology, it has become quite easy to determine the positions of personnel or their equipment with eyes or with detection devices called radars.
  • Especially, it is not an acceptable situation for the personnel or their equipment to be detected during battle.
  • Therefore, military personnel uses concealment textile called camouflage in order to conceal themselves and their materials from being seen by the eye. However, this material is only used for the purpose of concealment from detection by the eye, against enemy.
  • Especially, these textile materials cannot provide protection/concealment against the technique used by radars.
  • Radars are devices that can detect location of subjects by determining the reflection of the electromagnetic waves emitted from these subjects.
  • In the literature, in PCT application No. WO 2000/017599 , it is disclosed that: "The invention regards a material having a three-dimensional surface built up by bulgings arranged regularly or irregularly mutually adjacently, and which have approximately conical form. It is thus accomplished that the brightness of the material is little dependent on the view angle, in contrast to what is the case with plane surfaces, even if painted with matte camouflage paint." In said application, a three-dimensional surface is formed on the fabric to provide visual camouflage.
  • As a result of the reasons given above, need has occurred for a structure that would allow hiding of military personnel and equipment against radar.
  • Description of the Invention
  • From the known status of the art, the purpose of the invention is to provide a concealment network according to claim 1 which eliminates the prior art drawbacks. Another purpose of the invention is to provide a structure that protects military personnel and equipment from radar effects and ensures concealment.
  • Another purpose of the invention is to provide a structure that provides movement capability to military personnel and vehicles without being affected from visual and radar detection. Another purpose of the invention is to provide a lighter structure to allow easier movement of the military personnel and vehicles.
  • Another purpose of the invention is to provide a robust structure that will prevent tearing in difficult terrain conditions.
  • Another purpose of the invention is to provide a structure that can be in different colours according to the needs.
  • Description of the Figures
  • Figure 1 is a view of the concealment cover according to the invention.

      • 1.2 Y-type texture
      • 1.3 Z-type texture
      • 1.4 Conductor-containing fiber
    Detailed Description of the Invention
  • In this detailed description, the novelty according to the invention is only disclosed for better understanding of the subject without forming any limiting effect.
  • The invention relates to a concealment cover (1) in which more than two textures (1.1, 1.2, 1.3) of different types with the ability to absorb and emit radar waves are turned into a perforated structure.
  • The invention is a concealment cover (1) ensuring safe concealment due to its ability of absorbing and reflecting radar waves, and it is characterized by the features of claim 1.
  • Said concealment cover (1) is formed by knitting the conductor-containing fiber (1.4) material into a fabric. While said conductor-containing fiber (1.4) can be made of poly-derivative conductor or carbon-derivative compound material, it can also be produced in the form of metal fiber and/or derivatives thereof.
  • By means of using said knitted conductor-containing fibers (1.4), said X-type texture (1.1), Y-type texture (1.2), and Z-type texture (1.3) are formed. Said X-type texture (1.1), Y-type texture (1.2), and Z-type texture (1.3) are arranged to be distributed on fabric. The arrangement on this structure allows said concealment cover (1) to absorb and/or emit radar waves.
  • Said X-type texture (1.1), Y-type texture (1.2), and Z-type texture (1.3) are positioned in a plurality of numbers so as to ensure providing said concealment cover (1) in various sizes and shapes.
  • Said X-type texture (1.1), Y-type texture (1.2), and Z-type texture (1.3) has a perforated structure. The arrangement of said perforated structure and said textures (1.1, 1.2, 1.3) provide medium and far infrared protection of the concealment network (1).
  • Said X-type texture (1.1), Y-type texture (1.2), and Z-type texture (1.3) are formed by knitting with more than one type of said conductor fibers (1.4). While said X-type texture (1.1), Y-type texture (1.2), and Z-type texture (1.3) conductor-containing fibers (1.4) can be formed by knitting more than one type thereof on top of each other, it is also possible to knit a single conductor-containing fiber (1.4) with a different type of mixture.
  • Said arrangement structure also prevents detection by devices providing night vision. In order to enhance prevention from night vision detection, near infrared absorbing compounds are used in said conductor-containing fiber (1.4). At the same time, said concealment cover (1) can be coated with a near infrared absorbing dye.
  • In a preferred embodiment of said concealment network (1) for providing visual concealment, printing is made by a camouflage dye. In this way, said concealment cover (1) would have both radar absorbing and reflecting characteristic, provide near, medium, and far infrared protection, and ensure visual concealment.
  • Said concealment network (1) can be coated with radar absorber so as to enhance its protection against radar.
