Abstract

The invention relates to a device for applying a cosmetic product, characterized in that it comprises: a) a structure comprises a contact face and a handling face (200); b) on the contact face of the structure, a pair of notched rollers (101, 102) that are free to rotate about concurrent axes; c) elastic suspension means for said notched rollers with respect to the structure; d) on the handling face (200) of the structure, on the opposite side from the contact face, a gripping form in the form of a spherical cap enveloping the surface of the structure.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCT APPLICATION

COSMETIC

The invention relates to a device and a method for applying a cosmetic product. The invention belongs to the field of cosmetic care devices, well-being and beauty, acting superficially on the epidermis, without intrusion, to provide a so-called draining effect, in order to firm and soften the skin and improve its appearance.

The invention aims at enabling a user, without particular knowledge, to implement during the application of a cosmetic product a superficial mechanical action on the skin similar to a cosmetic massage commonly referred to as "palpating". "rolling" or "pinching-rolling", more particularly, but not exclusively, on the lower parts of the body, such as the calves, thighs, buttocks, hips and belly, but also the arms.

The technique of "palpate-rolling" is generally practiced by a professional and requires, to be effective, regular sessions and a cosmetic care professional mastering the act of pinching the skin and spreading the fold formed with speed, the right pressure and direction. To further improve the effectiveness of the massage, the skin is advantageously prepared by the application of creams or oils adapted prior to said massage. The constraint of regularly visiting such a professional to have the massage done, encourages people to practice this type of massage themselves, for economic reasons and to adapt to their lifestyle. However, the control of the gesture is delicate, especially considering that the person is then oriented relative to the part of his body in the opposite direction to that of the professional: given the position of the thumbs, apply the appropriate pressure and manually spread the fold of skin, is more difficult by pulling than by pushing, certain parts of the body like the buttocks or the back of the thighs can not, moreover, not be reached under good conditions in a car situation -massage.

The document EP 1 472 953 describes a device making it possible, by means of rollers, to subject the skin to a solicitation close to "palpate-rolling" in rolling said rollers on the part to be massaged. However, the ergonomics of this device is poorly suited for a massage in the appropriate direction, in this case from the bottom up. Moreover, if this device allows the application of a cream or a massage oil, they must be applied before the passage of the rollers. As a result, the use of such a device is difficult in the circumstances where it would be most useful, especially in the shower.

US 2005/020948 discloses a device for applying to the skin a mechanical effect, by means of notched rollers secant axes. Like the preceding device, this device does not make it possible to apply the cosmetic product to the treated region at the same time as the rollers act on this region, the product must be applied prior to the mechanical action of the rollers, so that the cooperation the action of the cosmetic product with the mechanical action of the rollers is not optimal.

These devices of the prior art, also have the disadvantage of acting only on a reduced instantaneous surface, by the very fact of their design and their mode of gripping.

Without pretending to substitute for a massage performed by a professional, the invention aims, in its embodiments, to solve the disadvantages of the prior art by allowing to easily exert on the skin a mechanical effect of pinching and stretching at the same time as the application of a cosmetic product and for this purpose concerns a device for the application of a cosmetic product comprising:

at. a structure comprising a contact face and an operating face, the contact face comprising a base of substantially elliptical contour with, on its periphery, a skirt made of a flexible material adapted to slide on the skin; b. on the contact face of the structure, inside the elliptical contour of the base, a pair of notched rollers free to rotate about intersecting axes;

vs. elastic suspension means of said notched rollers with respect to the structure;

d. on the maneuver face of the structure, opposite to the contact face, a form of grip in the form of a semi-ellipsoidal cap, covering the entire contour of the base whose dimensions are adapted to a grip in the hand;

e. on the contact face, a dispensing orifice of a cosmetic product contained in a reservoir in hydraulic communication with said orifice, which orifice is substantially aligned with the point of intersection of the axes of rotation of the rollers in the direction of use of the device.

Thus, the grip cap allows good holding in hand. The rollers being placed on the face opposite to the gripping shape it is easy to apply both the necessary pressure and to achieve the movement of the device while maintaining this pressure, whatever part of the body that is the subject of the application, especially the lower parts and the back of the body. The suspensions of the rollers make it possible to control the pressure exerted, and the secant rotation axes of said rollers ensure the effect of pinching and propagation of the skin fold during the subsequent displacement of the device which is the subject of the invention, whereas the positioning of the product dispensing orifice, dispenses the product exactly where it is needed, upstream of the action of the rollers, simultaneously with the mechanical action. The skirt protects the product thus applied from premature rinsing, especially when the device is used in the shower, and helps control the pressure applied.

