Abstract

Figure imgaf001
A flame monitoring arrangement for a flame (12) burning in the combustion chamber of a fuel-fired heater (1 ') comprises a photoelectric sensor (20) located outside the combustion chamber at a distance therefrom, onto which is emitted from the burning flame (12); light passing through a light passage opening (33) provided in a wall (31) of the combustion chamber and emitting an electrical control signal enabling the presence or absence of a flame to be detected. To improve the visibility of the flame and to reduce the risk of contamination is provided that the distance between the photoelectric sensor (20) and the light passage opening by a hollow body (36) is bridged, the dust-protected connection between the photoelectric sensor (20) and the light passage opening (33) in the wall (31) of the combustion chamber forms such that through its interior, the light emerging from the light passage opening (33) can reach the photoelectric sensor (20).
