In the figures, the same references designate identical or analogous elements.

The figure 1 shows in perspective a first embodiment of a modular structure 1 comprising several modules 2 linked in pairs by connectors 30 to form a composition.

In the first embodiment, each module 2 comprises on a rear face 4, a base element 5 fixed by any suitable means and in particular by screwing to a vertical surface, for example a wall, a partition or a door, and on a front face 3 opposite to the rear face 4, a front element 20 removably mounted on the base element 5.

The base element 5 of each module 2 comprises a base body 6 identical for all of the base elements 5 of the modules 2 of the modular structure 1. The base body 6 is made of any material suitable for obtaining the shapes required and can in particular be produced by molding a plastic or composite material.

In the embodiment shown in the figures 1 to 4 , the base body 6 is constituted by a square plate having on a rear face 8 forming the rear face 4 of the module 2, a front face 7 opposite to the rear face 8 and a peripheral edge 9 between the front 7 and rear 8 sides The peripheral edge 9 comprises two straight sides spaced from each other in a first direction D1 and two straight sides spaced from each other in a second direction D2.

On its rear face 8, the base body 6 has a flat rear surface 10 adapted to be in contact with the vertical surface.

Le logement intérieur 12 débouche vers l'extérieur par des ouvertures latérales 13 ménagées dans le bord périphérique 9.On its front face 7, the base body 6 has a front surface 11 from which the peripheral edge 9 extends perpendicularly so as to delimit an interior housing 12. The interior housing 12 opens outwards through lateral openings 13 formed in the peripheral edge 9.

In particular, the peripheral edge 9 is thinned in the middle of each of the straight sides to form one of the lateral openings 13. At each corner of the base body 6, two portions of the peripheral edge 9 extending on two adjacent straight sides are extended towards the inside of the base body 6 by an internal wall 14 comprising two right-angled portions to form a projection 15 having a square outline. In this way, the interior housing 12 has a cross shape centered on the base body 6 with four lateral openings 13 arranged in the middle of each of the straight sides of the base body 6. The interior housing 12 thus has a median transverse plane of symmetry P2, perpendicular to the first direction D1 and a median longitudinal plane of symmetry P1 perpendicular to the second direction D2. The median planes of symmetry P1, P2 allow the base body 6 to be left invariant by a 90 ° rotation and to use the base body 6 without worrying about its orientation.

In the housing 12, in the vicinity of each of the lateral openings 13, the base body 6 comprises positioning and holding elements for one of the connectors 30. In the embodiment shown, for each lateral opening 13, the elements positioning and holding means comprise two stops 17 extending from the peripheral edge 9, parallel to one another on the front surface 11 on either side of one of the median planes of symmetry P1, P2. They further comprise two through holes 18 extending parallel to each other respectively in the extension of the stops 17. A cylindrical pin 19 extending from the front surface 11 in one of the median planes of symmetry P1, P2 is also provided in the vicinity of the center of the housing 12.

The base body 6 comprises one or more fixing members 16, such as one or more through holes, making it possible to fix it to the vertical surface.

The front element 20 also has opposite front 21 and rear 22 faces between which extends a peripheral skirt 23. The peripheral skirt 23 defines a contour identical to that of the base body 6 of the base element 5, with here be a square outline, so that the facade element 20 can completely cover the front face 7 of the base body 6 with the peripheral skirt 23 of the facade element 20 covering the peripheral edge 9 of the base body 6 The front face 21 of the front element 20 then forms the front face 3 of the module 2.

On its rear face 22, the front element 20 has a rear surface 24 from which the peripheral skirt 23 extends perpendicularly. The peripheral skirt 23 is interrupted in the middle of each of the straight sides of the front element 20 to form a recess 25 adapted to be placed in correspondence with one of the lateral openings 13.

The front elements 20 have functionalities, some of which may be identical and others different from one module 2 to another. The facade element 20 is then made of any material suitable for the functionality it fulfills. Depending on the functionality, the facade element 20 can be made of plastic or composite material, metal, wood or the like. On the figure 1 , the modular structure 1 has, for example, two cover modules 2 having a cover functionality, and six support modules 2 having a support functionality, which cover and cover modules 2 will be described later in relation to the figure 5 .

As indicated above, for each module 2, one of the front elements 20 is removably mounted on one of the base elements 5 by fitting of one or more male members provided on the front element 20 in one or more female members 15a provided on the base element 5, for example in the projections 15. The front element 20 completely covers the front face 7 of the base element 5 thus closing the interior housing 12 of the base body 6, and the recesses 25 of the front element 20 are placed in correspondence with the lateral openings 13 of the base body 6 in order to be able to access the interior housing 12 from the outside.