The invention is advantageously implemented according to the embodiments and variants described below, which are to be considered individually or in any technically operative combination.

According to one embodiment of the device according to the invention, the dispensing orifice is closed by a shutter, and it comprises means for opening said shutter when a pressure is applied on the contact face. Thus, the shutter prevents the flow of the cosmetic product through the dispensing orifices when the device is not used:

Advantageously, the opening means of the shutter are controlled by the displacement of the suspension means of the rollers. Thus, only the application of the massage pressure makes it possible to deliver the cosmetic product. Advantageously, the device which is the subject of the invention comprises: f. a pump for expelling the product contained in the reservoir through the dispensing orifice;

Thus the user easily controls the distribution of cosmetic product while performing the massage.

Advantageously, the pump and the button are constituted by a flexible membrane, closing the reservoir on the operating face, so that pressure on said membrane changes the volume of the reservoir. Thus, the pump is entirely mechanical, without moving parts and without the need for a source of energy.

According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the device which is the subject of the invention comprises all or part of:

a sensor for evaluating the pressure applied to the rollers; a sensor for evaluating the speed of movement of the device and the direction of rotation of the rollers;

a sensor for measuring the temperature of the skin;

According to one embodiment, the device which is the subject of the invention comprises an orifice comprising a specific interface for filling the reservoir with a cosmetic product contained in a receptacle which comprises a connection interface capable of cooperating with said specific interface. Thus, only the cosmetic products adapted to the implementation of the device that is the subject of the invention can be used to fill the reservoir.

According to another embodiment of the device which is the subject of the invention, the cosmetic product reservoir is removable and interchangeable. Thus, the user easily changes the nature of the applied product, it being proposed in the form of capsules of the form of said reservoir.

Advantageously, the device which is the subject of the invention comprises:

I. means for detecting, by reading an identification code, the nature of the product contained in the tank.

The various sensors make it possible, by their measurements, to qualify the conditions of application of the product.

For this purpose, the device which is the subject of the invention advantageously comprises: m. an electronic module comprising:

mid. memory means;

mii. a port of entry and an exit port;

miii. a firmware for acquiring and analyzing information from any one of the sensors.

Thus, said electronic module makes it possible, by means of its microprogram, to define the conditions of application of the cosmetic product, as a function of a parameter or a combination of parameters measured by means of the sensors.

Advantageously, the device which is the subject of the invention comprises:

not. a sensory information means controlled by the electronic module for delivering information based on the analysis of the signals from the sensors.

According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the electronic module of the device which is the subject of the invention comprises:

mw. radio transceiver means and means for establishing a wireless personal area network with a connected object.

Thus, the possibilities of analyzing the application parameters of the product are increased by the capabilities of the connected object.

The invention also relates to a method for applying a cosmetic product implementing a device comprising an electronic module and a sensory information means, comprising the steps of:

i. storing in the memory means of the electronic module a permissible range of values for a parameter measured from the information transmitted by a sensor;

ii. evaluate said parameter during the application of the product;

iii. transmit information to the user by the sensory means if the measured parameter is within the allowable range or if the measured parameter is outside the allowable range. Thus, the device object of the invention interacts with its user to guide him in his gesture.

Advantageously, the method which is the subject of the invention implements a device according to the invention and a connected object, and comprises the steps of: iv. pair the connected object with the electronic module v. transmit to the connected object the parameter values measured during the application of the product.

Thus the connected object keeps in memory the parameters qualifying the conditions of application of the product and opens the possibility of further analysis thereof.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the method which is the subject of the invention comprises, before step v), a step consisting of:

vi. save the values of the measured parameter in the memory means of the electronic module.

Thus the presence of the connected object near the device object of the invention is not necessary during the application of the product to take advantage of the more advanced analysis capabilities of the connected object.

Advantageously, the connected object has an ability to connect to the internet and the method which is the subject of the invention comprises the steps of:

vii. downloading from a server, via the internet, an update of the firmware of the electronic module;

viii. transfer the firmware update to the electronic module via the wireless personal area network.

Thus the treatment applied to the application data of the product is scalable.

The invention is explained below according to its preferred embodiments, in no way limiting, and with reference to FIGS. 1 to 10, in which:

The device according to the invention makes it possible to apply to the skin a cosmetic product specifically adapted to an application implementing a simultaneous mechanical action on the part of the object body of this application.

