Wing assembly according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that on the front side of the main body (11) there are provided two spaced-apart angle legs (21, 22), the free ends of which are directed away from each other, and in that each angle leg (21, 22) forms, together with the associated edge leg (24, 25), an edge groove (23a, 23b) for the insertion of a further fitting element.
  4. Wing assembly according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that on the front side of the main body (11) there are provided two spaced-apart angle legs (21, 22), the free ends of which are directed towards each other to form a C-shaped groove (23) for the insertion of a further fitting element into the groove (23).
  5. Wing assembly according to claim 3 or 4, characterised in that the main body (11) has on the underside thereof between the angle legs (21, 22) a groove-shaped recess for forming an underside hollow (29).
  6. Wing assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a cover (48) is provided that can be mounted on the main body (11) and at least substantially covers the front side (12) of the main body (11).
  7. Wing assembly according to claim 6, characterised in that the cover (48) is detachably connectable to the main body (11) and in that, preferably, the cover (48) has a front cover rail (49) and on the rear side at least one foot (51, 52), in particular formed as a latching leg, for engagement in the groove (23) or the edge grooves (23a, 23b) of the main body (11).
  8. Wing assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a further fitting element of the fitting (5) is provided for the in particular detachable connection to the fitting element and in that the further fitting element can be placed on and/or pushed onto the fitting element.
  9. Wing assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the further fitting element has a connecting body (30) having a rear side (31) and a front side (32), wherein either one foot (33) having at least one engagement protrusion (34, 35) for engagement in the C-shaped groove (23) in the fitting element is provided on the back of the connecting body (30), or two feet (33) are provided, each having an engagement protrusion (34, 35) for engagement in each case in an edge groove (23a, 23b).
  10. Wing assembly according to claim 9, characterised in that in the connecting body (30) there is provided a continuous screw opening (38) for a screw, in particular a punching screw (39), for fixing the further fitting element to the fitting element.
  11. Wing assembly according to claim 9 or 10, characterised in that on at least one end face (40, 41) of the connecting body (30) there is provided a protrusion (42, 43) tapering in a wedge-shaped manner in the longitudinal direction and/or on the underside at its free end for arrangement between the angle legs (21, 22) of the fitting element.
  12. Wing assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the main body (11) is mirror-symmetrical along its central longitudinal axis (M), and/or in that the connecting body (30) is mirror-symmetrical along its central longitudinal axis with respect to the at least one foot (33) or the feet (33a, 33b), the screw opening (38) and/or the protrusion (42, 43).
  13. Method for the head-on mounting of a fitting element in a C-shaped wing groove (7) in the fold of a frame profile (6) of a wing (2) of a window or door of a wing assembly (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the fitting element with an edge region (17, 19) is obliquely frontally inserted into a groove portion (45, 46) of the wing groove (7) and then pivoted into the wing groove (7).
  14. Method according to claim 13, characterised in that a further fitting element and/or a cover (48) can be placed on and/or pushed onto the fitting element.
  15. Method according to claim 13 or 14, characterised in that the further fitting element is inserted into the wing groove (7) at a different location from the fitting element, wherein one fitting element is moved towards the other fitting element or both fitting elements are moved towards each other in the wing groove (7) in order to arrange the further fitting element to be adjacent to the fitting element, wherein the further fitting element is rigidly connected to the fitting element.