As a variant, as will appear from the following description, the numbers and the arrangements of the basic elements 5 and of the facade 20 as well as the functionalities of the facade elements 20 could be different from those described previously.

In particular, at least one of the modules could comprise a multiple facade element 20 whose dimensions are whole multiples of the dimensions of the basic element 5 according to the first D1 and second D2 directions. The multiple facade element 20 can then be removably mounted on several basic elements 5 suitably connected to each other by connectors 30 so that the multiple facade element 20 can cover the front faces of the basic elements 5. The male members for retaining the multiple facade element 20 on the base elements 5 can then be removably mounted on the rear face 22 of the multiple facade element 20 in order to be able to modulate their arrangement. The male organs can in particular be arranged to be placed in correspondence with a part of the set of female organs 15a of the basic elements 5. The user then has the possibility of transforming any device of his choice into a multiple facade element 20 by adding to it male organs arranged to be able to cooperate with the female organs 15a of the basic elements 5. In particular, it can transform into an element of multiple facade an ornamental device, such as a table, a frame, a plate of stone, wood or leather or other covering, or a functional device, such as an LCD screen or other.

In another variant, the front element 20 could have smaller dimensions so as to cover only part of the front face 7 of the base element 5, the front face 3 of the module 2 then comprising the front face 21 of the front element 20 and part of the front face 7 of the base element 5.

According to yet another variant, the base 5 and front 20 elements could have any other polygonal, elliptical circular or other outline with any other arrangement of at least two lateral openings 13 adapted to put the interior housing 12 into communication with the outside.

According to a new variant, the internal housing 12 and the lateral openings 13 could be produced in any other suitable way to be located between the base element 5 and the facade element 20: for example, in a first part on the basic element 5 and a second part on the facade element 20, or only on the facade element 20.

Furthermore, to retain the facade element 20 on the base element 5, the arrangement of the male and female members could be different and, in particular, reversed. In addition, any other restraint system that a fitting could be provided, including a snap.

In these variants, the outline of the base body 6 and the arrangement of the lateral openings 13 are nevertheless preferably chosen so that the base body 6 has one or more transverse planes (that is to say perpendicular to the directions in which the base body 6 extends) medians of symmetry leaving it invariant by rotation about a central axis with respect to which the base body 6 extends transversely.

On the figures 1 to 4 , each connector 30 comprises a connector body 31 identical for all of the connectors 30 of the modular structure 1. The connector body 31 is made of any material suitable for obtaining the required shapes and can in particular be produced by molding a plastic or composite material.

The connector body 31 has two fitting parts 31a, 31b on either side of a central part 31c. The central part 31c is offset with respect to the two fitting parts 31a, 31b in a direction normal to the front 32 and rear faces 33 so as to present on the rear face 33, two opposite transverse abutment surfaces 31d. The connector body 31 has a median transverse plane of symmetry P3, perpendicular to the direction of extension E and a median longitudinal plane of symmetry P4 extends in the direction of extension E. The fitting parts 31a, 31b of the connector body 31 are adapted to be received respectively in the interior housings 12 of the two adjacent modules 2 by extending through the respective lateral openings 13 of the two adjacent modules 2. In the same way as the base body 6, taking into account the symmetry along the median transverse plane of symmetry P3, the connector body 31 can be placed in the housing 12 of the base body 6 in one direction or the other. . On two opposite small sides 33a, the connector body 31 respectively has two ears 35 aligned with the along a central axis A in the direction of extension E. The ears 35 are inclined relative to a plane containing the rear face 33 of the connector body 31 and are crossed by a slot 37 in the vicinity of an opposite free end 38 to the rest of the connector body 31. The base body 31 comprises positioning and holding elements complementary to the positioning and holding elements of the base body 6.

In the embodiment shown, the complementary positioning and holding elements comprise two through openings 40 extending one parallel with respect to the central part 31c, on either side of the median longitudinal plane of symmetry P4. The through openings 40 are adapted to respectively receive the stops 17 of the base body 6.

The complementary positioning and retaining elements further comprise two flexible tabs 41 extending parallel to one another from the central part 31c, on either side of the median longitudinal plane of symmetry P4. Each flexible tab 41 has a free end 42 actuatable by the user and provided with a horizontal wing 43. The flexible tabs 41 are adapted to cooperate with the through holes 18 of the base body 6 so that the wings 43 are in contact with the rear surface 8 of the base body 6 when the free ends 42 are disposed in the through holes 18 .