Figure 1, according to an exemplary embodiment, the device of the invention is built on a base (100) of elliptical contour. According to this embodiment, said base and substantially planar and made of a rigid plastic material, obtained, for example, by injection molding. It constitutes the contact face of the device which is the subject of the invention, which contact face is turned towards the skin during the use of the device which is the subject of the invention. According to other exemplary embodiments, the shape of the base is curved according to a single or double curvature, or its contour follows a more angular shape, for example octagonal or a circular shape, without these examples being limiting. The device which is the subject of the invention comprises two rollers (101, 102) rotatably mounted along axes (1 1 1, 1 12) intersecting. According to this embodiment, each roller is rotatably mounted in a cage (121, 122) which cage is elastically connected to the base by arms (131, 132) of suspension. The contact face of the device according to the invention comprises one or more orifices (140) for dispensing a cosmetic product. According to this exemplary embodiment, the contact face comprises also a filling port (150), for filling a cosmetic product reservoir in communication with said dispensing orifices (140). According to an exemplary embodiment, said filling orifice (150) has a specific mechanical interface (not shown) to enable it to be filled only by means of containers comprising the appropriate complementary mechanical interface, and thus to limit the nature of the products likely to to be introduced into said tank. By way of non-limiting example, said reservoir comprises a diaphragm or a valve that only a cannula of taper or diameter adapted is able to open.

The dispensing orifices (140) of the cosmetic product are placed in such a way that, according to the recommended direction (190) of use of the device that is the subject of the invention, the cosmetic product is delivered to the skin just before the rolls pass ( 101, 102) on the application area. Thus, the product begins to act on the skin for some time before the rollers come into contact with the treated area, a time depending on the speed of movement of the device object of the invention. The position of said orifices (140) is, according to this embodiment, substantially aligned with the point of intersection of the axes (1 11, 1 12) of rotation of the rollers. Thus, the cosmetic product is delivered exactly on the area subjected to the mechanical effect of the rollers. Said dispensing orifices (140) being placed on the contact face, the dispensed product is protected from leaching when the device is used in the shower. This position upstream of the orifices of distribution of the product, combined with the rotation of the rollers along secant axes, the intersection of which points in the direction of movement of the device, makes it possible to ensure a substantially uniform distribution of product, transported by the rollers during their rotation over the entire width of the part subjected to the mechanical action thereof, although the device of the invention acts on a much larger surface, of the order of the drop of a hand, than the devices of the prior art.

According to this embodiment the shape of the rollers (101, 102) comprises a plurality of polygonal discs with rounded corners, juxtaposed along the axis of rotation (11 1, 1 12) of the roll, and angularly offset about this axis one by one. compared to others. Each angle of said polygonal discs is a notch projecting from the circle inscribed in the polygonal profile. The notched form of the rollers combined with their axes of rotation (11 1, 1 12) secants, allows to obtain, when movement of the device applied to the skin, a kneading effect, the skin in front of the rollers, in the direction (190) of advancement recommended, being compressed, while the skin behind the rollers is stretched. Thus, the displacement of the device according to the invention on the skin, driving the rollers in rotation, produces an effect similar to a "palpate-rolling" massage. The rollers are made of a material having a certain flexibility such as an elastomer, for example silicone.

According to alternative embodiments, the distribution of the cosmetic product through the dispensing orifices (140) is carried out by gravity or by pumping means.

6, in one case as in the other, according to an alternative embodiment, the dispensing orifices of the cosmetic product are provided with shutters to prevent the flow of the product through said orifices when the device object of the invention is not applied to the skin. Thus, according to an exemplary embodiment, said shutters consist of flexible teats (640) made of an elastomer, crimped into the dispensing orifices. 6A, each nipple (640) comprises one or more lateral slots (641), the edges of said slots being contiguous when the nipple (640) is not stressed, that is to say when the device object of the invention is not applied to the skin. The viscosity of the cosmetic product is generally sufficient so that it can not flow through said slot (641) when its edges are contiguous. According to another exemplary embodiment (not shown), the shutters of the dispensing orifices are valves, the opening of which is controlled by the displacement, under the effect of the application pressure, of the suspension arms of the rollers. This last embodiment of the shutters makes it possible to contain a very fluid cosmetic product.

