Definitions
- the invention relates to a synchronous mechanism for a correlated seat-backrest movement of an office chair, with a placeable on a chair column base support, a seat support and a backrest support.
- synchronous mechanism assemblies are understood in the seat base of an office chair, which provide for a coupled, a certain relative movement of the seat and backrest with each other bringing kinematics.
- On the seat support of the usually provided with a padded seat seat of the office chair is mounted.
- the backrest support which extends in a conventional manner from the actual synchronizing mechanism to the rear, carries on an upwardly extending arm, the backrest of the office chair.
- Such self-adjusting synchronous mechanisms are not only often comparatively complicated constructed, consist of a variety of cooperating components and / or are expensive to assemble, but often claim a comparatively large space.
- installation space also requires a device for adjusting the pivoting resistance of the backrest.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a structurally simple self-adjusting synchronous mechanism, which requires a small space, despite the pivoting resistance of the backrest is adjustable. This object is achieved by a synchronous mechanism according to claim 1.
- Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
- a synchronizing mechanism as defined in claim 1 for a correlated seat-backrest movement of an office chair including a base support placeable on a chair column, a seat support and a seat back support, the back support pivotable about both a first transverse axis Base support as well as articulated to the seat support and wherein the seat support is pivotally connected via a coupling element with the base support, wherein the coupling element is pivotally connected both to a second transverse axis pivotally connected to the base support and the seat support, wherein a spring mechanism for adjusting the Pivoting resistance of the backrest is provided, which spring mechanism has at least one spring element, wherein the at least one spring element is supported with its one spring end on the coupling element.
- the one spring end of the at least one spring element is supported on the coupling element, it is first ensured in a simple manner that the spring element at a pivoting of the backrest support from a basic position in a pivoted position back to a whole specific, advantageous manner is applied.
- a particularly advantageous spring force setting possible.
- the number of coupling elements in particular the number of seat support and backrest support connecting elements, reduced, thereby achieving a particularly simple structural design of the mechanism, without sacrificing the desired functionality of a synchronous mechanism.
- a deviating from the usual lifting movement of the seat seat movement can be provided, in which nevertheless the so-called "shirt extraction effect" is avoided.
- a particularly high level of comfort is achieved without the need for more expensive and expensive
- the backrest support pivotally connected both about a transverse axis and thus the main pivot axis of the mechanism defining the base support, as well as the seat support directly, ie directly and without the interposition of an additional component, such that a pivoting movement of the backrest from an initial position into a position pivoted backwards, an immediate lowering movement of the rear area of the seat support seen rearward induced rearwards and the seat support is pivotally connected to the base support via a hinged to the seat support and the base support coupling element such that during the pivoting movement the backrest of the basic position in the pivoted backward position, an immediate lifting movement of the seen in chair longitudinal direction front portion of the seat support to the rear above done.
- the user's weight directly affects the swing resistance felt by the user.
- a light user must overcome a significantly lower swing resistance when pivoting than a heavy user.
- the special synchronous movement of the mechanism according to the invention is preferably achieved in a particularly simple manner that is defined by the positions of the pivot points of the backrest support on the base support on the one hand and on the seat support on the other hand rigidly connected to the backrest support or formed as an integral part of the backrest support coupling element , In other words, between backrest support and Seat support no mutually freely pivotable coupling element longer required. Instead, the backrest support itself serves as a coupling element.
- a particularly suitable coupling geometry and a resulting synchronous movement is achieved in a preferred embodiment of the invention in that the pivot point of the rear coupling element seen in the seat longitudinal direction in the seat longitudinal direction in each position of the backrest support behind the pivot point of the rear coupling element to the base support and the pivot point of the front Coupling element on the seat support seen in the seat longitudinal direction in each position of the backrest support in front of the articulation point of the front coupling element is located on the base support.
- the present synchronous mechanism is characterized in that it is particularly flat, so that a corresponding assembly requires very little space. This is true even if to support or influence the swivel resistance and / or to prevent the backrest tilts uncontrollably backwards and for a safe retrieval of the backrest from the pivoted position to the initial position as soon as the user no longer burdened the backrest ,
- a spring mechanism is provided with one or more spring elements, since the spring mechanism can be designed such that the at least one spring element connects the coupling element with the base support or with the backrest support without needing beyond the already provided housing volume of the base support addition further additional space. This is especially true when the spring element with the coupling element on the one hand and with the rear region of the base support or is connected to the backrest support and thereby arranged comparatively flat lying in the interior of the assembly.
- the spring mechanism comprises means for adjusting the spring force of the at least one spring element in such a way that the distance of the front end of the spring seen in chair longitudinal direction to the front transverse axis, ie to the connection axis of the base support and coupling element, is variable.
- the effective lever arm which influences the actuation of the spring end and thus influences the pivoting resistance of the backrest carrier, namely the distance between the articulation point of the spring on the coupling element and the front transverse axis, can be lengthened or shortened.
- the adjustment of the spring force is preferably carried out such that no work against the spring force must be performed.
- the adjustment means are designed such that the variable-position front end of the spring is movable on a circular path with a substantially constant radius about the other, rear end of the spring. The bias of the spring element remains unchanged.
- the adjusting means comprise a cam drive, which is connected to a cam carrier cam roller connected to the variable position spring end of the at least one spring element and by a manual or motorized by the user movement of the cam carrier in Positions of different spring force is movable.
- a cam drive as adjusting means is advantageous because of the precisely defined by the predetermined curve slope movement curve of the spring end.
- the adjusting means comprise a movement thread, with a threaded spindle and a threaded nut movably guided on the threaded spindle, wherein the threaded nut is connected to the spring element of the at least one spring element supported on the coupling element, and this spring end is moved by a movement of the threaded nut into positions of different spring force is movable.