Le manchon cylindrique 44 est adapté pour recevoir le pion cylindrique 19 du corps de base 6.The complementary positioning and holding elements finally comprise a cylindrical sleeve 44 projecting from a front face of each of the ears 35. The cylindrical sleeve 44 is adapted to receive the cylindrical pin 19 of the base body 6.

De la même manière, l'autre partie d'emmanchement 31b du corps de connecteur 31 est introduite dans le logement intérieur 12 d'un module 2 adjacent au travers de l'une des ouvertures latérales 13.One of the fitting parts 31a of the connector body 31 can be introduced into the interior housing 12 of a module 2 through one of the side openings 13 in a direction of insertion normal to the front surface 11 of the base element 5. In particular, the flexible tabs 41 of the connector 30 are brought closer to one another in order to pass the wings 43 through the through holes 18 of the base body 6. In doing so, the stops 17 and the cylindrical pin 19 of the base body respectively penetrate into the through openings 40 and the cylindrical sleeve 44 of the connector 30. The dimensions of each fitting part 31a, 31b of the connector body 31 can then be chosen to allow fitting of large sides 33b of the connector body 31 on the internal walls 14 of the projections 15 of the base body 6. One of the transverse abutment surfaces 31d of the central part 31c is moreover in abutment on the perimeter edge heric 9 of the basic body 6. In the same way, the other fitting part 31b of the connector body 31 is introduced into the interior housing 12 of a module 2 adjacent through one of the side openings 13.

As a variant, each fitting part 31a, 31b of the container body 31 can be introduced and retained in the internal housing 12 in any other suitable manner by adapting the arrangement and the production of the positioning and holding elements accordingly.

The modular system 1 also comprises closure members 45 in the form of caps adapted to be inserted into the lateral openings 13 of the base elements 5 which are not used for connection with another base element 5. The caps 45 can thus closing the recesses 25 of the front elements 20 after they have been mounted on the base elements 5 and ensuring a satisfactory finish of the module 2.

The figures 2 to 4 represent the front faces 32 of a so-called transmission connector 30 adapted to transmit an electrical flow and of a base element 5 of a so-called receiving module 2 adapted to receive and exploit the electrical flow transmitted by the transmission connector 30 .

The transmission connector 30 comprises a transmission member 50 mounted on the connector body 31. In particular, the transmission member 50 comprises a first connection element in the form of two electrical contacts 51 of electrically conductive material extending respectively in the slots 37 of the ears 35 of the connector body 31 to rest on the front faces of the ears 35 in the vicinity of the free ends 38. The electrical contacts 51 are connected to each other by any suitable means such as a rod of electrically conductive material mounted in the connector body 31, for example in a groove formed on the rear face 33 of the connector body 31, a cable, a metal insert, a printed circuit or the like.

The base element 5 of the receiving module 2 comprises an intermediate connection element in the form of a square printed circuit 55 traversed by one or more conductive tracks and provided with notches 56 on each of its straight sides.

On the figures 3 and 4 , the printed circuit 55 is mounted in the center of the interior housing 12 parallel to the front surface 11 of the base body 6 on the transmission connector 30 received in the interior housing 12. The sleeve 44 of one of the ears 35 of the connector 30 transmission is received in one of the notches 56 of the printed circuit 55 and the corresponding electrical contact 51 comes into contact with one of the tracks on a lower surface of the printed circuit 55. Other transmission connectors 30 can be mounted in the other lateral openings 13 of the base element 5 with their electrical contacts 51 in contact with tracks of the printed circuit 55 to ensure flow communication between the transmission connectors 30.

The front element 20 of the reception module 2 then comprises a second connection element produced and arranged in any suitable manner to be in flow communication with tracks of the printed circuit 55 of the base element 5.

The transmission connector 30 can be connected to the flow source directly or via one or more transmission connectors 30 and / or one or more basic elements 5.

Alternatively, the transmission connector 30 and the front element 20 could be adapted so that the flow can flow directly from one transmission connector 30 to another and directly from one transmission connector 30 to the front panel 20 of reception module 2. The base element 5 of the reception module 2 would then be devoid of any connection element suitable for transmitting the stream.

Un ou plusieurs organes de transmission correspondants peuvent alors être montés sur le corps de connecteur 31 et, le cas échéant, sur le corps de base 6.According to another variant, the connector 30 for transmission and the module 2 for reception could be adapted to any type of flow and in particular, in a complementary or alternative to the electric flow, to an electromagnetic flow, a fluid flow or a flow of information. One or more corresponding transmission members can then be mounted on the connector body 31 and, if necessary, on the base body 6.

The facade elements 20 can thus be chosen from a range of facade elements illustrated in a non-exhaustive manner on the figure 5 . Each facade element 20 of the range of facade elements has a different functionality from that of the other facade elements 20 of the range.

