- Übertragung von Software bzw. Konfigurationsdaten an Fahrzeuge (z.B. zur Anpassung an Betriebssituationen oder zur Fehlerkorrektur),
- Übertragung von Statusinformationen des ETCS Systems oder anderer Fahrzeugkomponenten (Ort, Geschwindigkeit, Level etc.) an streckenseitige Dispatcher und
- Übertragung von Diagnosedaten des ETCS Systems oder anderer Fahrzeugkomponenten an streckenseitige Wartungseinrichtungen.

location information of the ETCS rail vehicle is taken into account by the control logic. - ETCS rail vehicle having an ETCS mobile radio antenna arrangement in an on-board unit (1) with at least one first ETCS mobile radio antenna (8) with an attached first ETCS mobile radio device (4) and a further ETCS mobile radio antenna (8) which by means of an ETCS antenna switch (7) can be connected via mobile radio either to a further ETCS mobile radio device (5) or to a further mobile radio device (12) of another rail service not belonging to ETCS which has a communication requirement, wherein by means of a control logic the switch position of the ETCS antenna switch (7) can be determined from ETCS status information of the on-board unit (1) of the ETCS rail vehicle, and an actuation of the ETCS antenna switch (7) is carried out such that as soon as ETCS has a communication requirement for the switchable further ETCS mobile radio antenna (8) the latter is provided for ETCS.