- the coupling elements 16, 21 are arranged in a V-shape with each other, with the imaginary extension lines of the coupling elements 16, 21 intersecting below the base support 1.
- the relative movement of seat support 3 and backrest support 4 to each other is determined by the position of the total of four by the ends of the two coupling elements 16, 21 extending, defined by the articulation points hinge axes 13, 15, 22, 23.
- the described pivoting mechanism ensures that the backrest support 4 can be pivoted with the backrest about the rear transverse axis 11 serving as the main pivot axis, in this case the first articulation axis 13, in the pivoting direction 7.
- the pivotal movement of the backrest to the rear induces an immediate lowering S of the rear portion 25 of the seat support 3 back down and the front portion 8 of the seat support 3 performs a lifting movement H to the rear top (see Fig. 1 ).
- a pivoting of the backrest thus takes place at the same time a displacement of the seat support 3 to the rear, while the base support 1 with the pivot bearings 13, 22 remains fixed in position.
- the mechanism has a spring mechanism for adjusting the pivoting resistance of the backrest.
- This comprises at least one spring element 30, see Fig. 2 .

Such self-adjusting synchronous mechanisms are not only often comparatively complicated constructed, consist of a variety of cooperating components and / or are expensive to assemble, but often claim a comparatively large space. In particular, installation space also requires a device for adjusting the pivoting resistance of the backrest.
An object of the present invention is to provide a structurally simple self-adjusting synchronous mechanism, which requires a small space, despite the pivoting resistance of the backrest is adjustable. This object is achieved by a synchronous mechanism according to
Thereafter, a synchronizing mechanism as defined in
Characterized in that the one spring end of the at least one spring element is supported on the coupling element, it is first ensured in a simple manner that the spring element at a pivoting of the backrest support from a basic position in a pivoted position back to a whole specific, advantageous manner is applied. In addition, as explained in more detail below, by the connection of the spring element to the coupling element, a particularly advantageous spring force setting possible.
Dadurch wird ein besonders hoher Sitzkomfort erreicht, ohne daß auf aufwendigere und teureFirst, however, with the present invention, the number of coupling elements, in particular the number of seat support and backrest support connecting elements, reduced, thereby achieving a particularly simple structural design of the mechanism, without sacrificing the desired functionality of a synchronous mechanism. At the same time a deviating from the usual lifting movement of the seat seat movement can be provided, in which nevertheless the so-called "shirt extraction effect" is avoided. As a result, a particularly high level of comfort is achieved without the need for more expensive and expensive
Lösungen zurückgegriffen werden muß.Solutions must be resorted to.
This is achieved in that the backrest support pivotally connected both about a transverse axis and thus the main pivot axis of the mechanism defining the base support, as well as the seat support directly, ie directly and without the interposition of an additional component, such that a pivoting movement of the backrest from an initial position into a position pivoted backwards, an immediate lowering movement of the rear area of the seat support seen rearward induced rearwards and the seat support is pivotally connected to the base support via a hinged to the seat support and the base support coupling element such that during the pivoting movement the backrest of the basic position in the pivoted backward position, an immediate lifting movement of the seen in chair longitudinal direction front portion of the seat support to the rear above done. Instead of the usual lifting of the entire seat so the rear portion of the seat is lowered at a pivoting of the backrest in its rearwardly pivoted position, while the front portion of the seat is raised. The lowering of the rear seating area takes place directly at each leaving the basic position, without about initially a lifting movement of the rear seating area takes place. The basic position is considered that position in which the backrest is not pivoted to the rear.
Characterized in that the seat support is lowered into its rear region and at the same time takes place a lifting of the front portion of the seat support, there is a synchronous entrainment of the seat in a defined relationship to the backrest and a tilting of the seat. This gives the desired synchronizing effect, in which the angle of the seat support to the backrest support changes.
The user's weight directly affects the swing resistance felt by the user. A light user must overcome a significantly lower swing resistance when pivoting than a heavy user. Subjectively, the same "perceived" resistance arises when pivoting the backrest for each user.