The facade elements 20 can have the support functionality. The front element 20 of each support module 2 comprises, on its front face 21, a front surface 26 parallel to the rear surface 24 and one or more a support surface 27 projecting from the front surface 26. In particular, the facade element can be:
  • a simple shelf front element 20d having the flat support surface 27 perpendicular to the front surface 26 along a right side of the front element 20d,

  • a soliflore facade element 20i having the cylindrical support surface 27 along an axis parallel to the front surface 26.

Other functionalities can be obtained with the reception modules 2 supplied by a stream.

The reception modules 2 can in particular present a transmission functionality. The front element 20 of the receiving module 2 can then comprise, on the front face 21, at least one of a charging member and a member for emitting light or sound from a flux chosen from an electrical flux and an electromagnetic flux transmitted by the connector 30 for transmission. In particular, the facade element can be:

  • a 20k enclosure front element adapted to emit a sound,
  • a charger front element 201 adapted to emit charging energy, in particular by induction, from a battery of an electrical device such as a mobile telephone or an audio headset.

The reception modules 2 can also have a distribution functionality. The front element 20 of the receiving module 2 can then comprise, on the front face, a device for distributing a fluid from a flow of fluid transmitted by the connector 30 for transmission. The facade element can for example be:
  • a 20m fragrance diffuser facade element.

  • a 20p weather station façade element,
  • a 20q thermostat front element,
  • a radio alarm clock element 20r.

Other functionalities than those described previously and represented on the figure 5 may be provided and in particular a camera module.

In connection with figures 1 , 6 and 7 , a method for producing a modular structure 1 is described.

On the figure 1 , eight modules 2 are arranged in pairs adjacent to each other with respective side openings 13.

In particular, a user realizes a composition of his choice with the basic elements 5, placing them two by two in an adjacent manner with respective side openings 13 facing each other. The user connects the basic elements 5 in pairs by mounting one of the connectors 30 in the side openings 13 opposite two adjacent basic elements 5, each of the fitting parts 31a, 31b of the connector body 31 s extending in the respective interior housings 12 of the two adjacent base elements 5 and being held in the housings 12 as explained above.

Once the composition thus produced, the user can position it at a desired location on the vertical surface, and fix it.

For example, on the figure 1 , the user chooses a simple facade element 20a, a mirror facade element 20b, two simple shelf facade elements 20d, a corner shelf facade element 20e, a soliflore facade element 20i, a carrier facade element 20g coat and a 20h storage compartment front element.

Thereafter, the user can decide to modify the composition.

To do this, it can remove and then reassemble the facade elements 20 which it has by inverting them to move the functionalities or replace one or more facade elements 20 with new facade elements 20.

On the figure 6 , the user changes the composition of the figure 1 adding two modules 2 to bring the total number to ten, and aligning modules 2 in two rows. In particular, two new corner shelf facade elements 20e are added and the simple shelf facade elements 20d of the composition of the figure 1 are replaced by a new corner shelf facade element 20e and a simple facade element 20a. The front corner shelf elements 20e are oriented to form an open box on the front of the composition.

On the figure 7 , the user changes the composition of the figure 6 adding six modules 2 to bring the total number to sixteen, and aligning modules 2 in four rows. In particular, six new simple facade elements 20a are added and the corner shelf facade elements 20e are replaced by four simple shelf facade elements 20d.

The figure 8 shows in perspective a second embodiment of a modular structure including several modules 2 linked in pairs by connectors to form a composition.

The modular structure 1 'according to the second embodiment differs mainly from the modular structure 1 according to the first embodiment in that the basic element 5' of each module 2 comprises, on a lateral face between the front faces 7 and rear 8, a bearing surface adapted to be in contact with a horizontal surface, such as a floor or a flat surface of a piece of furniture.

Each module 2 then comprises a base element 5 ′ of which a thickness between the front 7 and rear 8 faces is greater than that of the base element 5 described previously so as to allow the base element 5 'to be self-supporting. Facade elements 20 can then be removably mounted on each of the front 7 and rear 8 faces of the base element 5 '. The basic elements 5 ′ can also be connected two by two by connectors 30 to form a partition. The modules 2 and the connectors 30 are adapted to present all the functionalities described above in relation to the first embodiment of the modular structure 1, including the functionalities involving the transmission of an electric or other flow.

The description of the basic elements 5 ′, of the front elements 20 and of the connectors 30 made previously in relation to the first embodiment of the modular structure 1 can be directly transposed to this second embodiment of the modular structure 1 ′. We will therefore refer to the description which has already been given for more details.