Figure 2, the device of the invention comprises a maneuvering face (200) in the form of a cap covering the entire contour of the base. According to this embodiment, the cap is of semi-ellipsoidal shape. The dimensions of the cap constituting the maneuvering face (200) are adapted to a full grip of the device object of the invention, with, according to this embodiment, a length, along the major axis of the ellipse, included between 120 mm and 170 mm, a width, along the minor axis of the ellipse, between 70 mm and 100 mm, and a height at the top of the cap relative to the base between 30 mm and 50 mm.

Thus, Figure 4, the hand (490) of the user takes the shape of the maneuvering face (200) of the device (400) object of the invention, in a configuration comparable to that it would take during a caress on the part where the product is applied, which makes the movement natural, with better control of the pressure exerted.

The contact face of the device which is the subject of the invention thus covers an area of about 100 cm ² , by applying a substantially uniform pressure on this surface, because of its gripping mode, whereas the devices of the art Prior art, described for example in documents EP 1 472 953 and US 2005/020948, apply on a surface of the order of 10 cm ² taking into account their design and vis-à-vis their mode of gripping.

The maneuvering face (200) is made of a rigid plastic material, and, FIG. 9, according to an exemplary embodiment, advantageously comprises, locally or on the surface, one or more softer zones (211) or raised zones (911). to facilitate and secure the grip. Advantageously, the raised areas (911) are also made of a softer material.

Returning to FIG. 2, this figure represents the device that is the subject of the invention in a "free" configuration, that is to say before it is applied to the skin. When the device is applied to the skin, the rollers (101, 102), mounted on their suspension arms, move inwardly of the base towards the cap (200) of gripping until a skirt (210), mounted peripherally on the contour of the base, comes into contact with the skin. According to this embodiment, the skirt (210) is made of a softer material, for example silicone.

Figure 8, the skirt (210) thus mounted protrudes under the base (100) so that it comes into contact with the skin during the application of the device by exerting sufficient pressure. It thus participates mechanically and passively in the control of the applied pressure.

Returning to FIG. 2, according to this exemplary embodiment, a part (21 1) of the skirt extends in flush on a portion of the cap constituting the operating face and which is under the thumb when the object device is used. of the invention. According to another embodiment, the pump is an electric pump and the control button on the gripping face of the device object of the invention controls the startup of the pump. According to one embodiment, the control of the electric pump is conditioned to the closure of a contact actuated by the suspension arms of the rollers, so that the cosmetic product can be delivered only if said rollers are applied to the skin.

According to one embodiment (not shown), the reservoir is a removable reservoir. In this case, according to an exemplary embodiment, the opening (31 1) of the cap accommodating the extension (21 1) of the skirt, is used to introduce said removable tank, the skirt then no longer including the extension (21 1) to the cap, this part being integrated with the removable tank.

In a version of the device according to the invention comprising a fixed reservoir and a filling orifice, said orifice is provided with means capable of cooperating with complementary identification means carried by the container used for filling the reservoir.

In one or the other of these versions, the identification means, carried by the product refill container, comprise, according to nonlimiting examples of embodiment:

- an electronic chip, or

a zone comprising electrically conductive parts and insulated parts arranged in a particular pattern, or - Pins arranged in a particular pattern.

The reading device carried by the massage device comprises:

means for reading the electronic chip of the refill, or

a series of electrical contacts interacting with the conductive and isolated areas of the refill, or

- contact sensors actuated by the pins of the recharg e.

An electronic module (790) comprising an input port (795) and an output port (796) makes it possible to collect the data from all the sensors of the device that is the subject of the invention and to combine them for their analysis using implement a firmware (792) recorded in said electronic module.

The surface of the base and the volume available under the grip cap of the device object of the invention make it easy to integrate all these means.

Figures 8 and 9, according to an exemplary embodiment, the device of the invention, in its so-called electronic version, advantageously comprises a sensory means of communication with the user. By way of example, said sensory means comprises, alone or in combination:

visual means, such as one or more colored light-emitting diodes (950) installed on the cap, or a liquid crystal screen;

a sound emission means, simple or modulated;

- A tactile means (850), such as a vibrator, for example fixed on the cap inside thereof.

The activation of said sensory means is controlled by the electronic module. The sensors (711, 712, 713, 714), the sensory means (950, 850) of communication, the electronic module (790), the battery (710) and all the connections between these elements are protected against water jets and immersion up to 1 meter deep, and meet the IP 67 standard protection class according to IEC 60529. Thus, the device object of the invention can be used in the shower and in the bath, including in its electronic version. The electronic components are also selected and protected so that they can withstand exposure to a temperature of 70 ° C in wet heat without damage, for a period of at least 5 minutes during operation.