The special synchronous movement of the mechanism according to the invention is preferably achieved in a particularly simple manner that is defined by the positions of the pivot points of the backrest support on the base support on the one hand and on the seat support on the other hand rigidly connected to the backrest support or formed as an integral part of the backrest support coupling element , In other words, between backrest support and Seat support no mutually freely pivotable coupling element longer required. Instead, the backrest support itself serves as a coupling element.
A particularly suitable coupling geometry and a resulting synchronous movement is achieved in a preferred embodiment of the invention in that the pivot point of the rear coupling element seen in the seat longitudinal direction in the seat longitudinal direction in each position of the backrest support behind the pivot point of the rear coupling element to the base support and the pivot point of the front Coupling element on the seat support seen in the seat longitudinal direction in each position of the backrest support in front of the articulation point of the front coupling element is located on the base support.
Compared to other self-adjusting mechanisms, the present synchronous mechanism is characterized in that it is particularly flat, so that a corresponding assembly requires very little space. This is true even if to support or influence the swivel resistance and / or to prevent the backrest tilts uncontrollably backwards and for a safe retrieval of the backrest from the pivoted position to the initial position as soon as the user no longer burdened the backrest , A spring mechanism is provided with one or more spring elements, since the spring mechanism can be designed such that the at least one spring element connects the coupling element with the base support or with the backrest support without needing beyond the already provided housing volume of the base support addition further additional space. This is especially true when the spring element with the coupling element on the one hand and with the rear region of the base support or is connected to the backrest support and thereby arranged comparatively flat lying in the interior of the assembly.
According to the invention, the spring mechanism comprises means for adjusting the spring force of the at least one spring element in such a way that the distance of the front end of the spring seen in chair longitudinal direction to the front transverse axis, ie to the connection axis of the base support and coupling element, is variable. As a result, the effective lever arm, which influences the actuation of the spring end and thus influences the pivoting resistance of the backrest carrier, namely the distance between the articulation point of the spring on the coupling element and the front transverse axis, can be lengthened or shortened. When adjusting the spring force, the position of the spring element in the mechanics, in particular their inclination is changed, as a result, the bias of the overall mechanism changes.
The adjustment of the spring force is preferably carried out such that no work against the spring force must be performed. For such a "powerless" spring force adjustment, the adjustment means are designed such that the variable-position front end of the spring is movable on a circular path with a substantially constant radius about the other, rear end of the spring. The bias of the spring element remains unchanged.
Not within the scope of this invention, the adjusting means comprise a cam drive, which is connected to a cam carrier cam roller connected to the variable position spring end of the at least one spring element and by a manual or motorized by the user movement of the cam carrier in Positions of different spring force is movable. The use of a cam drive as adjusting means is advantageous because of the precisely defined by the predetermined curve slope movement curve of the spring end.
According to the invention, the adjusting means comprise a movement thread, with a threaded spindle and a threaded nut movably guided on the threaded spindle, wherein the threaded nut is connected to the spring element of the at least one spring element supported on the coupling element, and this spring end is moved by a movement of the threaded nut into positions of different spring force is movable.

The front end of the
On the curve of the
An advantage of the

In an alternative embodiment (not shown), the

Upon pivoting of the
The front end of the
The
In order to achieve a "powerless" spring force adjustment, the means for adjusting the spring force are designed such that the
In contrast to a stepped adjustment of the spring force, as was the case with the previously described first embodiment with a trough having cam, now always a stepless change in position of the
The movement of the position of the
The threaded
Alternatively, it is possible, despite the rectilinear movement of the threaded
